Easy to use and beats wring and rinsing the mop in a bucket of water by cynthia1542003 ,Feb 17 '04
Pros: Really easy to use and drys instantly without having to worry about anyone slipping. Cons: The water filter needs to replaced and the mop pads seems to wear out easy.
I just purchased this product last night and I tried it out once I got home. I found out that this product is really easy to use and beats the moping with a bucket of water and trying to wring dry the mop and rinse. On thing I dont like about the bissell is that the water filter needs to be replaced in which I will probably have to order directly from bissell. It seems to clean with ease but the mop pads seems to where out easily. I just used the pad once last night and today I noticed after bleaching and rinsing out the pads that they seemed really dingy like they have been worn out.
excellent product. I purchased it and have never regretted my choice. It even removed dried up paint on the floor. I would never return to a wring mop.
Pros: chemical free, heats up in seconds Cons: mop heads hard to put on, and wash up well.
I reviewed this web site before purchasing this mop and was sold on what all the other reviews had to say, they were correct. I had heard about the steam mop but wasn't sure if it really worked, and it does.I have a new baby and didn't want him to breathe all those chemical fumes plus he's on the ground constantly dropping food and such forth, and this is a great mop, it dries quickly so he can crawl right on it no holding him for 20 mins while the floor dries.
my only concern is the mop heads they are hard to put on and mine didn't wash up to well the dirt stayed on even after i soaked them in bleach and put through the machine and one started fraying already, but my mop came with 4 heads, and the other 3 were fine.
I have recomended this to all my friends, we have hardwood floors thoughtout our house and it is great, heats up in seconds.
I love my steam mop & look forward to using it! by kristinah ,Jun 01 '04
Pros: Easy, dramatic results, no better way to clean my hardwood floors! Cons: Terry mop heads shrink in the wash & are a challenge to put on.
It was a great day when I purchased my steam mop for my hardwood floors. Once you use the steam mop & see how much dirt you get off of your seemingly-clean floors, you'll be a convert! I vacuum first, then steam mop, changing out the terry cloth mop heads often (I purchased 8 extras from Bissell, so that I don't just push dirt around on the floor). I do wish that that terry cloth mop heads were elastic so they would go onto the mop head more easily, but I might just custom make myself some soon.
I personally don't think there is *any* better way to clean my floors. I joked with my mother-in-law recently (who also purchased one & recommended one to her sister-in-law) that I am simultaneously delighted and horrified by the dirt that gets mopped up. Also, my mother recently borrowed my mop and steam cleaned her travertine shower - worked like a charm!
Pros: Well designed, ease of use, no cleaning products required, releases soil in floors with texture. Cons: Requires replacement filter & pads(unknown how long the filter lasts, cost of filter).
This is a great product. Easy to use, well designed, and one product I can truly say does what it says it will do. This product uses only water saving on cleaning supplies and the water tank is easy to fill and empty when done. The steam mop pads slip on and can be thrown in the washer and dryer to keep clean. Would recommend buying extra pads though (approximately $8-$10 for pack of 2. The pads can be somewhat difficult to slip on but I found by dampening them first, they were much easier to put on. The storage clip that comes with it makes it easy to store and handy for use. I would thoroughly recommend it. Watch for sales as I found a big variation in pricing on this product ($49 to $79).
Pros: No solutions and replacement pads - does the job Cons: Cord is alittle short
I just picked up this unit last night - it was very easy to assemble - just a couple of screws. I didn't really read the directions - just jumped in - at first I was disappointed because I didn't get any steam - but after about a minute lots of steam appeared.
It seemed to cut thru our annoying dried up juice slips very well. I did have to work on a dried up piece of veggie - but it came up after a good steam. I think this product is just what I have been looking for. I am very excited about not needing to depend on solutions and replacement pads - great for the environment and my wallet.
I also thought it was very easy to use - it reach under the counters and table nicely. Alittle heavy but not to bad
Wonderful- love cleaning the floors now by michelle11_5 ,Mar 09 '05
Pros: Ease of use, no chemicals, quick. Cons: You're gonna need more cleaning pads.... just add that when considering the purchase...
I hate mopping, hate buckets, hate cleaning the mop after using it.... I LOVE my steam mop, it's so convenient.
Very easy to use, easy cleanup afterward. I don't have to worry about chemicals or sticky floors when I'm done.
