HORRIBLE!!! I will never order anything from Red Envelope again. I ordered early, November 25, to ensure delivery by Christmas. I was so pleased to receive my purchase early - until I opened the box, and discovered that they sent the wrong gift. I contacted redEnvelope and was informed that my selection was now sold out until January. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put the right order in a box, especially considering that 2 of their inspectors allegedly checked my order for accuracy. To add insult to injury, when I inquired about a refund and sent an email to complain, I was sent to standard "we will respond to you in one business day" email. Not only did I not get a response, but I had to contact their accounting department to find out when and if I had even been refunded my purchase price. I would strongly urge everyone to refrain from ordering anything from redEnvelope - I never will!

Took ten full days for my item to even ship and after speaking to 3 customer service reps and chatting online twice, I was promised everything from expedited shipping to Saturday delivery. This company is terrible. They lie on their website, they misrepresent their quality, and they make no efforts to resolve customer complaints.
I purchased a sterling silver locket- monogrammed and with archival quality, high-res. photos. I paid 15.00 extra for the monogram and for the photos. They mis-printed the monogram, and they screwed up the spacing between the letters. The locket appears to have been used (!!!) as their were scratches and gashes covering the front of the locket, as if it had been banging around in someone's bag for some time.
The photos were so low resolution (and printed on copy paper, not high res/high gloss "archival quality" as the website promises) that the dots from the dot matrix printer they used completely obscured the faces.
The customer service was completely unapologetic and offered no resolution. They also did not deny that they lied on their site. I took this to their corporate offices, who also did not deny they lie on their site.
I purchased some mother's day flowers last-minute from RedEnvelope, and they came perfectly on time. Not only that, but they were gorgeous. My mom - someone who is very hard to shop for - could not stop raving about how beautiful her gift was.

I ordered a gift for my mother in law on Sunday and paid extra to ensure its timely delivery on her birthday, Wednesday, (2nd day delivery $16.95). Monday was Memorial Day. Two business days were Tuesday, Wednesday with delivery on the second business day, Wednesday.
The explanation by the rep was that one of the business days was used for processing, therefore the item would be delivered on the Third business day, Thursday, one day past the birthday. I was offered 10% off my next order, HA! All I asked for was compensation difference between regular and 2nd day shipping, reasonable I thought? No!
I will never shop here again, I suggest you find another resource more deserving of your business!

My wife and I have used this website often for gifts and have always been happy not only with the quality of the gifts but also the care that goes into their signature gift wrapping. A gift beautifully wrapped for presentation always makes a big hit.
For this Christmas my wife ordered a gift off this website. There was a problem with the delivery date so the company rushed us the product in time for Christmas but mailed their signature gift box and wrapping to us separately.
Technically, they provided everything we ordered. However having to wrap the gift ourselves was something we didn't bargain for. If you order during Christmas or some other busy time of year, be careful they don't pull this with you as well.

I ordered a gift NINE days before Valentine's Day. I paid Priority Shipping so the item can arrive before or no later than Valentine's Day (they guaranteed that on their website). A DAY AFTER Valentine's Day the item still hasn't arrived. They rip customer off by making them pay top dollars for shipping but did nothing to make sure the item arrives on time. I sent email to their Customer Service and guess what, it's been two days and I haven't heard anything from them.
Lesson learned...no more shopping from this vendor that's for sure.

I ordered a set of earring and matching necklace for my wife for Christmas. I received 2 packages and the packing slips indicated that I received both items so I didn't open up the packages. When I gave them to my wife they contained 2 sets of earrings. I called customer service and they apologized, said that the item was in stock and that they would overnight the correct item so that I would have it for Christmas (and that I would returned the extra set of earrings). Needless to say the necklace never showed up, instead I received an email 3 days later that the necklace wasn't in stock and they had no idea when it would be received. Because my wife wanted a matching set and I already had 1 misleading experience, I immediately cancelled my order and will ship everything back. They seem to be very disorganized (but polite) and no one seems to really know what's going on. I will not shop there again.

I just purchased a birthday gift for my Mother through Red Envelope and at the end of the purchase a new window popped up offering me $15 off my next purchase. It had sound with a pleasant voice that said something about “not $10 but $15 off your next purchase!” Nothing about the fact that you are actually signing up for "red envelope rewards". Shame on me for not reading all the fine print. I should know better but I thought Red Envelope was more of a reputable company than that. I didn't think about it much because it was only asking for my e-mail and zip code. The $14.95 per month charge using the credit card you just used for your purchase is buried in the fine print. About two seconds after I clicked the button I realized my mistake but it was too late. Once I finally found the confirmation e-mail (in my spam folder) there was no phone number or instructions to cancel (and no mention of the monthly charge). I am now working through the system to make sure that I don't have this ridiculous charge on my credit card.

Wonderfull products, tastefull, classy goods but have issues twice with ordering. One order took over 3 months to ship and arrive at the location and customer service was no real help.
I place an order with Red Envelope on December 11, 2004, more than enough time for a delivery to be made. Over the course of the next ten days, it took at least four telephone calls (forget trying their on-line customer service!) on MY part to find out (a) my credit card had been declined --- odd, given that I had received an order confirmation to my e-mail; (b) that the item had not shipped from the warehouse and NO ONE could explain why, but that they would offer me free shipping once it did get sent; and (c) ELEVEN days after the original order was placed, I was informed that the item I ordered was, in fact, on back order and probably not coming in again.
One of the WORST experience I have ever had with either an on-line or in store retailer! Never again.

