Pros: You get a quick view of the entire park Cons: Loud screaming <ouch>a lot of darkness
For the past three years I have chosen to work in the Orlando, FL area. One of the main reasons is the warm seasonal weather. Surg hates the cold, so this area is well suited to keeping me warm. The second reason is, I am a theme park junkie....
Pros: Great themeing, thrill ride seekers will LOVE! Cons: Can have long lines, may be too scary for some
The first time my husband saw the Tower of Terror, he asked me, “What hotel is that?” I laughed, but had to admit later that the first time I saw it in a friend’s picture, I couldn’t figure out why she would want to take a picture of an old, ...
Pros: Twilight Zone AND a Great Ride! Cons: You'll want to do it again and again
You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sound. A dimension of sight. A dimension of Mind. You are moving into a land of both shadow and substance: of things and ideas. You've just crossed...
Pros: exciting ride, well themed, surprises! Cons: height restriction, may be too scary for some
Looming high over Disney's MGM Studios, the Hollywood Tower Hotel dominates the park. At 199 feet tall (one more foot would mean they'd have to put one of those read aircraft warning lights on it) you can't help but see it from all over as you approach ...
Pros: made well, theme, acting, building up to the elevator, the story Cons: may be scary for smaller kids - or maybe not
Yes, yes. Another Disney review. Hey, you may enjoy this one for a change!
In December of 2002, I took a trip with my family to Orlando, Florida and area. While there, we decided to visit MGM Studios for the sixth time. MGM Studios is the...
Pros: THE scariest ride in any amusement park. Cons: The long lines to ride, but it's worth it!
We went to Disney World for Christmas. We had a five day hopper pass which allowed us to go to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and MGM Studios. We went to MGM Studios for a half day of our trip which was not quite enough time to see the whole...
Pros: Worth the wait. Cons: You could be scared to death.
Never say never or you will miss out on one of the best rides at Disney Studios. This tower haunted me because every time I walked past it I was reminded that I was too chicken to ride it. Everyone has an opinion on rides at Disney but I ...
Pros: Neat special effects, cool sets Cons: Very bumpy ride
When my wife and I went to Orlando for our honeymoon in October 2005, the first park we visited was MGM Studios. We had some multiple-day passes and decided to go spend a few hours at one of the parks just so we could get our moneys worth. On that ...
At nearly 21 years old, this avid park-goer finally made her first trip to Disney World. In our May 17-20, Tues-Fri stay, I ended up snagging the famous FREEFALL TOWER first thing in the morning on Thursday. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is located ...
Pros: On the Fast Pass, Fun Cons: Not for young children
I recently completed a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. I stayed off-site with a friend (at no cost). I visited all the (non-water) parks but took no children with me. All of my Disney World reviews will be written from this perspective....
Pros: the ultimate thrill ride, delightfully scary Cons: those horrible pictures they take, not the best ride to drag small children on, too scary for some, over too quickly
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney-MGM Studios will forever change the way you look at thrill rides. Roller coasters have nothing on this freak-you-out free-falling fright of a scary good time. This other dimension will make even...
Pros: Never the same ride twice! Exciting each and every time! Cons: The wait is sometimes very long.
Welcome the Haunted Hollywood Hotel. As the back-story goes one night, a group of visitors took the service elevator during quite the storm outside. And crash the elevator is no more and this once pristine and glamorous hotel has succumb to ghosts and ...
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror was the one ride everyone told me I just had to ride. Both my husband and my daughter Amanda were as eager as I was to experience this very popular ride. The previous summer Amanda rode every roller coaster...
Pros: Great atmosphere, and a great ride! You'll want to ride multiple times! Cons: Lines can be long, so use fastpass whenever the line is longer than 20 minutes.
I wasn't sure I was even going to get on the Tower of Terror ride, as I'm usually not too big of a fan of intense rides. I'm 6'7" tall and often don't fit comfortably on these rides and get tossed around quite a bit. I decided that I was ...
Pros: Great Story, Great Thrills, Great Scenery Cons: Might loose your lunch, replaced bars with seatbelts which makes it less scary!
This ride has done very much for drop ride. Again Disney has taken a common ride (drop ride) and has played every person's vacation fear of being stuck and plummiting in a tight elevator. I will discuss this attraction and why it is one of the greatest ...
Pros: Great effects, theme, and thrills Cons: Not for those who are scared of heights, and drops
While celebrating our honeymoon in Disney World, back in April, my wife and I were at the MGM Studios. One of my most favorite rides there is the Twilight Zone Terror of Terror. I insisted that we go on this ride due to my experience with it several...