Pros: Light, easy to use and really WORKS! Cons: None so far!
I just bought the Bissell Bare floor steam cleaner. I couldn't believe how much dirt it got up. I just cleaned my hardwood floors with cleaner yesterday and when I used the Bissell today, the mop head was filthy. Gross gross gross!!! It is very light, very easy to use, heats up very quickly and I think that the mop heads are easy to get on and off. I am very very pleased! I was able to get it out of the box and start using it in 10 minutes.
Pros: Steam REALLY lifts out the dirt; microfiber covers sop it up like crazy. Cons: I have a closet full of mops, rags, buckets, etc., to get rid of.
Almost didn't buy this after reading some negative reviews...glad I gave it a try! I have a very unprofessionally installed tile floor, very uneven, rough- finished tile. Light colored, of course. Three dogs and myself traipsing through the mud/dog room and kitchen all day after coming in from a muddy yard. I really thought it was hopeless. Tried a sponge mop, rag mop, hands-and-knees scrubbing. What a pain. Took forever and result was marginal. This steam mop took a fraction of the time, cleaned really, really well. I couldn't believe those microfiber covers did such a great job. By the time I finished, the floor was already dry where I had started. And NO chemical smell...just clean.
Woo Wee! Thank you Lord! Love it! by christe ,Sep 01 '05
Pros: Easy to use, lightweight, cleans beautifully, no chemicals and excellent price. Cons: Nothing I can think of.
This steam mop is excellent. I purchased it at a clearance price of around $62 which I was very pleased. I assembled it and plugged it in. The only thing that hung me up was the fact that I needed to hold the trigger down several seconds initially to get the water through the filter. (The book stated "It will take several seconds but didnt know I had to hold trigger, stupid me.) I thought it would go through on its own so i waited quite a while. Once I got it going, the mop proved itself over and over. Super easy to use, very light, no chemicals and cleaned wonderfully. I have a very, very large kitchen floor with textured ceramic tiles and one small female pomeranian pup. I love the fact that it sanitizes as it cleans and boy does it get hot! It comes with 2 mop heads and a storage rack.
Im really quite pleased and have already told all my friends.
Not for REALLY dirty floors by nikkizern ,Dec 21 '04
Pros: Inexpensive and sturdy. Worked great on my light traffic tile. No chemicals! No residue! Cons: Not great on sticky spots. Recommends distilled water. Left water spots on wood. Short cord.
This Bissell put together quickly and is very sturdy. The mop pad went on relatively easily and the water tank fills and installs quickly. The cord was too short to get across my entire kitchen. You have to hold the trigger the entire time you're mopping and that can make your hand cramp if you're doing a lot of mopping. It would be nice if it had a lock. Also, Bissell recommends using distilled water for best performance.
Tile: I had a lot of sticky spots to contend with and even after several slow passes (with pressure) I had to bend down and scrape with my fingernail. It also wasn't able to get much out of the grout. I had to go back over that by hand. It doesn't glide as smoothly as my regular microfiber swivel mop does, either.
Sealed hardwood: It left noticeable water streaks and spots on the finish.
I think it would work exclusively for someone who doesn't have kiddos or pets, but not for our family. We're going to need some chemicals for those heavy cleanings. I found it for $39 at Lowe's so I will keep it for lighter mopping and touch ups.
Pros: Everything-My floor is finally squeaky clean! Cons: none so far
I have tried many mops and this is the best-crusted on food that my old mop couldn't touch, with this you just go over it a few times and it comes right off. The cord is on the right side, but not a big deal, I just hold it to the left, and if I plug it in the middle of my kitchen it reaches everywhere, and my kitchen is 25' long by 15' wide. One tank of water to do the whole kitchen. Holding the trigger is not a big deal either, because that's where you hold the handle anyway. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!
Pros: Cleans up spots and spills nicely. Cons: Hard to put on mop heads and falls over easily.
I've had my steam mop for a couple years now and am getting frustrated with it. The mop heads are hard to put on unless they're wet. I have to vacuum or pre-mop the bathroom tile before I use the wet mop or it just pushes dirt around and I have to wipe it up. I can't turn it on and off and it falls forward very easily. While it does wash up spots nicely, I wish I could find something that doesn't require an arm wrestle with the mop heads and I wish it had an on/off switch.
