Pros: Same Superfine high pitch tube as the XBR series, smaller price. Cons: Weighs over 200 pounds and still on the expensive side.
After purchasing my 3

Inch Toshiba HDTV television I wanted to try out one with a built in tuner. To clarify, any HDTV that is listed as an "HDTV monitor" has no built in tuner. One that is an HDTV television ...

Pros: Great when it's working Cons: Not the most reliable set? Did someone mention heavy?
I've had this set since 9/04. I think I was waiting for the shipment to arrive to pick it up, b/c at the time it was the clear pic for the price point with the integrated tuner and the cablecard setup. Now I'm one of the few out there that uses over the ...

Pros: Supports all formats except 1080p (in the future....)
Cons: None... yes it's heavy, but you knew that....
I have never been a Sony TV fan but I decided to try this one out. I can't stand plasma, LCD or RPTV and their horrible pictures that's why CRT is the way to go.
This TV is now discontinued and I got the last one in stock, in the box. Cheaper than the non-fine pitch 34" they have.
A small amount of pincushion effect on the lower right part of the screen but not bothersome enough and really, with a huge sized screen like this it's to be expected. The shortcoming of a CRT screen.
*UPDATE JULY 2008*
I've had this television for over two years now and still drool over the image quality. I've also had the opportunity to try it with a Blu-Ray player and the colors, hue, saturation and black levels are pretty much perfect. It's also hooked up to an OPPO 981 DVD player (see my reviews) with the image upscaled to 720p. No comparison to plasma or lcd. This television is perfect.
Since my original posting I have HDTV cable and now I find myself watching HD channels JUST for the amazingly beautiful picture quality.