Pros: Dropping 13 STORIES leaves you with a Thrilling, Chilling Experience! No long lines! Cons: NONE!
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror opened quite a while back at Disney's MGM Studios. Even though the ride must compete with the ever popular Rock 'n' Roller coaster, this ride shouldn't be missed!
Pros: It could have been nice... Cons: If they didn't drop you ten times!
I have always been a gutsy-girl, eager to try new and exciting things. The highlight of my life was when I went skydiving. I loved the feeling of the free fall and the rush I got from the experience. When I heard about the Tower of Terror and its free...
I went to Disney world this past November and hit Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Safari, and MGM. My favorite ride at MGM was, you guessed it, Tower of Terror! It was so much fun, I even went on twice. If you're going to Disney World, you can't miss ...
We have ridden this ride since it first opened, and I must say, it is terrific. Even our 9 year old adores this, and he will ride it as many times as we allow!
When you first enter the Hotel, it is dusty and very old looking, and you can just feel...
Pros: Suspense, great theme, quarter levitation! Cons: Could be a little harsh on the tummy...
I can handle roller coasters...I love every single one of them. A few of my friends have also taken me bridge jumping as well. It may sound odd, but I can not jump off of a 20 foot bridge. So, because of this, I can't really remember if I myself actually...
Pros: entertaining, scary, great atmospere, fun.. Cons: lines can get long, not for all children
In March of 1994, my mother and her then boyfriend took my sister and I to Orlando, Florida for 6 days. We stayed right in Orlando at a beautiful hotel called the All Star
Music. There were a lot of memorable moments of our trip, but a special ride...
Pros: Soooooooo clever Cons: (read this with a whiney voice) toooo scary!
I will never do Tower of Terror again. I mean it this time! Every time we visit the Disney Studios at Walt Disney World I get bullied into getting into line and all the clever props, special effects, and talented cast members they can throw at me never...
Pros: Incredible detail inside and outside the building. Great story, fantastic ride. Cons: Falls don't feel like they're from a good enough height.
I rode this for the first time on my last trip to Disney back in September, 2001. I'd heard enough about it to get me drooling at least a year in advance of the trip. So naturally, the first attraction I headed to on our day at Disney-MGM Studios was...
I think Tower of Terror was my favorite attraction at MGM Studios. I think it may be my favorite attraction of all of Disney. I was just amazed at the detail of the experience that led up to the actual "ride" part.
Pros: Spooky atmosphere, great gift shop, the ride is great, and the whole family can enjoy this! Cons: Big line, but moves fast.
The whole concept of making a ride based on the Twilight Zone episodes is just great! The ride is fun, the atmosphere is spooky (but fun!), and the whole family is able to join in on the fun.
This has got to be one of the best rides out there. We go to orlando twice a year and I always have to ride this ride. No matter how many times I ride it it never gets old.
I have heard other people complain about long lines for this ride...
Pros: the special effects and the motions of the ride Cons: there were none
Personally, I was never a huge fan of drop rides. The thought of being locked down in a capsule, suspended in the air, and dropped from a thirty-story structure never rode well with me, that is, until my girlfriend dragged me into…
Pros: Rod Serling's reincarnated ! Scenery is right out of a Twilight Zone episode, the ride is thrilling from beginning to end. Cons: The 13th floor has actually been closed on the ride for some time: the dropoff point is now one floor below. Lines may be long at times.
Rod Serling delighted millions of Americans with his horror stories filled with murder and tragedy. What makes this ride entertaining is that you are now a part of the act on a special episode.
Pros: A great ride for thrill seekers! Cons: Long lines, but FASTPASS can avoid them
This ride's theme is set around an old Hollywood Hotel from the 1930's with the Twilight Zone TV show mixed in for the mysterious eerie feeling surrounding it. First of all the attraction itself is massive - standing 199 feet tall it is the tallest...
Pros: Well worth going on Cons: Not for the faint or weak stomached
From the outside this looks like it might be a fun ride. It might take a little nerve to go on, but hey, it's just a ride, right? Myself, being afraid of heights, this wouldn't have been my first choice of rides, but my daughter wanted to go on with...
Pros: Great, fun ride Cons: Somewhat deceiving; there's actually two lines, but it looks like there's only one
"Tower of Terror" is definitely the best attraction at Disney-MGM Studios. It's atmospheric, scary, fun, and always changing so that you never get the same experience in riding it. And there's just the right amount of camp that makes most rides...