Our builder advised us against using the mop on wood floors. That was after I tried it and it had already melted the polyurethane coating on the floor. They also advised against using it on the tile and grout; but I do it anyway.
Pros: Easy to use. Easy to manuever. Cleans reallly well! Comes with 2 mop heads. Cons: None so far!
The steam mop is easy to use and manuevers nicely. It worked equally as well on the hardwood floors, stone tile and linoleum. You don't need to pull the steam trigger very often. The more you pull it the wetter the floors get. The steam really loosend the dirt. We are retiring every other mop-like item in our house and we have several!
WORSE THING EVER-DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! by jayandjay ,Oct 05 '07
Pros: easily glides, and thats about it. Cons: Leaves floors soaking and i mean soaking sopping wet and streaky and does not clean
I bought this steam mop after reading reviews and I have to tell you I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I don't know know what other people are talking about as it left my laminate floor streaky and SOPPING WET. It took my floors at least 20-30 minutes to dry, and after that I had to go and dry them with paper towels and the paper towels were dirty after drying them. I am returning this product after only one use and am going to TRY the shark steam mop. This new and improved bissell mop is JUNK!!!!!
Great tool - leaves floor feeling very clean and is very easy to use. by stsagris ,Oct 09 '07
Pros: Cleans easily and efficiently. Cons: It is a good idea to purchase extra microfiber pads- they get dirty quickly.
I was looking for a way to clean my hardwood floor and bathroom floors without using any chemicals. This tool is great - I read a lot of really great reviews and decided to give it a try. This website worked because the reviews are accurate. My floors feel amazingly clean and not sticky like after cleaning with chemicals. My house feels much healthier now. I was a little worried about using water on the hardwood floors but I have read and heard from relatives that this is OK. I have already recommended this product to friends.
Pros: No chemicals
Squeaky clean floor you feel like you can eat off of!
Dries quickly Cons: You need to vacuum or sweep up first so you don't push junk around
After reading many reviews in various places, I decided to purchase this mop a couple years ago (and purchased extra mop pads and filter that I haven't had to replace yet.)
I loved the idea that there were no chemicals to use and it cleans our ceramic tile kitchen floor (and tile bathroom floors) better than anything else.
I will say that I have a large kitchen area and I switch mop pads halfway through. I do need to use a small grout brush for any spots that may have sunk in a bit. I steam then scrub and steam again.
I love it!
Pros: Inexpensive, not too hard to operate, easy to clean up Cons: Terry cloth pads come off too easily, esp on slate floor.
I just bought this item after reading the reviews. I needed something to clean my slate floor. It had gotten somewhat ruined by home improvement projects. Drywall dust gets everywhere! This mop really helped get rid of that white powdery film. It didn't get the grout as clean as I would have liked but it looks much better than before. I also like the mop for cleaning my bathroom floors. I wasn't really happy with the way it did my pergo floors. I'll have to try it again to see if it will do a better job (no streaks)
Pros: Lightweight, does a great job cleaning, quick drying time. Cons: The cleaning pads are difficult to change easily.
This is a great product I use almost daily. It really cleans my tile kitchen floor in no time at all and I have quite a bit of tile to clean! It also dries very quickly allowing my family to get back in the room sooner than later!
Pros: Easy to use, Cleans well, Safe around Pets, Ready immediately Cons: Hard to push, Needs more cloth heads
I purchased this item based on the previous reviews here and I love it. It did take me a few minutes to get used to using it as it is very hard to push at first (I figured out pulling it works best). I have pets and wood floors throughout my home and my primary goal was to get something that did a great job cleaning but which I didn't have to worry about the pets walking in wet chemicals. The water doesn't leave a dull residue on floors like my swiffer mop did and the floors are literally squeeky clean. My pets followed me around as I was using it and I didn't have to worry about them stepping where I'd just mopped. I like the trigger handle because I can take a break and leave it plugged in without having the steam flowing out. It was ready to go almost immediately after being plugged in, which was surprising. It took only a few minutes to assemble too. I realized though that I need to purchase more cloth heads as the 2 provided are not going to be enough.
Pros: No cleaners, just water Cons: Tank always leaks, AWFUL to get pads on even w/o drying, short cord
I just don't see how others just love this. The water always leaks out of the tank. I have replaced the tank & caps several times and they always leak. I am tired of wrestling with the mop pads. I rip a nail every time. Sure, it is better than a mop & pail, but it could have been so much better. I can't even get the cleaning lady to use it. She hates the leaking water too. I am going to try a Steamboy.
