Pros: Slim design Cons: Poor high def performance, Severe Pincushion effect, Purplish artifacts when watching dark scenes,
I bought this TV just over a year ago. My first initial pick was a Samsung DLP but due to their limited stock at the time, I settled for the LG. Right from the start I could notice absolutely no difference between high def and regular broadcasts. Regular ...

Pros: It has a big picture. Easy menu and remote. Cons: Constant electrical break downs. Poor customer service from seller. Mediocre picture.
I purchased this unit in Dec 04 from Best Buy. Who, by the way, I will never deal with again. To this date, I have replaced 2 lamps, a ballast, a light engine and test and am waiting for the repair people as I write this to come and repair the color. ...

Nice TV - Short lamp life
by aa060740 ,Jun 06 '06
Pros: Awesome picture Cons: Expensive to own
I have had this TV for 17 months (still making payments) and the lamp has reached end of life. (Avg about 4 hours a day viewing). The lamp is $220 at LG but you MUST have a technician be onsite to reset the lamp timer at a cost of $230 (per service center that LG directed me to).

Pros: good picture quality. Cons: you should be informed of the short lamp life and the expense of fixing lamp.
lamp burned out at 23 months requiring a tech visit and a $350.00 new lamp. If this is the quality of the product you should be informed prior to purchase.

This TV sucks!!
by carevry ,Nov 07 '09
Pros: Nice picture when working. Cons: The engine is also going out. The lamp always needs replacing.
I have had this TV for 4 years now and have had to have 4 light engines replaced in it. I have also had 3 lamps, the on/off button, and the temperture light replaced as well. the last engine did not even last 6 months before it started acting up again. Now, this newest engine keeps overheating. I even videotaped it. Now Best Buy will not let me go and pick out another TV because I purchased the extended warranty. Do you blame me for wanting to extend the warranty. After the 4th engine was replaced I received a receipt from the tech. If I would not have extended my warranty it would have cost me $2271 to get it fixed. Only to have it start overheating on me. Now Best Buy can not figure out why it is doing that, so they want to take my TV to their shop. I don't think so. I they can't figure that out then it is not my problem.

Avoid this piece of s**t tv
by oc63rag ,Apr 27 '07
Pros: Great picture Cons: Very, very short life and expensive - never again LG
The lamp just gave out after two years. The lamp itself is about $300 and the service to install the lamp/reset the timer is about $250. I expect much better quality and service for anything in this price range.
Do your research and find one that lasts.
"LG - Life's Good", maybe for the corporation, not the consumer.
