Pros: Cheap, widely available, cheap, nice sound, cheap Cons: You get what you pay for. Read the review.
A Little History These speakers were used in conjunction with a Sony SS-CN550H for the center channel and 3 Sony SS-MB150H cubes (not really, but they are small) in the rear. Two sets of the rears were actually purchased, but as the ...
Pros: Beautifully built with rugged construction. Extended bandwidth belies its meager price! Clean! Well balanced! Cons: Unsatisfactory Owner's Manual.
Although admittedly I have reviewed a few rather expensive pieces of equipment, I am myself on a limited budget and take a very frugal approach when buying a/v equipment as my wife and I have six beautiful but pocket hitting kids! That is not even to ...
Pros: Excellent sound. Great Price. Cons: Skimpy manual, could be more efficient, grills tight out of box (see review)
I saw in "Consumer Reports" that these speakers were rated excellent. That review was sure on target. First, after reading the review, I tried auditioning them at Best Buy, which is virtually impossible due to the noise from other departments and the ...
Pros: Low cost, responsive, flat and clear! Cons: none!
As a musician, I have very little money of which to gamble on 'the next big thing' in speakers, or for that matter, ANYTHING. As a producer of lively dance music, and an avid listener of jazz, classical, rock (and just about anything I can get my ...
Pros: Precise and uncoloured,
Woofer can boom if you give it enough power. Cons: Off-axis is lacking, highs can be harsh in some locations.
Seeking to revise the current stereo system in my bedroom (a really crappy integrated unit) I decided to actually build a system, but challenged myself to spend only about $100 on each component. Perusing Best Buy, I came across a pair of Sony ...
Pros: Clear, crisp, undistorted, full range. Cons: got to "push" the bass. (not a problem for home theater use)
I have a Kenwood home theater receiver that came with adequate matched speakers. I was ok with them till I heard a friend's paradigm front speakers. No way can I afford what he paid though...talk about sticker shock! I ran across these Sony's in a Rex ...

looking at bang for buck? These are your speakers! by fizzie_c319 ,Apr 09 '04
Pros: Huge sound with little price tag Cons: Kind of Large, Comes in any color as long as its black.
I purchased a pair of Sony SSMB350H's about a year ago, and ever sense then they have never failed to surprise me with how much sound they produce. From high frequencies to low frequencies these speakers are the bomb... I have yet to make them distort. Being a huge sound enthusiast, I started out looking at jbl and yamaha speakers, but none of their bookshelf speakers squeaked my rubber ducky. Basically I wanted something to blow the walls off my room. With spending countless hours online reading reviews of speakers, I finally gave up and decided to go to best buy to test some speakers out that I had been looking at. None of the speakers that I had been looking at met my goal... I jokingly looked at these sony speakers and said what the heck... My jaw dropped... I knew that these where the speakers that I wanted. I bought the speakers and set them up, put some rap on, and they almost put my JBL L5 speakers to shame(These JBL speakers where easily $800 - $1000 new). the only way that I was able to balance out my sound was to turn the sonys down...
Pros: great highs, solid mids and more bass than I ever realized. Truly very strong speakers. Cons: none.
I had spent the better part of 2 months listening to and reading reviews about different speakers. My current setup included a SONY STR-DE-545 A/V Receiver and a Panasonic PRO-SCAN DVD. My speakers were bargain basement, so it was time for a change. After reading reviews I decided that the best bang for my dollar was the SONY series. I purchased a pair of SSM-B350H as my front speakers to start my transition. Unbelievable, I put on the DVD for MOULAN ROUGE and heard music that I don't believe I ever heard before and the crispness of all levels is very clear.
The speakers were packed as if the people really cared that the product was delivered undamaged. The speakers themselves are mounted on 16" speakers stands by Omnimount and look great. They are a very well thought of product by SONY.