Pros: Actually cleans the floor, unlike regular mops Cons: Takes a bit more effort than regular mops
For years my wife and I needed a mop (as we all do!) but could never find one that really did the job. Swab types just wetted the floor and sponge types did no better. Both required a bucket or sink full of water to keep cleaning the swab. My wife got so frustrated with them that she decided to clean the floor on her hands and knees. Me not wanted to be seen as a slave driver (though I later found other people that did also clean their floors on hands and knees) got on the net and found the Bissell mop and read more on epinions. We got it and like it alot. My wife made the same comment another reviewer said, that it does not glide across the floor very easily. Heck, if it did glide easily like a sponge, I figure it aint cleaning! However, I would not recommend it for an older person with arthritis or weak arms.
Pros: It was very easy to use. Cons: It is a bit heavy.
I saved Canadian MasterCard Choice Rewards and decided to order the Bissell Steam Mop on the basis of the reviews I read at Epinions. Com. It was very simple to assemble upon delivery. I was able to affix the handy hanging device to the inside of my broom closet with no difficulty. I used it for the first time today. One fill of the water receptacle with filtered fridge water, using my Brita Filtration pitcher, was all that was required to clean an average size foyer, a ten foot by ten foot kitchen, three stairs, a back hallway, main bathroom,Master bathroom and a PetStep Dog Ramp. My home is 1347 square feet, so the rooms are a fair size.
Pros: Light, creates steam fast, floor dries quickly. mop head goes in the wash. Great product. Cons: you may have to go over muddy floors more than once
We purchased the Steam Mop about 3 months ago, and its works very well on our ceramic tile floors. It generates steam in 30 secs or less, and with a pull of the trigger you're cleaning. It's light, hides away nicely, and has 2 mop heads that slip off and you throw them in the washing machine. The floor dries very quickly and it's a breeze to use.
Pros: gives your floor a great shine, heats up in thirty seconds. Cons: Price varies a lot so shop around. Mine, Lowes, 39.99
This Bissell Steam Mop 1867 is the best piece of floor cleaning equipment I have ever used. Is cleans deep down grime, it cleans quickly, easy to use, lightweight. The shine on my floor is the best I have ever seen it since the floor was brand new! Some one might think that elastic bands on the mop pad would be better but the elastic can wear out and then the pad you be useless. The string with toggle is a good idea. Would recc. to everyone. --N
Pros: Lightweight; cleans very well; very clear instruction manual; good size mop head. Cons: Have not experienced any negative aspects of this product.
Using this steam mop is far easier and more efficient than a mop and bucket! Bissell is a well-known brand and this mop lives up to the expected quality. The water reservoir is large enough to clean several large rooms and is easy to fill. The cord length is also very adequate to reach a large area. This is a lightweight vacuum and easily maneuverable. Swivel head makes for easy cleaning in a variety of spaces. I was very skeptical about steam mops in general, but am very happy I tried this one.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR EFFORT by juliemcd ,Sep 01 '08
Pros: Lightweight Cons:
Water tank too small, cord too short, leaves floor very wet, streaks, didn't clean well.
I just bought it last night and hope they will take it back. For all my wood and tile floors it would take all day to clean. The tank is small and refilling is a pain. The cord is toooo short and I can't even finish one room without moving the plug to different outlets. It leaves the floor wet and streaky and really didn't clean the dirty spots. There are only two adults, no children.
It should have an on/off switch.
I thought it would replace my Swiffer and other mops but it doesn't. Would not recommend it.
Pros: No chemicals, fresher smelling room, shines old vinyl, machine washable mop heads, fully self-contained Cons: I wish the cord was longer. No complaints about the quality of the steamMop.
Our house has what appears to be 20 year old vinyl in the kitchen. I would never have believed it could shine. After mopping with the steamMop it shines. I was surprised that the air smells fresher after mopping with the steamMop. I have a little dog that spends much of his time with his nose to the floor in the kitchen looking for goodies that someone has dropped accidentally. It's nice not to have to worry about dangerous chemicals around him. I have a long, eat-in kitchen. A longer cord would be nice. The mop heads are 100% cotton so they do shrink after washing. Minimize shrinkage by hanging to dry. Before purchasing the steamMop I read in a review to wet the mop head before putting back on mop and it goes on easily. That works very well. My overall experience with the steamMop has been excellent!