Pros: Effects, length of ride, excitement, picture taken during fall Cons: 2 elevators
I will tell you this, this ride was fantastic and had my hair standing on end. There is so much to like about this ride that the long line with the long wait to accompany it becomes well worth it.
Pros: Total thrills....breathtaking special effects Cons: Not for everyone...particularly the faint of heart
They say there's a fine line between absolute pleasure and total terror. You can experience that feeling on Disney-MGM's, Tower of Terror ride. I live near a major amusement park and have ridden some scary roller coasters. Nothing....and I mean...
Pros: Eerie, scary, what a rush!!! Cons: Why were so many young children on this ride?
I want to forewarn everyone that I am a sucker for roller coaster rides and will jump at the chance to ride one. We got to MGM Studios and I was like a kid in the candy store. This was the first time being there and my plan was to conquer as many...
Pros: Thrilling, great theme and experience Cons: None
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is one of the best rides in all of Disney World, even six years after it has opened. Only recently, with the opening of Aerosmith Rock and Roller Coaster has an attraction surpassed the thrills that you can get from the...
two words,PURE SCARY! this ride offers everything you could want. interesting and spooky backstory on the tower of terror hotel, and a heart stopping series of drops.
this ride looks like an elevator, but with a classic twilight zone twist....
Pros: Several exciting drops, darkness, open windows so you can see out over the park. Cons: No really large drops
Ah yes, the Tower of Terror. This is one of the best rides at Disney's MGM Studios. Ever since in construction in 1994 it has been one of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World.
The building which houses the Tower of Terror is huge....
Pros: cool sound effects and graphics during the ride.... Cons: needs to drop more......
My family and I just got back from Disney World a couple days ago. We had a blast. MGM Studios was my favorite, because they had the best rides and attractions. One of the best rides there is the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
Pros: very realistic, fun, thrilling Cons: tedious, goes up and down too many times
On a recent trip to MGM studios, I finally got the courage to try the Tower of Terror. It's really kind of chilling because you can actually hear the people screaming while you stand in line.
Pros: Brilliant, exciting, fun and scary Cons: Long queues
We visited this in June 96, I don’t think it had been open long and I believe it has been upgraded since, but I will never forget this ride. My partner and I visited MGM with his two children who were 8 and 9 at the time. We had to queue for about 45...
Pros: the execution of the theme Cons: sometimes long waits...but worth it
The first time I rode the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (TZToT) was in June 1996. I'd gone to Walt Disney World with a former girlfriend and her family. I'd seen the commercials for the ride and had anticipated the moment when I'd get to take the...
Pros: scary and thrilling. fastpass Cons: long line
On my third visit to MGM, I finally worked up the nerve to try this ride. The inside of the building was creepy. just like the haunted mansion at the Magic Kingdom. You get into a creepy old elevator. and enter...the twilight zone! You see the ghosts...
Pros: great setting, thrilling ride Cons: may cause motion sickness
Freefall. It's an amazing feeling. Not something you get to experience every day. But in Disney's Tower of Terror, you don't get to experience freefall. No, you are actually falling faster than freefall. The elevator doesn't fall, it is pulled...
On my 10th birtday, you'd think since I was in Disney Land that I would want to go get a hug from Mickey. Well sure, I did that too, but then my parents wanted me to try this ride called "Tower of Terror". Well.... all we knew is that it was...
Pros: Terrifying Fun!!! Cons: Not great for little kids.
I love the Tower of Terror! My kids love the Tower of Terror! On our first Disney World Trip the Tower was under construction - how disappointing, and titillating! Something to look forward to on future trips.
Pros: thrilling and exciting Cons: young children may be frightened
If there is ever one ride you cannot miss, this ride is the one. This ride is based on one of the old twilight zone shows where five people in a hotel are in an elevator and that elevator is struck by lightning and those people vanish, to be forever...
As I read the others opinion, I have to say, that I fully agree to their opinion.MGM Studios is really a great place for kids. But you have to see for yourself...especially that Hotel of terror. As you go through the resort and see Winnie the Pooh or...
Pros: AWESOME RIDE!!!!! Cons: Long line, but worth the wait.
I love this ride. 'Nuff said. The special effects are awesome, and the long wait is well worth it. The drop in itself is something to be reckoned with.
This ride is one of the more frightening I've been on. Sure, we've all ridden the...
