Failed to deliver! Stranded in California!

I recently used Travelocity for the first time. My father-in-law does not have internet access and asked me to book a flight and rental car for him for a conference he was attending in California. So I went to Priceline.com and reserved an airline ticket (at a very good price!). Then I went to Travelocity and looked for rental car prices. Most of the car companies were out of cars for the week that he would be there and Travelocity would not even allow me to make a reservation at any of them. Although I did find a company that had a good price and made a reservation - all done.
Until the day he actually left. The airplane ticket was waiting for him at the airport and the flight went fine - until he got to the airport and tried to get his rental car. It was not there - the company did not have any cars and had been sold out for that week for a long time. In fact they had been sold out when I made the reservation on Travelocity but it allowed me to make it anyway. So now my father-in-law is stranded at the airport and there are no cars available. He ended up spending the night at the airport and found someone to give him a ride to where his conference was being held (a city about an hour from where the airport was).
I'll never use their service again!
