This movie only made 5.5 million dollars according to recent estimates. It came nowhere near the first and 2nd place movies, but I thought it was entertaining and funny at times.

The acting was good, though not worthy of an award, the plot was not new just a remake of an old movie from the 1980's called airplane in my opinion.

I can see this movie only appealing to the younger crowds as opposed to the older generations.

I would still stick to man on fire as a first pick and this movie as a 2nd or third choice.

Cons: Everything Else

This latest movie, "Soul Plane" plays upon painfully trite racial jokes, (why does it have to be a "black" box), and cannot save itself from an inevitable crash (what a pun, ha ha). Tom Arnold takes one last stab as an acceptable showbiz actor, but fails miserably. My only advice is go with your gut and socio-economic class. If you like such laugh riots as "Car Wash" and "Barber Shop" then you might like this film. On the other hand, if you prefer the class of "Cool Hand Luke" or "American Beauty" then you might be horribly disappointed.
