Two men who pull off a robbery soon find themselves in opposite circumstances as one is imprisoned and the other successfully flees. The free man winds up on a deserted island where he meets the beautiful Erotica (Rebeca Silva), a dreamlike woman with whom he has a passionate affair. Their idyllic romance is soon interrupted by the other bandit, having escaped prison. He joins the couple on the island creating a confusing love triangle with fatal consequences. This 1979 Mexican classic is the last film from director/actor Emilio Fernandez, who drew great recognition in America as a regular in Sam Peckinpah's films among his other achievements during his 60 year film career. |
