Not even worth the $15 I spent.

by torobyte , Sep 09 '04
Pros: Very easy to operate, both camera and software.
Cons: Best resolution is just so-so. Sometimes camera locks up.
I purchased this camera for my boys to use. I figure if they break it, then I don't lose much. I tried it out first. The pictures are just okay for the measly 320x240 resolution...and that's the high setting. You will only get 19 pictures in memory. The ...

Pros: Exccellent time and cost saver for ID and documentations
Cons: Instructions could be imprinted on camera
This I concepts cheap camera is a low cost ideal medium for documentaion and identification. All employees carry for instant - picture is worth a 1000 words - communication and 10-20% ancillary cost savings.

Waste of time and money.
by kaffy283 ,Mar 21 '04
Pros: extremely light (that could also be a con!), pretty, cheap
Cons: drains battery life, no lcd display.
This is the worst mistake I ever made. I saw it on the net at Office max, and told a friend to buy it for me (I live overseas). When i installed it, it worked fine, but as soon as I took off my pc and put it on again...KABOOM! Windows conflict, nothing works, cant open a single program, all the virtual memory is in use with this ???...I had to spend a heap of money to get my pc repaired. Carried the software cd to the pc repair ppl, as soon as the installation cd goes into the system, the systems reacts negatively. And get this..it does not have an uninstall program, so if u think u can get rid of it just like that...think again...u have to reboot the entire C drive. Save yourself the heartache...FORGET ABOUT IT!

Cheap but can serve a useful purpose.
by jeffpnovak ,May 05 '04
Pros: Cheap, Cheap, Cheap. Light - Fairly compact.
Cons: No flash, Poor picture quality, no LCD.
Paid $10 for this camera so that I can keep it in my fishing vest inside a plastic baggie and not have to worry about getting it wet and destroying an expensive camera. Sure the pictures are garbage and there is no flash on the camera but what can you expect for $10!?! Software works fine for my computer running Windows XP SP2 and the camera interface is a little different at first but anyone with 1/2 a brain can figure it out in 5 minutes.

This camera works great as a disposable/junk camera to take pictures so you have proof of your trophy fish from now on.

Do not buy this camera for your once in a lifetime vacation... duh.

Not Even a Good Paperweight
by onejbryan ,May 06 '04
Pros: The USB cord seems perfectly functional.
Cons: Extremely bad picture quality, terrible battery life, total piece of junk.
I bought this cheap and expected the pictures to be low quality, but this is ridiculous! The picture quality is so bad that it looks like I forgot my glasses. You can't even make out a persons face if you take the picture from 5 feet away. This isn't even worth the $10 I spent on it, because it cannot take a useable, legible picture.

Iconcepts 69052 Drains Batteries
by gwh1960 ,Oct 27 '03
Pros: Inexpensive, portable
Cons: Very poor battery life
This camera seems to drain the batteries even when turned off making it difficult to recommend for use where the batteries cannot be immediately removed after usage and replaced for the next use

Avoid like the plague!
by myke_blakeman ,Nov 06 '03
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Doesn't work
I bought this camera as a cheap introduction to digital photography for my seven year old daughter. I wasn't expecting much from it and even I was disappointed. It seemed to take the pictures, it's hard to tell since there is no lcd or anything to confirm this.

When I tried to download the pictures to the computer I had no success. The software just didn't seem to work, I even downloaded all the updates from the company website and this did not help. After many hours of trying I emailed their support people, guess what, never even got a reply! I don't think I could recommend this camera to anybody.

by ray916mn_dt3000 ,Nov 24 '02
For $10 after rebate, this is a gret deal. Works perfectly as a Yahoo webcam. Amazing number of features for what amounts to the cost of a disposable film camera. Not a competitor for my 4megapixel camera, but if I can buy more of these to use in high camera risk situations, I'll be getting them. Probably make a great stocking stuffer for family members during the holidays.

Just a few tips when...
by cidgy_dt3000 ,Feb 16 '03
Just a few tips when using this digi cam, don't take pictures after 8PM, if you have the slightest shake of the hands, You know?.. or ~~~(like that); and you may not want to use it if you get a chill easily. If you do, you can count on a blurry picture(s). You may even feel a bit self conscious when you realize your hands tend to shake more than they used to. I was standing still and took a picture that looked as if I had taken it during an earthquake. This is definitely not a dusk or dawn camera. It fails to produce clear images or do well if it is not used in full sun light, the best details that can be seen; are all the pixels. But my children just think its the best! I also purchased mine for $10. Three weeks later, my sister gave me a camera that produces excellent images that are clear, defined and very colorful, the image quality is like a kodak print. The 69052 would do in pinch. Do not expect good quality, it is what it is, and nothing more.

by indygirl_dt3000 ,Mar 30 '03
I bought this camera to take to college so I can email a few pics home to my family and friends. It isn't so heavy that I don't want to carry it aroud and I wouldn't be upset if it was damaged. The pictures I took outside were excellent and those inside were so-so. Basically, this is a good camera if you just want to get a few pictures to send over the internet. Use film for important occasions.

What do you want for...
by doonseburger_dt3000 ,Feb 28 '03
What do you want for 10 bucks? Mine works fine, yes it's blurry, and you need a lot of light. Pictures look like they're underwater. I plan to keep it in my car in case I have an accident and need pics. Keep the batteries out when not using it -- it drains them. Software worked well. I had to brighten everything using photo editing software -- pictures came out dark. If you want good pictures buy a real camera, but if you just need something fast, this is okay.

The price of the camera...
by bookernoe_dt3000 ,Oct 23 '02
The price of the camera says it all. Cheap camera, poor quality digital images. The set digital image resolution (72 dpi) is not printed on the box anywhere. When I viewed the first image this was quite evident. The resolution can only be found in the poorly written instruction booklet included with the product. To make matters worse, as of 10/23/2002 the IConcepts webpage is still under construction thus negating the need for the "download" link from the image editing software. Hopefully when IConcepts gets their website up and running they may offer some software upgrade to improve the image quality. At a "throw-away" price of $10 after rebate at Officemax I will sit patiently and wait to see if this happens. If you are still thinking about buying and you have a scanner, scan a real photo that you have at 72 DPI and see if you can live with that type of quality. Then make your decision.

by akalana_dt3000 ,Dec 03 '02
Very cheap, however the price does say it all. Picture quality was poor, a flash might help. Pictures appear granular, making the picture hardly viewable. The software does not work well in 2000, however works fine in XP. Had issues downloading pictures from the camera in XP, seemed sentimental. (Worked sometimes, other times, didn't) I would recommend paying more for a digital camera. Returned 3 cameras back to Officemax.

FIRST, make sure you buy...
by wbg83_dt3000 ,Nov 29 '02
FIRST, make sure you buy the newer version of this camera. OfficeMax currently has two on the shelves; get the one that says it has an "LCD display." It has tons more features than the older one that doesn't even have a picture counter. This review refers to the newer one. The iConcepts camera is a flat-out BARGAIN for $15 (currently $10 after rebate) at OfficeMax. Resolutions: 352x288 high-res (38 pics) 176x144 low-res (152 pics) With the continuous-shoot mode, you can take 10-second videos that are at least recognizable. Just to be fair, the pictures are much less clear than 35mm pictures taken with a regular camera. However, they aren't too bad. Also, unlike other cheap digital cameras, you can take pictures with the iConcepts camera inside in good light. This camera does everything that the $49 Argus digital camera also sold at OfficeMax does, but better and at 1/5 the price. Bottom line: a digital camera for the price of disposable 35mm Wal-Mart camera. Not bad.
