Pros: Funiest show ever, canot be beaten or matched, whole third season. Cons: Only con is that there is none.
Family guy is one of the best shows to ever be aired and one of the funniest. I find it soo much funnier than Simpsons and Futurama put together. The funny antics of Peter Griffin and his dysfunctional family cannot be beaten or matched. Family Guy will ...
Pros: Generally great writing, solid voice acting and humorous Cons: Almost always offensive
Controversial programming on U.S. airwaves is hardly a new thing. From the subtle subversion of Ozzie & Harriet to the pregnancy of Lucille Ball on I Love Lucy, the open discussion of racism and sexual rights on All in the Family ...
Pros: Funny, Intelligent (though crass) humor, Good animation, Interesting Commentaries Cons: Lack of Deleted Scenes
At some point, probably in the next five years, the US will get beyond the humorless dictatorship it has fallen into where civil liberties are quietly robbed from its citizens using executive orders and a fanatical attorney general whose methods are ...
One can only imagine the reaction at FOX Network when Seth McFarlane pitched the idea of a cartoon about a New England family with an oafish father, a semi-reformed "bad girl" mother, a nerdy daughter, and two sons (one borderline retarted and the other ...
Pros: Classic Family Guy in all its glory. Better voice acting. Cons: Family Guy in all its overused jokes, and sometimes cheap laughs.
I want everybody to know that I love The Family Guy. When it first aired in 1999 I thought it was hilarious and my parents thought I was crazy. Granted, with all the great comedies out there such as The Simpsons and Futurama and various others that ...
Pros: Great comedy, random and spontaneous. Cons: Either love it or hate it!
The family guy is such a peculiar show. This is almost a cult classic. It has been more liked after it was off the air than when it was on TV. Even though it may not have looked that good this show is so hilarious. Even though it may be a cartoon, ...
Pros: The Best Show is on DVD Cons: Little to no extras worth watching
Family guy appear 4 years ago, and I've been hooked ever since. For anyone, and I mean anyone, looking for a good laugh and has a sick humor, this is the show for you. The show centers on a drunken oaf for a Dad, who strangely mimics an even ...
Pros: Lot's of episodes. Cons: None that I can think of.
With a family full of clumsyness, you never know what will happen next.
Meet Stewie, a little toddler who plans to kill his mother and take over the world.
Louis, a nice, charming mother who cares for her family.
Meg, a geek at school that get's picked on by the popular kids.
Chris, a hilarious and clumsy boy who get's all his clumsyness from his father, alot.
Brian, the families talking dog.
And Peter, the families wackiest member, who always does something very funny but right.
This is such a great show. Lot's of episodes and is sure to make you crack up laughing. Really, you need all the characters to be in this show. They all have a main part; Brian, making you feel sorry for that lonely dog. Peter to make the dumbest move. Stewie to try to kill! Meg to laugh at her and feel lucky. And Louis to soften you up and feel just fine. Of course Chris never has a main part. He just always changes.
I really recommend you buy this dvd.
Pros: FUNNY! Cons: Some episodes lagging behind volume 1.
Family Guy is a hillarious show. The d.v.d contains 21 episodes full of twisted humour and one never aired before.
Family Guy follows a family who lives in Rhode Island going on with their reguler day lives. There is Peter, the dim witted, funny father, Lois, the tough mom, Chris, the silly teenage son, Meg, the teenage daughter, Brian, the talking, drinking dog and Stewie, the evil one year old who is bent on world domination.
This is probably one of the best shows out there. The twisted humour is hillarious, although it may offend some. Family Guy is deffinitly one of the best shows.
The one thing I noticed is that a few of the shows weren't as funny as the episodes on volume 1. This was a dissapointment. But altogether Family Guy is a great show.
