Pros: Great Shave, well made, cord/cordless, German made Cons: Can't rinse under a faucet
Let's get a few things straight first. Many reviews compare electric shavers to a "straight razor" meaning a Mach III. A Mach III is a "safety razor" and "straight razor" is a single blade like you see in a barber shop. I am one of those lucky guys ...

The Best Shaver on the Market!
by zhukh ,May 26 '05
Pros: Very clean shave
Doesn't irritate skin
Easy to use
Good quality
Very inexpensive Cons: None!
I have been shaving since I was sixteen. I have a very thick Mediterranean beard and have always had problems with irritation and razor bumps. I bought the Grundig after a 4 years of shaving with the newest Gillette models. The Grundig does a MUCH better job with shaving tough, problem areas (neck and beard), doesn't irritate (even on the first several shaves) and is a very light and easy to use shaver. I have also tried a Braun and a Norelco shaver before. The Braun was too heavy and didn't shave cleanly enough. The Norelco also didn't provide a clean shave and didn't hold the battery charge.
The Grundig does a much cleaner shave than even a Gillette M 3! I recommend it to everyone who has a tough beard, neck irritation, and razor bumps.

Awesome Shave!
by mpb89 ,Jul 17 '05
Pros: Close shave, long life battery. Cons: Trimmer came apart for no apparent reason.
I too have a heavy beard. This shaver was my dream come true. It handles all very well, including the neck. The battery life is great after a few initial charges and the quality appeared good. However, tonight, the trimmer came apart for no apparent reason. It will not go back together. This is a vital part of my shaving routine so it sucks, big time. Waiting on customer service. I'm sure it will be fine.
I'm guessing it's just a small defect. Other than that, this shaver is AWESOME! I would not buy any other. I have had Brauns and Norelco's. None compare to this shaver.

I have a heavy beard...
by neilnatlanta_dt3000 ,Oct 05 '02
I have a heavy beard and normal to sensitive skin and have been looking for the holy grail that leads to a smooth-shaven look that lasts all day, for years. I used Norelco shavers for years and they were ok, but my five o'clock shadow would appear about an hour after the shave. I 've tried the Panasonic Linear. It tore-up my face wet, and was ineffective dry. But as a guy who has a challenging beard/skin type combination I really like the Grundig FX3. It's fast and close with no irritation. Exactly the kind of thing you would expect from a high end German electronics maker. My beard is still growing back pretty fast but the Grundig shave lasts longer than anything else I "ve tried and I have tried them all. And I didn't have to wait 3-4 weeks for my beard to adjust to it. it worked almost from the first shave. Grundig doesn't have a big brand recognition in America and that is a shame.
