Following its formal introduction at the Detroit Auto Show in January of 2005, this entry-level sedan goes into production at Hermosillo, Mexico towards the fall of next year as a 2006 model. The five-seat Milan is the fourth in a series of new models which Mercury will bring to the market in the next four years. Other vehicles in this battery of new product include the Montego, Mariner, and likely, a crossover wagon, based on the Ford Freestyle. Built on the same CD3 architecture as the proposed Ford Fusion and the Lincoln Zephyr, the Milan will also share parts with the smaller Mazda6.
