Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never again!!!

Customer service is extremely bad. Reps can be very rude. If you place a large order they treat you like you are attempting to defraud them. They would not accept my payment by credit card. I had to wire the money ($6,222,38) to them. It took them fours days and several phone calls after I placed the order to tell me how I could pay for the order. Maggie was very rude about it. Made me feel like they didn't want my business. I would have ordered from another vendor but it seemed every site I went to was connected to them. Getting the tracking info after shipment was a chore, as well. Their internet site showed my order in unknown status so I called customer service and was told they could not email me the tracking numbers because they had no email access. I was given one tracking number over the phone but it turned out it was bogus. Finally, after calling their corporate office, I was mailed he tracking numbers by a unapologetic Tom.

Save yourself a big hassle and shop elsewhere.

What does MF really mean?

Although the MF online store has a large selection of items, and the online ordering process is straightforward, once you place a high cost order you suddenly find yourself dealing with the credit card "verification" department, which requires talking to the customer service and billing staff. This experience was probably the worst I've had dealing with any online merchant (and I do this kind of ordering frequently for business). The customer service people were confused and disorganized, resulting in my having to make multiple phone calls to clear up the confusion. And worse, the billing people were rude. Basically the whole experience left me cancelling the order and searching for a different merchant. My recommendation is to find another more professional and reliable online store for musical purchases, and there are plenty - maybe not as big, but definitely offering better quality selection and as good or better prices, and definitely better service!

The only online store that I really trust as far as excellent customer service and fast shipments within 3 days of submitting my orders.
The prices are very competitive and products are as described......Please note : if you find another online store with a very low price.....9 times out of 10 they do not have it in stock or it may be a factory second or class B........I normally do not participate in these types of reviews but since MUSICIAN'S FRIEND has serviced my account so professionally.....I just had to let other musicians know that.....yes......THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL... with a huge inventory of goodies that will satisfy all your needs ! !

Wrong product shipped, extremely bad customer service

I had an extremely bad experience with Musicians Friend.com. I ordered an Ibanez RG guitar case but they ended up sending me the SKB Bass case. When I called them, they were no help at all and so i decided to return the product without taking an exchange. This was my first experience with them and most definitely the last. I am never going back to that site EVER AGAIN!

Misleading shipping policies and snotty customer service

Recently, I ordered two items from Musicians Friend. I needed them quickly, so I read the shipping policies which state that "often, items are shipped the same day." I paid $18 extra for what was described as 2 day shipping, so I would get them in time.

I was appalled to find out that only one item was shipped on the third day. When I called to enquire, I was informed that one item was backordered, how come I didn't know? (I had not been informed--a note on my email would have been appropriate.) As to my other item, didn't I know that 2 day shipping meant they would ship it within two days? Instead of receiving the items within two days, it took one week from ordering. I have requested a pickup and a 100% credit.

I will NEVER order from these nasty fools again. They must be very proud of themselves deceiving musicians everywhere into believing they are their friend. I'll gladly patronize smaller businesses, even if I spend more money, because they know what good customer service is.

Having bought a an amp a few years ago from MF, I should have learned the first time to just stay away. The amp I bought came in DOA 3 times! This time I purchased a new Takamine EG561-C for 499$. It ordered it 12/15 and it arrived 12/22, loose in a tattered box, with no packing material other than a few wadded up pieces of brown wrapping paper, with damage to the neck! Just like in previous complaints, the little punk I was talking to was quick to blame it on UPS like he was reading it from a script. Thankfully, the UPS guy had me open and inspect it so I could refuse the order on the spot. The funny part is I ordered a hardshell case from music123 because it was cheaper, the case arrived in a massive box filled with AIR BAGS! Fortunately, I know how to deal with these kind of guys from previous experience buying consumer electronics from on-line stores located in Brooklyn. Remember the adage "If it's too good to be true..."

I do not understand where all of these people are claiming bad experiences from. I have ordered from MF multiple times and have had nothing but the best experiences. My most recent purchase was a rogue 5 string bass, a behringer ultrabass combo, and a death metal distortion pedal. I ordered on Friday, and my Death Metal pedal was here Monday, and my bass and amp showed up first thing this morning. I called MF to check the status of my order, and they were very knowledgeable and friendly. If you want a good customer service rep, don't call after about... 7:00 eastern time, though- it's as if that's when the ones with a brain leave. Do not hesitate when ordering from them. Products are great, and super speedy shipping.