I had picked out three birthstone pendants and necklace for Christmas this year. Each pendant was to have one of my daughter's birthstones and their initial. The order came quickly; however, none of the pendants had been monogrammed. I called customer service, and the customer service representative assured me everything would be taken care of. I checked my order online, and the initials had not been entered with my new order. I talked to another customer service representative online. He said he fixed the mistake, and that my order was now correct. Once again, I received my order quickly, but one of the pendants had the incorrect initial and one of the birthstones was incorrect on another pendant. After this, I decided to just call customer service and ask for a refund. I picked this necklace out months ago. I will not do business with Red Envelope again.

I happened to check online a credit card I had not used since December of 2008. To my surprise I found that this place called red Envelope Rewards had been charging this credit card $14.95 a month for the past 10 months without any authorization of my knowledge.
I purchased an item last December from Red Envelope but never saw or was asked about this "Rewards " program.
If this scam is something that this firm does, I will advertise to everyone I can not to purchase from Red Envelope.

Now, I'm not always the romantic type here, but, when I need a nice gift to give a girl, I go to Red Envelope and no place else. I discovered the online store when I was shopping around for something sentimental for my mom a few years ago. Well, since then, Red Envelope has always been the #1 place I go to in order to find gifts that are stylish and simple. Now, yes, sometimes their stuff can be a little bit pricy, and once they made a little packaging mistake, but that's okay. Overall, they have classy and unique gifts and, while I don't always end up shopping there, I always, always, ALWAYS check Red Envelope before anyplace else. Most of the time, I'm able to find a perfect gift in about 20 minutes without having to scower the internet for an eternity or two (or three or four) like some Columbus on crack. So, really, is it any wonder that I love Red Envelope? It saves me time and yet makes sure my gifts are thoughtful. That's a double miracle if ever there was one…

First of all, I had to telephone them twice to get my order processed (who knows for what reason,since this is no verification of anything)!Then I found that a portion of my order was not available.What was available shipped two weeks after I placed my order.Two months later I was informed by automated e-mail that my back ordered items/order was cancelled.To make things even worse the package which did ship was missing 1 item (10% value of the shipped order).I wrote to customer support about this and have not received any reply (9 days now).I will definitely not be purchasing from this e-merchant in the future, you decide if you want to!

Red Envelope offered an unreliable Christmas promotion. In association with Red Envelope, in an attempt to show it's appreciation of their customers Comcast cable offered free shipping on Red Envelope products, guaranteed to arrive by Christmas. I placed an order on Monday December 25th destined for Maryland, well before the deadline, and on the 24th my order still had not been shipped. When I contacted customer service for Red Envelope, they informed me that my order would not have make the destination by Christmas. I live in California. If I had not contacted Red Envelope, I would not have been informed of their mistake. The only consolation they offered me, was a refund, or shipping to commence on the 27th. I feel they lured customers in with free shipping and a promise they could not fulfill, in order to boost their sales. There were several other reliable companies offering shipping by Christmas, that I could have used, and I could have purchased something and shipped it Fedex or UPS Next Day Air myself.

As I recall the sizes that were given were S, M, L, XL. I think that you should also include specific measurements to with these sizes. I have shopped at Red Envelope for years. I ordered the leather coasters, engraved. I was disappointed in the quality of the leather plates that the engraving came on. They were scratched up. Also, I ordered the friendship box and as soon as I opened it, there was a scratch right on the top where the engraving is. These items are not returnable since they are engraved. They should not offer personalized or monogrammed things. They obviously can?t control the quality. They also need to do a much better job of training their customer service people.
Red Envelope is great, as long as you don?t have a problem. If you have a problem, you will be made to feel their mistakes are yours. I am still waiting for a follow up call on a personalization mistake they made. They feel that giving 10% off of a future order is restitution for any error they make.
I love the gifts, and as I say, they are great IF you don't have a problem. Even returning an item requires that you call their customer service department for a return number. Why can?t live chat handle that?
They should look to companies like LL Bean for guidance. They need it!

It was tough ordering through RedEnvelope. I often shop through the internet and found it just so tough with them. I tried to order it once before and it failed with the same card number i used to recieve it this time..after i had called time after time to figure out why it wasn't working. Not much help from their support. When I finally ordered the same thing this time and it went through with the same card (took 4 weeks to actually get what i wanted with the same cc used) I see we have to tape our initials on it and it seems cheaper than what i thought. I gave in. I have had good service in the past and may order from them again, i am not sure. I just know it was a pain to do it this past time. Not sure I would want to go through that again.

i ordered a mother's birthstone necklace on line. When the item arrived, one of the stone's was wrong. Because I ordered on line, I have no recourse. I did not request my money back, only that the wrong stone be changed out for the correct one. The reply was that the jeweler would not change out the stone and that I could try and find a local jeweler that would or order another necklace at a 10% discount. It is quite possible taht I made a mistake when I ordered the necklace, but my order summary on line or in the email I received didn't state what stones I ordered. I didn't realize the mistake until the necklace arrived. Because the item was ordered on line and not with a customer service rep, I am out of luck. Read more

I like the website, but was disappointed that not all of your products were available through the Shop.com website. I am not happy with the gift box that my gift came in. One of my items that had an engraving portion to it did not come with the engraving part, so I had to call and have it sent. They offered to rush deliver, but I declined as that was not necessary.

Easily found the item when returning to the site in the search box which is awesome as lots of sites cannot even find their own merchandise sometimes. The chain on the necklace was not of high quality. I bought the birthstone necklace and although the entire item was only $80 for most months, I purchased April and took the option of upgrading to the diamond which made the price $315.