Excellent choice for all ages by beavis612 ,Oct 06 '03
Pros: This DVD box set consists of everything that a fan needs Cons: DVD box sets are certainly overpriced
Family guy has to be one of the funniest shows I have ever witnessed. To this day, I would have to choose this DVD collectors set over anything else on the shelves... and that includes the played out "The Simpsons" episodes which mearly consist of extremely old shows (some dating back ten years) in comparison to the new up beat and hilarious antics of this family of five. This show brings us humor to the 21st century. Classic moments and hilarious happenings will be in your DVD player for years on end if you purchase this box set.
A collection of the 2nd seasons' finest will rival your funny bone. With characters ranging from Homer Simpson rip offs (but an extreme exaggeration) to talking babies (who remind me of the brain from pinky and the brain) and talking dogs with sarcastic sayings that will have you rolling on the floor, this DVD is a must for any fan... young or old.
Dabolical Babies.....Only On the Family Guy! by OrangeGurl ,Dec 27 '03
Pros: This show has complex characters, as well as story lines. Cons: None that I can think of. BUY IT!
The Family Guy is a show about a family of 6. A typical family so it seems but after watching even one episode you realize that isn't the case. This family is hilarious! If you like sarcastic wit this is the show for you. Between Peter, Louis, Brian (the families talking dog), Chris, Meg and Stewie (a baby fixed on world domination, or atleast killing his mother)you will have garaunteed laughs for hours.
This season is even complete with a "lost" episode that Fox wouldn't air. Worth buying for even that one episode, its amazing. Every episode is amazing. JUST BUY IT ALREADY!
Pros: The voices are better than Volume 1. Cons: Not as funny as Volume 3.
This is the box set that got me into Family Guy. They don't have Volume 3 (Season 4) up for review yet, but that is my new favorite, so I suggest that one as well. In general, Family Guy is somewhat in the Simpsons vein, but I find it's a lot more clever if you ask me. All the characters are funny as opposed to just one more than the others (Homer). Buy this, but if you are only going to buy one Family Guy volume, get the latest one instead.
Everyone knows that family guy is the best show of all time. This DVD set will bring you hour upon hour of laughter. I have had this set since the day that it came out, and I still watch it, right up until about 45 minutes ago. This, in my opinion, is slightly better than the first volume, though the first set has a few more episodes. This set has a good amount of extras, including storyboards of cut jokes that will have you rolling on the floor. Totally worth your money.
Pros: Hilarious, entertaining, quotable, nicely packaged Cons: There are none other than its addictive to watch!
This is the best possible DVD to buy! It provides hours and hours of entertainment...495 minutes of fun to be exact. There are 21 episodes, all of them from Season 3 of Family, and a bonus episode that was never aired. This includes episodes such as "One if by Clam, Two if by Sea," "The Thin White Line," and "To Love and Die in Dixie." This show is a classic! Each episode features highly quotable lines that keep the viewer laughing for hours! The never before aired show did not make it past the critics, so if you're wondering what the producer Seth McFarlane really wants to say, check out the episode "When You Wish Upon a Weinstein." The DVD set comes with 3 different discs and each has its own packaging and summaries of each episode on the back. I also found it nice that they included the Christmas episode.
Great Addition to DVD Collection by midgetsrcool22 ,Dec 25 '03
Pros: Extremely funny, hours of entertainment Cons: As with all DVD sets, it is pricey
If you enjoyed the show at all, or even similar shows like The Simpsons, then I guarantee that you will want to want to own this DVD. If you are a fan of comedy but not familiar with the show, I would recommend renting at a video store or borrowing a copy from a friend.
The Volume 2 collection comes with a few bonus features not included on the first collection set, including 28 deleted scenes, 2 featurettes on the show, and the original series pitch, which is an early draft of the first half of the first episode. It also includes commentary tracks on selected episodes, as well as an unaired episode.
I enjoy the show a lot, so it wasn't a hard decision to purchase the set. However, it is quite pricey, so I would suggest making sure you or whoever the set is for truly appreciates the show before making your investment.