Pros: One heck of a blast! A new kind of ride for Disney! Cons: Rough on the Body
The Tower of Terror is one heck of a ride. Up and Down you ride like the cowboy on the back of a big mean bull! After a wait that seemed like forever, we finally got in and got to strap into the seats. The Disney Cast ensured we were tightly buckled in!...
Pros: great thrill, theme, acceptable wait times, Disney classic Cons: bouncy at times on drops, not for height fearers
Time of Trip : November 2000, the latest of 9 vacations to Walt Disney World and the second in 2000. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror opened in the mid 1990's as part of the new Sunset Boulevard expansion at the Disney-MGM Studios.
Pros: The story line and the whole ride itself Cons: Not being able to tell how far up or down you are.
I have heard so many things about this ride, heard all the scary details, the raves... everything. When I finally got the chance to ride "The Tower of Terrors" it was fun, but it wasn't what I expected.
Once you have made it inside the...
Pros: Simply AMAZING; A great Storyline; The best atraction in WDW; Picture Purchase Availible; THEMED ALL THE WAY THROUGH Cons: Some can't go on; may frighten kids; line can bea little long at times; 48 in. required
"Please step all the way in, now don't get to pushy... There is room enough for everyone in this hotel... You'll all soon get what's coming to you... PAY ATTENTION PLEASE," the old man sreams as you enter the dusty library. You look...
Pros: Cool effects, background story behind every detail in the "hotel". Cons: Sweaty palms, white knuckles
You walk past a somber man (or Woman) dressed in a maroon bell man costume. They say "Enjoy your stay and the Hollywood Tower Hotel". All you can do is mumble something like, ok, sure. As your palms start to sweat and you look at your hands and you...
Pros: Adrenaline rush Cons: Not good if you have a weak stomach.
My husband worked at Disney World for nearly 8 years. When we married I asked him quite often to go to Disney and ride the rides. It was my idea of a date. Well, of course it was NOT his idea of a date being that he worked there and had to be there...
This is the most phenominal ride ever created. It is the true masterpiece of the the Disney Imagineers. The ride is more than a plummet. It is a full on sensory expierence. It is beautfly themed, there are little Twilight Zone relics scattereted here and...
Pros: Very Thrilling, Good Atmosphere Cons: Didn't go Up and Down enough times
Well, here's your chance ... I had heard all the stories and had been wanting to ride this thing since it came out ... I mean, when you can hear the people screaming and you're not even close to the ride; you know something's pretty scary ...
This ride is frightening, yet fun and exciting in it's own way. The lines are not very long because they have three elevators going at the same time, so it's not that bad. The whole set up is so cool. They make you scared even before you go in. The...
Pros: an excellent free-fall experience. Cons: almost too much; definitely not for the weak-stomached.
I first rode the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Disney-MGM Studio's free-fall drop ride, right after it opened. It was scary, but with only one drop, it was over before we even had a chance to realize what was going on. Disney changed the ride again, and...
I suggest the makers of this ride go find their nearest library (in case they're not sure, it's a big building with books) and look up in a dictionary the meaning of the word 'terror'. Then go and look up 'flim flam' while they're at it.
Pros: One of Disney's true thrill rides Cons: LONG LINES- use FAST PASS
This attraction is Disney at its best. Notice that I don't call this a ride. It is more than simply a ride. From the moment you enter the hotel and learn about its eery history(the electrical storm that short-circuited the elevator)until you board the...
Out of all the rides and all three major Disney parks in Orlando, this has got to be one of the best rides they offer. Not only is this ride one of the best at Disney, I think it could compete with most rides and most amusement parks.
Pros: free falls are fun Cons: The story line could be better
I have been on this ride many times and continue to enjoy it. You may want to try to ride it a few times to really have some fun. The last time we went on we waited until the end of the day when everyone else was streaming into Fantasmic. There was...
Pros: nostalgic and scary Cons: not for cardiac conditions
This is one of the two "Don't Miss" attractions of Disney/MGM. Pregnant mothers and those with cardiac problems need to peel off before getting on the elevator. But for the rest, it would be a tragedy to let it get away!
As in all...
Pros: Awesome theming, scary and thrilling, very fun Cons: Long lines, too intense for young children
I've always been an adrenaline junkie- I'll go on any roller coaster you put in front of me. But I hate the feeling of free-fall rides that I've been on before, in small fairs and other parks, such as "Double Shot" at Wild Adventures (Valdosta, ...
