Having watch the first mortal kombat and love it everything from raidens dark humor to kano red eye that movie was pretty good by any standards.

Mortal Kombat Annihilation seems to have set the standard very low and they demolish what good story was there by adding about 7 new characters all at the start. Along with the laugh-able costumes, it would have been better if they used the ones from the first movie.

Then theres the action just by the numbers with a few nice moves maybe. They tried to use alot of video game moves with the actual sounds bit which actual worked somewhat but there is much of that.

The story good for about 1 minute then noise dives into bordium and predict-ability.
The special effects are throwback from the early 80's just mostly horrible, there are some nice traila or trace lines on the characters when they do special moves. Scorpions little hand creature is replaced by some chainlike garbage.

Overall this movie is just awful with not enough good points to keep it from sinking down to the bottom of the horrible hollywood cashin drivin sequel.
