Pros: really beautiful areas outside the cities, some places that are really worth a visit Cons: some roads are a nightmare
All right, let's write a review about a place where I was born. I live in Warsaw- the capital, don't really love the city but it’s a nice place to visit- this is exactly how I feel about Poland in general, although there some parts of the country that I...

Pros: It is a fun affordable country to visit. Cons: Many of the best parts of Poland were destroyed during World War II.
I should first get this disclaimer out of the way. My wife is Polish, and my ethnic roots are from the bordering country of Lithuania. So I could be accused of being a bit biased in my opinion.
My first trip in Poland was to the city of...

Pros: Cost, Unique Sites, Seaside City Cons: None
The decision to go to Poland was on a whim when we were in Germany in 1997. Gdansk is a city in Northern Poland that is located right off the Baltic Sea. Not a large city by any means, but a good size city, Gdansk is over a 1000 years old and has a...

Pros: Online- Great way to research Cons: Online- Unreliable for Poland's hotel reservations
Czesc! After my fourth visit to Poland, I have much to discuss about the current state of internet affairs. In 1996 I studied abroad here, which I followed with a Spring Break in Warsaw, and a summer living in Warsaw. I finally went back for a true...

Pros: Wholesome, satisfying, inexpensive selection of food Cons: Can be off the beaten track and intimidating for non-native speakers
If you've made it out of Prague and decided to visit Poland, congratulations! Poland is a beautiful country and finally getting some of its fair share of tourism.

Pros: Great historical value Cons: Feeling of sadness suffered there seems to linger
Warsaw, Poland, has had a long and often tragic history. It is an interesting city to visit, especially the Old Town. This part of the city was so destroyed during World War II, that it had to be reconstructed from a painting done by Canaletto. Our...

Pros: good night life, bustling city Cons: ugly as hell, cold and grey in winter
Warsaw
First of all, let me just say that Warsaw is not a big tourist city, it is a business city. Having been mostly leveled during WWII, there is little to see beyond communist blocks and some buildings that must have been beautiful in their...

On my last visit to Warsaw, I was surprised at the vibrancy of the city's gay nightlife. Sure, it's still ages away from the no-holds-barred orgies of San Francisco, or even the tourist-fueled Prague...

Pros: Rich history (a must to appreciate the trip), recent history (WWII), architecture, people, nightlife, atmosphere, April weather was beautiful (not too hot, not too cold, and no crowds yet) Cons: Language barrier for those too shy to try anyways(actually, muddling through learned phrases and learning more was some of the most fun I had)
I must admit that initially, the idea of visiting Eastern Europe was rather unappealing do me. I imagined dank dreary architecture accompanied by a culture of a similar nature. However, what a surprise I was in for. A month before I left I picked up a...