Pros: Wow! What a ride! And Fastpass is great! Cons: Knowledge of an old TV show really adds to the experience
From the Rod Serling invitation to enter The Twilight Zone, to the hotel "Bell-Hops" who strap you in and bid you goodbye with such lines as "I hope to see you at your room", Disney has a real winner on both U.S. coasts. While the ride at both MGM ...
Pros: The set up, a well developed ride. Cons: Scary for little ones
After my first time visiting Disney World in mid-March, MGM was a favorite place for me. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is the parks main highlight. Standing at 199 feet tall, The tower of terror is a drop n' plop thrill ride. The que lines for the ...
Pros: incredible special effects. High on the thrill chart Cons: NOT for chidren. Long waits.
The Twighlight Zine Tower of Terror is an intense and thrilling ride. Heading to MGM? Then head straight for this ride as soon as you get into the park. The lines are incredibly long, and you can avoid a very long wait if you pass the crowds at the ...
Pros: Dropping down an elevator shaft doesn't get any better than this! Cons: Well, if you are afraid of heights...
As far as Disney goes, most rides are aimed at the younger audience. So, it makes sense that the rides at Disney World are pretty tame in this child's fantasy land. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is the sole exception. This attraction located at...
Pros: fastpass, nice theme, friendly ride crew, most will scream. Cons: needs something more, seemed short, may give some headaches, drops short.
After hearing glowing reviews from my friends who have ridden the Tower of Terror I finally managed to make a trip to Orlando and see what I thought of the ride myself.
While my friends had talked about it and gave horror stories about how...
Pros: Fun ride for the brave of heart. Very cool concept and story behind the ride. Cons: Too intense for me. Not for everyone.
The "Tower of Terror" ride at Disney World's MGM Studios theme park is loosely based on the "Twilight Zone" series of yesteryear. You walk into the Beverly Hills Tower Hotel, dusty and cobwebbed, and move into a lounge. A TV tells you the sad story of ...
Pros: Just an unbelievable ride that only disney could do. Cons: Sometimes there is a little bit of a wait.
I have been in plenty of theme parks around the country and everyone of them has a free fall ride of some kind. Not one of them has taken the time that Disney has to make the free fall the climax of a complete adventure rather than just the whole ride. ...
Pros: Pro- This ride is the most exciting ride at both Disneyland, and California Adventure Park. Cons: Con- This ride is not for young children or those who are afraid of heights.
This ride is located at Disney's California Adventure Park in Anaheim California, and also at Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida. Disney's Tower of Terror is an out of body experience! The ride is based on the TV series The Twilight Zone. The ride is ...
Pros: Great Pre-Ride Effects Cons: Someone threw-up right before our turn.
We were at MGM-Studios Theme Park at Walt Disney World July 2002. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride was not as crowded as we expected it to be. We arrived around 1-1:30 pm (peak ride time) to find a 20-minute wait. Maybe the new Rock n Roller...
Pros: very exciting ride, thrill seekers only Cons: may have long lines
If you are visiting Disney's MGM Studios and you enjoy the "thrilling" type of ride, the Tower of Terror is for you. The usual warnings were never more true. If you have back or neck problems, are pregnant, or get motion sick-then do not go on...
Pros: Fast, heart pumping, ready for action Cons: Rode twice, line extremely longer the second time. Fastpass if you can!!!
AHHHHH...Don't Touch Me by dsblev, Jun 05 '07 Where to start with this ride. Oh Hello, would be where I would like to start. Being one of the most visible, and 1/2 foot short than the tallest, rides on the Disney-MGM Studios theme park The Hollywood ...
Pros: One of the few thrill rides on Disney property. Cons: There are now several "drops", rather than one big drop, which I liked better.
When the Tower of Terror was built, it was one of the first elevator-type "drop" rides in the world. And, in my experience, it's still the best. Most parks with this type of ride now simply have a metal cage on an open track and you freefall down a few...
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror located at the MGM Studios at Walt DISNEY World was a scream. I am 48 years old and was one of the oldest people on the ride the time I went but had a great time.
Pros: Themeing. Pre-Show. The Hotel Building both inside and out. Cons: Lines. Use the Fast Pass!
I don’t think that I was born daring. As a child, I lived near a great amusement park that had an old fashion wooden roller coaster. And, in all the years it was there, I never rode it once. Fear and fun did not seem to go
well together. But as I’ve...
Pros: Great thrill ride, has fastpass option Cons: Long wait
Even scorching heat and humidity didn't dampen the spirits of the people that waited in line to ride the Tower of Terror. The Tower of Terror is a sight for all those that enter Disney's Hollywood Studios. Towering over the streets of Old Hollywood looms ...
