Priceline.com, NEVER AGAIN

I purchased 3 round trip airline tickets from priceline.com for Thanksgiving travel this year. They were for my husband, daughter and myself to spend Thanksgiving with my sister in Portland, Oregon. We were to leave the day before and return the Monday after Thanksgiving with a lay over both ways. The price was fair for, Thanksgiving travel anyway. Only there was a last minute emergency with my husband's job, he wasn't going to be able to go with us. The airline was perfectly happy to help me with a name change on the ticket so that my son or mother could take the ticket for a fee, which was fine with me. However, they had to have the approval of priceline. Priceline would not approve the change on the ticket and after much argument, begging and pleading on my part and the part of the airline, they lied to me as to the reason why they would not approve it. Priceline blamed it on the airline! I could not believe it, I called up the airline and talked to a supervisor who got on the phone with priceline and told them that he personally would allow it, if only they would approve it...still they denied it. Priceline finally admitted to me that they couldn't allow this as the tickets were non-refundable, non-transferable as are all the tickets that they sell. The only problem that I have with this is that I have used them in the past and made changes on the tickets with no problem and even flown standby at other times during the day on that day of travel. They still wouldn't even allow my husband to catch another flight later that day. Therefore, when my daughter and I flew out we told them that he was taking a later flight and would be returning with us on the return ticket and that I wanted all 3 of these seats together so that my 4 year old daughter and I could have more room and so that she wouldn't disturb anyone. At first, they were unable to give us any seats together, after I threw a fit, they told me that I could have 2 of them together but that my husbands would have to be forfeited since he wouldn't be on that flight. Well, I paid for 3 seats, I didn't and still don't understand why I couldn't use all 3 of them. My husband did fly later that day on another airline, to return with us. The original airline re-sold his round-trip ticket (canceling his reservation since he didn't make the original check-in) for $1,288.50. However, they wouldn't refund my money for the ticket($321.00) and my husband had no reservation for the flight home. We then had to purchase him an additional one-way ticket home from Oregon on another airline. Did priceline or the airline offer to pay for him a ticket home or let him fly stand-by on another flight later in the day? ABSOLUTELY NOT! I will NEVER use priceline again nor would I recommend them to anyone else. Their customer service center has rude employees that could care less about taking care of the needs of their customers. After all, I believe it is the consumer that pays their salary, indirectly!