I love My Brissell 1867 - I want to give it as gifts. by winnersfinish ,Sep 06 '06
Pros: Easy to use, cleans tile, hardwood, gleaming, makes mopping easy fast and less time. Cons: Absolutely no cons
I have a Brissell 1867. Have had it for over a year, would not want to give it up. Honestly I can tell you, I think it is the best cleaning mop I have ever used. I have bragged so much about it to all my friends and family.
The trouble is I have looked everywhere in Nova Scotia Canada, as well as the Internet and can't find any company to ship to Nova Scotia Canada. Please email me at winnersfinish@hotmail.com. I have at least three in the coming year I would like to buy for weddings, and house warmings.
Please help

Bissell comes through again! by markley4 ,Sep 22 '03
Pros: Cleaning power, attractiveness, heats up quickly, easy to assemble! Cons: Getting the cleaning mop on can be a little frustrating at times!
With a large kitchen and 2 bathroom floors that need daily cleaning, our Swiffer WetJet was only doing so much. While shopping in Lowe's, we came across the Bissell Steam Mop and decided that it was worth a try - the Bissell reputation made it that much more attractive. I have only one word to say ... WOW! After using chemicals to clean my floors and having to tell my 2 boys "don't step on the kitchen/bathroom floors for 10 minutes", it sure is nice to have freedom! NO chemicals, NO waiting - nothing but clean floors! And it is an absolute joy to use! Looks nice, comes with a wonderful little hanging tool (or looks perfectly OK sitting in the corner of the kitchen). This thing is wonderful - heats up almost instantly and my floors are clean in no time - when done, just pop the cleaning cloth in the wash! NO cleaning pads to buy - Yipee!
Pros: Ease of use, heats quickly. Swivel head. Cons:
If there are any I haven't found them
Several years ago I had the Bissell 1867 white steam cleaner. When we moved to Florida my kitchen floor wasn't as large as the previous house so I gave it to my daughter. Big mistake. Recently I bought the Bissell 1867-7 Green Tea Steam Cleaner. The cleaning head is smaller than the original white 1867 but it swivels which is great for under tables, around the toilet, etc. It's also much lighter in weight. The original 1867 was a little draggy to push around but not this one. After putting it together I filled the tank with distilled water, plugged it in and had steam. Now I feel like my kitchen floor is clean, I mean really clean. No residue from store cleaners. When we move from here, this steam mop stays with me even if I have to tape it to my body. Absolutely love it.
Bissell 1867 Steam Clerner Not Worth It by andersk ,Sep 26 '07
Pros: None that I can think. Cons: Stripped the finish right off my floors.
I recently purchased the item and I thought from reading reviews, that this was exactly what I needed to make my life easier....wrong! It stripped the finish completely off my kitchen floor. After the first try, the floor looked dull, and very very streaky. My husband gave it a whirl and suggested I go really slow....he didn't do any better. The following day I tried it a third time, as well as my livingroom hardwood floors....no change. I ended up using a Wet Swiffer hoping that would make my floors look 'gleaming'...no luck. I got down on my hands and knees and scrubbed with Murphy's Oil Soap....no change.
I am returning the 'fantastic' product for a complete refund. Now I have to buy another floor product to try to get some shine back into my kitchen floors. Any suggestions?
Pros: Floors are sanitized, easy to use, no left-over chemical smells in the house! Cons: Had to "towel dry", small tank meant I had to fill before each room.
I just tried my new Steam Mop and it is the best cleaning tool I own. My floors are squeaky clean and it was incredibly easy to use. We have vinyl floors in the kitchen and bath, and wood everywhere else. I did the whole house in about an hour, which included dry time. It left more water on the floor than I would like, but the outcome was worth drying it manually. I love the way the floors look and feel under my bare feet. Additionally, I am not worried about any chemical residues left behind that my pets might ingest. Great product!
Pros: Light weight, easy to use. Cons: After 2 weeks. Haven't found any.
This mop is lightweight and easy to use. I was looking for something to replace my standard mop. And get hair spray build up off hard wood floors. Had to use a towel to remove the excess water. The Bissell Stick Steam Cleaner does what it advertises and much more.
