VERY BEST OF POCO is a fine set with a generous track list (it was originally a two-record package) which includes the group's most well-known cuts. Though they existed in the shadow of the Eagles, and were plagued by constant personnel changes, Poco stood as one of the finest country rock bands of the 1970s, a claim supported by the excellent material on VERY BEST OF. Since the set was released in 1975, it provides a substantial cross-section of the band's early work, particularly the line-up featuring Richie Furay and Jim Messina.
