Pros: Lovely picture, multiple input choices Cons: Heavy
Such a beautiful image, crisp sound, and a wicked, heavy television! The flat screen really does make a difference - something that you will quickly get used to. There is no glare like a standard TV, and the picture perfectly fills up the viewing area on...

Ok. I've had this tv for almost 3 years now. It's been a good tv and never really had any problems with it. For the longest time it was my main tv hooked up to my home theater receiver and dvd player, but finally I got enough courage to invest in a front ...

INTRODUCTION

Well, I went off to college earlier than most this year (June) so I needed a television for my dorm room. My Radio Shack pocket color TV just wasn't going to cut it, either. My dad is a Sony man, and we have a...
Pros: -Great picture quality -Good audio quality -Numerous input choices Cons: -No clock -Generic design -No menu button on front panel
The Toshiba 20AF41 I have was a recent trash/curbside find and had the common problem of failing to operate, clicking its relay every few seconds. I replaced a bad capacitor for less than $1 and the set operated normally. I was surprised what ...
Pros: Picture Quality. Input/Outputs. Sound control. Cons: I have used it so much, the numbers on the buttons faded :(
About 1 year ago, I decided to liven up my home entertainment system in my room. At the time, I worked at Best Buy and was able to look at all the TV's often. I already knew that I couldn't really have a TV that was too large, due to the size of the...
Pros: Affordable, quality TV Cons: None that I have discovered yet
I needed a new bedroom TV and have wanted a flat tube for a while. With only room for a 20" my choices were limited. There were offerings from Sony (WEGA), Sylvania, Panasonic and Toshiba. I think Philips also makes one but I could not find a model in a...
Pros: Good picture & great sound. Cons: Customer service stinks.
Remote buttons fall off and Toshiba customer service stinks. After 4 months of calls to customer service, and countless promises that it would be replaced, I finally gave up and bought another remote from Best Buy for $21 + tax & S/H, best $30 bucks I’ve...
Pros: Good picture and sound Cons: Poorly labeled and minimal on-set controls; terrible remote
This TV works as expected, and gives good picture and sound. Its main defect is poor controls, unlabeled on the set, and minimal. It is impossible in ordinary lighting to see which button is channel up, and which channel down; or volume up, volume ...
Pros: AMAZING picture quality, room for all your videogame consoles, DVD players, etc. Cons: No TV/Video button on the front
The one thing I absolutely love about this TV is the crispness of the picture. For gaming, nothing compares to this bright and clear television set. After playing Microsoft XBOX on this Toshiba, it was a little annoying/disappointing to play it on my...

Disappointed with picture quality by di40 ,Feb 24 '04
Pros: decent price for features Cons: picture has very bad shimmery quality with DVDs
Well, I did some research before buying a new TV. The Toshiba looked good from reviews, and in the store it seemed fine...I just sort of went ahead and bought it without studying the picture or sound. It's hard to tell from what they are showing on it in the store. They had an open-box buy for $200 and I was convinced it was tested by the store and would work fine (if not, I would take it back).
The image quality was very disappointing. It has a very noticeable shimmery, flicker type thing going on. It's VERY apparent when watching DVDs. Any sort of edge of something (a house, a pole, etc.) causes a multi-color shimmer. I am surprised no one has mentioned this. Maybe it has to do with the open box buy (however, I went and looked at the one on display and it seemed to do this---but maybe not as bad). So, I returned the thing and bought a Philips for 20 bucks less...and the picture is fantastic. Only thing about it is no 16:9 mode, but I can live without that.