Before replacing some old carpet in my dinning room. I test the Bissell Stick Steam Cleaner on an unknown stain. It looked like motor oil on the carpet. It looked as if the heat from the steam was melting butter. It came out so easily.
Now I am looking for a hand held model to clean tile walls in the bathroom.
SD2005 Switch slowing Internet by prowatts ,Jun 13 '08
Pros: Nice enclosure, good layout Cons: None to the best of my knowledge
I am using the 1 SD2008 network switch in a home business network for over a year and recently added an SD2005.
After two months in operation I noticed a drop in the Ethernet speed from 4Meg to 1Meg while doing speed-test. After my Internet Service Provider assured me that the outside network is fine I traced the problem to the SD2005 network switch. Manufacturer support right away issued return authorization and confirmed that the unit could slow down the network if faulty and replacement will be sent.
Good customer support while in warranty.
Buy the higher version for the limited manageability.
BEST product on the market for all types of hard floors! by garcia731 ,Nov 15 '05
Pros: Easy to use, No chemicals required, Sturdy, Cleans beautifully Cons: None.
I bought this mop at Lowe's about two years ago, after trying every type of mop and floor cleaning machine on the market for my hardwood floors. This mop is super-easy to use and best of all, it WORKS! I use it on my hardwood, marble and granite floors and it cleans all of the surfaces beautifully with no bending over.
The mop uses only water/steam as the name suggests, so you don't need any chemicals which might damage the floors. It removes stuck-on food and dirt of every kind. You just vacuum then steam mop and the floor is clean. No streaks, no residue. You wash the removable cotton pads after each use, so I recommend buying one or two extra, especially if you have a large area to clean. One pad seems to clean about 700 square feet.
Pros: Safe for everyone (no chemicals), fast, easy, threw out my mop. Cons: Don't ever put the mop pads in the dryer.
I tried this after returning that horrible Hoover bare floor cleaner. This product is awesome! With three cats, a one-year old son and a husband who stomps around in dirty work boots, this product keeps all the dirt under control. Since you are just using steam, not chemicals, it is safe for everyone. You do have to vacuum first, but you have to do that before mopping anyway. I do the kitchen floor twice a week, and it takes about five minutes to do 200 square feet--definitely an improvement over mopping. After you're done, you just throw the terry cloth mop pad in your washer.
One word of caution--NEVER EVER PUT THE MOP PADS IN THE DRYER. They will never fit the same after you do that, and trying to get them on the steam mop after a visit to the dryer is a nasty experience.
Pros: No chemicals required Cons: May cause damage to floors
Use of this machine caused either steaks or long scuffs on my vinyl flooring. I was told by customer service to "wipe it with white vinegar," which made no difference. The floors do have many coats of acrylic finish, but I don't know why the steam mop would take it off in streaks. I had to scrub the floor to get rid of the marks, which appeared to me to be scrapes. I plan to return the machine before it potentially ruins all my vinyl floors. The machine also moved about with much difficulty and "drag."
I LOVE This MOP! Do Not Believe The Bad Reviews by angelasept ,Jul 03 '08
Pros: Looks, performance, easy to use! Cons: Little heavy, handle could be a little thinner
I cannot believe that people left bad reviews about this mop! It's excellent! I had weird stains on my tile floors ( from the previous owners) and NOTHING worked on those nasty stains till I bought Bissell Mop. It really really works! Be sure to be patient with some of the stains, keep trying and they will come off! Amazing, worth every penny!
Pros: lightweight, cleans quickly and very effectively. Cons: Only two mop heads that need to be washed between each use.
I just got this product approx 1 week ago, and have had nothing but success. It's quick and easy to assemble. It's easy to operate. And does a great job in little time. I would recommend this to anyone.
Pros: Light weight, easy to assemble, awesome results. Cons: Cord gets in the way.
I have 1100 sq. ft of tile with deep grout lines to clean. Regular mopping was an all day affair. With the Bissell, I have sparkling floors in less than 2 hours. It is easy to plug in and do the kitchen every evening. Wet dog prints disappear quickly. I tried the other stick cleaners out there and they were all junk... The Bissell name/reputation made me try this one and it is quality. Easy to assemble and easy to use.
Pros: So much less hassle than a mop and bucket. It heats up very quickly too! Cons: I wish it had a carpet attachment most of all...and an even longer cord.
