overall excellent. one issue - I HATE fedex home service. I much prefer UPS or real FEDEX. consider offering a choice. all things being equal, i will choose the merchant that uses anything other than FEDEX home.

I ordered this camera at 3:09pm on Monday and got it in my hand by 9:20am on Thursday! This far exceeded my expectations. The camera is as advertised and wonderful. Excellent - I have tried to order electronic items over the internet from US retailes to ship to Canada in the past, and have not had much luck. Beach Camera's forms were easy, and the follow-up phone call was great. My only suggestions would be:
1. State on the order form that shipments to Canada can only be sent by FedEx (the most expensive shipping option), rather than offering the cheaper shipping rate ($9.95) if it isn't even available.
2. Remind people that shipments to Canada are subject to taxes and duty upon delivery. I was expecting some fees (specifically duty), but was charged our Provincial and National sales taxes upon delivery. Not a problem, still a better deal than ordering from a Canadian company, but something you might want to remind people of.
Thanks for a great product, and a very excellent ordering/shipping/receiving experience. I'll definitely hop Beach Cameras again. Read more

I received overnight shipping in two days, which was excellent. However, the Canon D300 camera I purchased did not function after I inserted the fully charged battery into the camera. I called customer service the next day and was told to charge the battery for 24 hours, which was incorrect information. Because this was a Friday, I did not learn of this mistake until the weekend, so I lost three days in returning my product. I called customer support again on Monday and another (nicer) rep told me I could return my product and that Beach Camera would immediately return my purchase. I shipped the camera back overnight at my own expense, and received no notification of my return shipment until I emailed them TWO DAYS after the shipment arrived, and was told the return would be processed ONE WEEK after they received it. All in all, their customer support is misleading, which is my primary complaint here. Read more

The ordering on-line and receiving the camera were easy and quickly done. The camera came on time and was in fine working order. However, someone from the company called and left a very cryptic message to call. I tried to do this several times. I still had to wait on hold far too long and then no one knew what the call was about even though I had called the number given me. These people seem to have a little trouble one on one. It's a good thing you can get your business done on line.
