Pros: Incredibly Friendly Locals and Vistas that you will never forget....
Cons: Expensive....Anything not made or grown in Hawaii is double the price of the mainland.

If night life, shopping malls, and laying around the pool while sipping fruity drinks are your idea of a great Hawaiian vacation, head to any island at all; but if you want a REALLY active outdoor experience, you'd have a tough time beating Kauai.

Pros: Magnificent views, still unspoiled areas

If I could choose a place to spend my final days, it would be Hanalei, the end of the world at the north end of Kauai. The beaches were wonderful, the life laid back, and the crowds seemed to be elsewhere. It's Bali Hai and beyond.