Pros: Themeing, Seatbelt Seat Cons: Lack of stomach churning drops
In July 1999 I ventured to MGM Studios with one ride in mind, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. I walked to the end of Sunset Blvd with the Hollywood Tower Hotel looming in the background. I entered the plaza area of the hotel (the queue line) and...
Pros: Fun if you like to puke, good theme, and scary cool! Cons: I'll never ride it again, that's all I have to say
It started out any regular vacation to Orlando, Florida. The sun was shining brightly, and everything was going so well. We went to MGM Studios, for a normal day at a normal park... Then suddenly it just had to happen. It just had to. My friend coaxed me...
Pros: Great staff. See friends' faces as they drop. Cons: Too rough and frightening.
Four years ago, my husband and I had our first real getaway as a married couple, since our honeymoon, at Disney World. One of the rides he absolutely wanted to try was this one. Not me! Because I was pregnant, it wasn't an option anyway, thank the...
Pros: Great Thrill seeking ride Cons: Kind of boring after riding the Rock N Roll Roller Coaster
This is another great ride located at MGM studios. Once again Disney has recreated yet another fantastic illusion. From the begining you are placed in the atmosphere that sets you up to believe that you are actually placed into the set of this movie....
Pros: FUN! THRILLING! WEE! Cons: Could really suck if you have back problems...
I just got back from my first ever trip to disney and my god was it fun. The Tower of terror made the expirence even better!!! I loved it. It was utterly amazing!
First after a looong line or a fast pass ( The SMART way to do it) you arrive in...
Pros: fun, scary but a fun scary, popular ride, can buy your pic Cons: none so far
I went to Walt Disney World in 1999 with my family. We did our best to see and do everything in each of the Walt Disney World Parks. But one of myfavorite attractions was the "Tower of Terror".
Pros: Great story-line, great atmosphere, scary ride, 3-4 elevators working at once Cons: The drops are jolting to the neck or back, the lines are long
While taking a break from reality my older brother and I went to Universal Studios and this was the first ride we went on. After watching the made-for-tv movie of the elevator earlier that day we bolted for the tower as soon as we entered the park. I...
Pros: Great effort put into just one ride! Cons: Really freaky and heart-stopping
As you enter the old hotel, a chill runs up and down your spine. The dimly lit and cobweb filled lobby envelops you, and the feeling to look over your shoulder washes over you. A gangly bell-hop leers at you from a corner.
Pros: Best Ride at MGM studios, totally thrilling experience! Cons: A little wait but Fast Track It!
Well I plunged all 13 stories last weekend or at least I thought I had. It was great, especially since there was a very bad rain storm with lightening going on at the same time as my ride! In 1939, a freak storm took off an entire wing of the hotel,...
Pros: a great thrill, not a long wait time (usually) Cons: not for kids of all ages
I have been on this ride probably about a dozen times, but nothing beats the thrill of the first time. My first time was shortly after the ride opened, but they have changed the ride a bit since then.
Pros: Lots of fun; thrill of free falling; line wasn't too bad;great picture at the end Cons: Not recommended for people scared of heights
My family visited Orlando in March-- wonderful time of year to be here because the weather is much cooler, and there are fewer lines for attractions. For that reason, the wait for Tower of Terror was only about 15-20 minutes. The scenery on the way into...
Pros: thrilling, Fast Pass is available to use for a shorter waiting time Cons: not for younger children or the faint at heart
Set at the end of Disney's MGM Studios' Hollywood Boulevard, the Hollywood Tower Hotel is an awe-inspiring building that is the source of many hair-raising experiences.
From the second one enters the gates that lead to the garden of the...
Pros: Fun. Great FX. High repeat value. Cons: Short. Can have long lines.
Disney World is full of neato rides that tend to have a diminishing "Oh Wow" factor. Unlike your typical amusement park, Disney World has lots of rides that are more plot than physical experience. Thus, their repeat value diminishes over...
Pros: A good, scary ride! Cons: Intense for many small children.
This is one of my favorite attractions on the entire Disney property. I have heard that the lines can be oppressively long, but I always travel in the off-season, and have never had to deal with that. I just came from there in January 2001, and walked...
Pros: Pure Disney Magic, Amazing Technology Cons: Absolutely None
Whether your first time on the tower or your hundredth time, the Tower of Terror will take your breath away (note to those weary, I'm only talking figuratively here).
Despite many people complaining about the quality of attractions being...
