Details: The Technics RS-TR272 dual-transport cassette deck is a bare-bones piece of gear that still manages to record decent-quality tapes and play tapes well. One transport records and plays, while the second only plays. At this price, you sacrifice auto-reverse and Dolby C noise reduction. The RS-TR272 comes with Dolby B and HX-Pro headroom extension. It includes automatic tape calibration to match its electronics to the specific tape on which you plan to record, and an electronic tape counter. Although it employs a single motor, it still manages to shuttle the tape at a reasonable rate of speed.