Lied to everyday, wouldn't ship in stock items.

I ordered 3 items, all in stock. Two weeks later, nothing has shipped. After several phone calls to customer service, I keep getting told the same lie. It will ship tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. It never ships though. I finally had to cancel the order so I wouldn't have to be lied to on a daily basis.

Why would anyone risk this by giving credit card info to the company? Worthless company. Worthless lying employees working at the company.

I had a very bad experience with Musician's Friend. I ordered something that was supposedly in stock, with several weeks lead time to when I absolutely needed it.

My order was listed as in the warehouse "Being Packed" for TWO WEEKS. I emailed them, no response. I opened a customer service ticket. No response, even though they auto-reply said they'd get back to me within 24 hours. Finally I called and waited on hold until I could talk to an actual human being. He acknowledged that everything had been in stock all along, and that it should have shipped, but that sometimes the warehouse computers "get confused." Huh?

Customer service refused to expedite the order, and refused to change the shipping, and the order did not arrive in time.

HORRIBLE customer service, HORRIBLE experience. Definitely not MY "Friend."

I recently ordered a small set of colored chase lights from musiciansfriend.com, and it was a very pleasant experience. They told me it would be 3-5 business days for ground shipping delivery (ups). I ordered the product on Friday morning, and it showed up Monday afternoon! I live in Iowa, and I found out subsequently that they have a distribution center in St. Louis, so that's why it was so fast. No need for rush shipping here!
I also ordered a 2-pack of pin spots. Same exact story there, super fast delivery. You can even track your order if you like, and the customer service people seem to know what they're talking about. I'd recommend them for any musician. They always have the best deals and almost always have everything in their catalog in stock.

Useless.. I ordered from them to find out my order was never gonna ship. "My card was denied" well I used my debit card from which I had money in my account. My card works everywhere else. But my main point is I had to contact them to find this information out. They couldn't care less about the customer.

I order a presonus firestudio from musician's friend and their web site showed that it would include a free 120 GB hard drive with the order. The order did not come with the promised free hard drive so I call customer service and they denied that they had ever offered the free hard drive with it even though the ad was still on their web site. They took the ad down that day and refused to give me the free hard drive so I returned the firestudio. I am currently looking for an honest internet company to repurchase the firestudio from. If anybody knows of a good one, let me know.

Was promised an order (placed 12/17/07) before Christmas with regular shipping, but chose to upgrade to 2-day "just in case". As of 12/28/07, the item still has not been shipped, had called customer service and they could tell me nothing more than the web tracking site did, have sent two e-mails with complaints and asking IF the item will be shipped and no response.
For years I shopped with this company, but this past year the service has gone straight down the tubes. HORRIBLE. You get what you pay for, which in this case, is nothing. Those cheap prices translate to no service.

I think MF is struggling financially, maybe facing problems like Mars music did. Hard to say, but last item I tried to return they denied me the option to return it. It was a $1700 guitar. They claimed that they had told me the item would not be returnable, but there was no such statement made by them when they called me to verify the order. When I tried to return it I couldn't. Now I'm stuck with a $1700 guitar I don't like... will sell it on ebay of course. I feel that I was deceived and lied to in order to protect their bottom line. I called twice to CS and requested to talk with higher level management trying to work out the situation... asking for an exchange for even higher priced merchandise. They simply would not do it. It was so aggravating. I've spent more than $4000 at MF over the last 2 years... They will not get another dime from me!

Unfortunately, I can't give Musician's Friend a good rating. I have had a few dealings gone bad with M.F. I recently purchase a C1 Stealth from them and received a guitar with completely different (CHROME COVER pickups when they were advertised as BLACK OPEN COIL). Hardly a STEALTH looking stealth. (in case you haven't noticed stealth is USUALLY all black). If this is how Musician's Friend intends on doing business by selling mis-represented items without correcting the advertisements, I will deal with Interstate Music Supply exclusively.

Not to mention another time I ordered an $899 Jackson guitar and received about a $150 student guitar in a re-wrapped box in ERROR. Who does the quality control here????

I have bought many items off & on from Musicians Friend for at least 15 years. Never had any problems. Excellent product selection, and prices as good or better than buying locally. A great and easy way to shop if you don't need an item immediately.