Anyone who loved the Twilight Zone will feel like they are in one of the episodes - This is a must. The Tower of Terror is one of the only reasons to visit the MGM Studio. It was great from the entrance and only got better. The employees are all...
Pros: Great atmosphere, very realistic, great speed of ride Cons: LONG, LONG lines due to the lines moving very slowly.
The Tower of Terror at Disney's MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida is the best ride I have ever been on in my life. Absolutely breath-taking----LITERALLY!
I rode this ride in December of 1997. My two trips upon the Tower of Terror occured at...
Pros: outstanding themeing and overall great experience Cons: can be scary and I still fear elevators!
Having just spent the last few months of my life working at Disney's MGM Studios, the home to the twilight zone, I have seen and heard quite a bit.
My personal experience with "tower", as it is known in Disney lingo, was at age fourteen. I went I...
Pros: So much fun, and scary too! Cons: Nothing!!!!
The Tower of Terror ride is one of the best rides at Disney World. Imagine being in an elevator that takes a free fall down 13 stories. Sounds scary, right? Well, the Tower of Terror ride is a free fall down 13 stories. If you are walking down Sunset...
Pros: Classic Disney attention to detail, intense thrill Cons: Long wait outside in sweltering heat, even with FastPass; pre-ride show difficult to see
I do not scare easily. I am the one that, on a typical roller coaster ride, can be found laughing hysterically at the sheer rush of it all. So when I heard the screaming emanating from our "elevator" car on the Tower of Terror ride at Walt Disney...
Pros: Most exciting ride ever! Cons: Very long lines during various parts of the day
Upon my two visits to Orlando and Walt DisneyWorld, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is absolutely the greatest ride in the three Disney theme parks. From the amazing graphics of the ride, to the breath-taking 13-story drop, this attraction will keep...
Pros: Different every time! Stomach in your throat feeling! Cons: Can have long lines at peek times
My husband and I just got back from our Disney Wedding. Even though we were quite busy, Disney just isn't the same without taking a trip to MGM for the Tower of Terror.
This is the 4th time Disney has revised the Tower. The number of...
Pros: All of it !!! Cons: The queues! GET THERE EARLY
Oh my God..the first and last time i EVER experience that ride. I couldnt make my mind up whether or not to go on but when we got there the queue was an hour and half! and the fast passes were giving them out for half past 8 (it was 6pm). We (me and my ...
Pros: Good setup to actual ride, just scary enough without making you physically ill. Cons: None for us, but I would imagine long lines on weekends.
We just got back from Disney, and we were able to sample many of the attractions since the lines were inconsequential due to cool weather (I guess).
The wait was 5 minutes for this ride. Myself and my 12 year old child went on.
The first step...
As any frequent Walt Disney World visitor will confirm, there are very few real thrill rides at this world-renowned amusement park. There are many more designed for the "kiddies." Tower of Terror is an exception.
Located in the MGM section of...
Pros: A thrilling ride Cons: Not for those who cannot handle major butterflies in the stomach
You step into the elevator after seeing an eerie video on the tower of terror history, being led by an eerie looking bellboy. You are strapped into your seat and start to rise thirteen stories. You look over all of the amusement park. Suddenly you see...
Pros: Heart pounding, breathtaking freefall Cons: Not enough drops
The entire ride is mesmerizing. The line you stand in snakes through the lobby of a 30's era hotel complete with original antique furnishings. The pre-show consists of the walk-through and a small presentation in the library of the hotel where Rod...
Pros: Lots of fun...rips your stomach right out Cons: Gave me a headache for a few minutes
The first time I rode on the Tower of Terror was when the pit was first built, and it was a mild disappointment. It took you up to the top, showed you the whole park, and dropped you about 40 feet before starting to slow your descent until you were...
Pros: It really is terrifying Cons: Not suitable for young children
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is one of my all time favorite rides. The first time I saw this ride, I was not intimidated at all. In fact, I figured it would be one of those boring, blow off rides. How bad could a ride in the middle of a children's ...
If you are a person who likes to get up high and scream then you should go
to Disney World MGM Studios and try the Tower of Terror the (Twilight zone)it is one of the most or maybe even THE MOST POPULAR RIDE in Disney World MGM Studios. But it has...
Pros: THEY DROP YOU MORE THAN ONCE Cons: THE RIDE TAKES 99% LESS TIME THAN THE WAIT IN LINE DID
A GREAT RIDE EVEN FOR SCAREDY CATS SUCH AS ME. THE COMPLETE DARKNESS BEFORE THE DOORS OPEN TO VIEW OUTSIDE (13 STORIES UP), JUST ADDS TO THE TERROR. THE ONLY THING THAT YOU MUST BE CAREFUL OF IS THE MIDDLE SEAT IN THE BACK ROW. IT HAS ONLY A SEATBELT,...