I think this Bissell steam mop is fantastic! I will never use a traditional mop/bucket and chemicals again...ever!
The only thing negative I would have to say is that it doesn't dry as quickly as advertised...but live on an island where it is more humid...so that may have something to do with it. I also wish it had a carpet attachment to touch up my small area rugs...I know the H20 has one.
Anyway I am happy with my purchase!
I don't know what the person who thought it was heavy is thinking? It is light as a feather...compared to a vacuum.
OMG! Great Mop - you need to buy this Bissell by hanlonjewl ,Dec 15 '08
Pros: Easy to use , no water on floor, lighweight to carry up and down stairs! Cons: I cannot think of any.
After listening to a friend tell me about her Shark steam cleaner I started to look online and found the Bissell Steam Mop had so many great reviews. The shark had many negative reviews about it breaking - So for my birthday my mom asked me what I wanted I said a Bissell Mop! I put it together in 2 minutes and tried it - I wanted to clean everything it is so easy to use and does a great job! No more water all over the floor. With 2 small children and a german shepherd my floors get messy every day. I have 2 floors of hardwood. Told a friend to get one she loves hers and said she could do a 30 minute infomertial on it and kept looking for things in her house to clean! You actually want to keep cleaning everything once you start - you won't regret getting this!
This is the best hard floor cleaner !! by cleanmadeeasy ,Nov 04 '08
Pros: Thorough deep cleaning steam, lightweight, easy to use Cons: Cord is not long enough, had to unplug to move to other areas
I purchased the Bissel Steam Mop and a pack of mop pad on sale from Kohl's on yesterday and used it today on my hardwood familyroom floor and hardwood kitchen. At first I did get the white streaks as described in some of the other reviews and was certain that I ruined my floors. Then I realized the streaks were "clumps" of dirt/debris the mop had loosened and as I continued to mop I was redistributing the clumps and smearing them. I did pre-sweep, but I stopped mopping, swept the clumps and changed the mop pad and continued mopping. Granted I did this several times and was more and more amazed by how well this mop cleaned. We moved into our home about a year ago and the home is almost five years old. This mop cut through "years" of layered dirt. Before I used my Swiffer products as well as Lysol and Clorox floor cleaners thinking I was "sanitizing and cleaning" ground in dirt. "WRONG!" The Bissell Steam Mop is the only hard floor cleaner I will ever need, and I only used distilled water. My floors are now truly clean.
Pros: I love everything about it great product Cons: No problems
I love it it cleans my floors perfectly. If you pump the water despinser instead of holding it down it will not soak the floor guys.I found that out.But it is the best mop I have ever spent my money on I have already told all my family about it.It is faster than moping with a regular mop and you have no residue.
Bissell Steam Mop Really Works by cjjensen ,Aug 31 '05
Pros: Cheap, Effective, Washable Pads, Easy to use Cons: Small Water Tank
We were looking for an alternative to harsh chemicals and didn't want to buy a bulky or expensive device. We saw the Bissell steam mop at a local store and didn't really think it would work, but thought we would give it a try since the price was pretty low ($49). When we tried it out the first time, we were very impressed. It did a better, faster job than we could ever have done with a conventional mop, and we didn't feel like we were just pushing dirty water around. Yeah, you need to keep swapping out the cloth covers, but they're washable, so it's not a big deal. There's a filter on the mop, but if you already have filtered water, it probably doesn't really do much, and probably won't need to be changed. This is one product that is worth more than the price.
Pros: The washable microfibre was easy to clean and to dry. Assembly was easy. Great marketers. Cons: Too expensive for the functionality. Too many watermarks. Does not work as advertised.
The Bissel steam mop was a disaster to use on my kitchen tiles. It took over 30 minutes for the water to dry and of course it left terrible watermarks.
I will walk you through a step by step. 1. I used distilled water as suggested by the manufacturer 2. I used the steam trigger and much to my disappointment, not too much steam came out :( 3. The microfibre became so wet, that all I ended up doing was to spread luke warm water over my floor 4. I returned the unit the very next day telling the customer service agent I was not satisfied at all. 5. I went to another big box store and purchased a swifter type (but not swifter) wet mop. Now I am happy with the results.
Overall, to expensive and not functional. If you like to spread water over your hardwood floors (and wreck them in the process) then a good fit for you.