Pros: Another great Disney attraction! Cons: No cons to list here!
Being just one of the many great attractions that Disney has come up with, The Tower of Terror is a great and amazing ride. The great part is the way you fall 13 floors and feel what it is like to be in a falling elevator. The part that is amazing is the...
Pros: thrilling Cons: If you don't like scary..don't go
If you want a frightening, no make that terrifying ride, then this is it. This thing takes you to the stop as if it is going to be a nice scenic view of the park. It gives you just enough time to see the light of day and a nano second to enjoy the...
Pros: Fun, fun fun!!! O.K. for middle-aged women! Cons: This could scare some people.
I've been a ride junkey all my life and this is one fun ride. Others here have described it in pretty good detail so I'll just add a bit. One thing I liked about it is it didn't hurt my head and neck like some of the really fast roller coasters (Space...
Pros: If you like SCARY...this is it!! Cons: Not for young children
We loved THE TOWER OF TERROR! We were at D.W. in February and my 10 year old daughter still talks about it! I think the total darkness is one of the things that makes it sooooo scary...plus, of course, the Big drop..... my only suggestion is to Hang on!...
Pros: A great ride with lots of drops. Cons: You have to wait a long time in line.
This is one of the best rides at MGM, besides rock-n-roller coaster. This is a very good ride. The only problem with this is that it always breaks down and the line is always so long. Now, you can get the fast pass, which will keep the wait time down...
Tower of Terror 4=new sequence by qj411 ,Jan 30 '04
Pros: Quick moving lines (especially with Fast Pass), amazing thrill, love the theme/ambiance, BEST SCREAM. Cons: Almost peeing my pants each time. Soar throat from screaming uncontrollably.
Tower of Terror has a new sequence...I can't really tell the difference...but its STILL SCARY, STILL HAIR RAISING, and STILL the BEST ride at MGM.
Pros: Thrilling. Cons: Very Popular=Long Lines (Get Fastpass)
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Perhaps the greatest rides at Disney's MGM Studios. The movie is a ride. This ride takes you into The Twilight Zone. And into the very real Hollywood Towers Hotel. You are transported to that very night when the Tower of Terror came alive. It's a thrilling ride where you become those individuals who died in that same elevator. This ride takes you through the the Tower of Terror with a plunging end. I survived, will you?
Pros: Good family ride, good waiting area, great theme Cons: The lines are always long and the ride is pretty short
It's a good ride and a lot of fun. It's bark is much worse than it's bite. The theme is intense, but the ride is just fun, not very scary. You will drop a couple times and that's it. My 8 year old loved it!
Pros: Never gets boring!! Cons: Not for those who might get motion sickness or Vertigo
That's all I can say about the Tower of Terror!!! I didn't think I would like it, boy was I surprised!! It really shook me up. Plus, there are different ways that the ride can go! But eventually, they all end at the bottom! I didn't think it would be appropriate for my younger children, (ages 8 and 6). They however, insisted on following their big sister (16), so off we went!! We had one bang up time on it!!!
Pros: extremely thrilling, great storyline, scenic Cons: not for everybody...
I remember walking down Disney MGM's Sunset Boulevard and seeing the ol Tower for the first time when I was like 7 years old... Did I go on it? Hell yeah I did!
4 years later, that is. And with good reason! This ride is very scary for young kids. The buildup to the drop is intense for anybody, I don't care if your 6 or 36, you gotta be somewhat scared/excited before the drop(s). This ride is almost 10 years old and it hasn't lost any of its charm. Its extremely thrilling, exciting, and scary. The drops are still breathtaking. I think this will go down as one of the best thrill rides... EVER.
This ride is unlike anything you'll ever experience. It's definately not for the faint of heart however. Even if you feel like you're ready for it, it will certainly give you a fright or two. The fear is mounted not only in the drop itself, but in the dark, claustrophobic atmosphere. From the moment you step into the elevator to be seated until you exit at the end of the ride, you'll be on edge. It's not something that can be easily written about, it simply must be experienced. This is one attraction that cannot be missed!
Pros: Fun ride, great experience, great cast members Cons: popular, long wait
This ride really captured the feeling of being in an episode of the twilight zone. The building is amazing.
The view at the top is worth the ride and well worth the wait.
