SOAD do u dare ask more?

by Acarian , Jan 14 '03
Pros: Good for people with a sense of humor, loud head banging tracks.
Cons: Not recommended for the sensitive or easily offended.
System of a Down is on the way with releasing "Do not Steal this Album" for another S.O.A.D filled day. They came upon the title when they discovered much of their music was being circulated on the internet before the official released of their...

advertising's got you on the run

by anvrill , Apr 09 '03
Pros: Strongly political, threatening and moving songs with an eastern flair.
Cons: Sometimes it seems like this band can only be fuelled by cocaine.
"To steal from a brother or sister is evil. To not steal from the institutions that are the pillars of the Pig Empire is equally immoral."

So says Abbie Hoffman in the introduction to the 1971 Steal This Book. This book urges you to Survive!...

SOAD Un-sells out!

by updateghost Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Dec 28 '02
Pros: Most tracks.
Cons: A few tracks.
Ah yes, after all that robotic appraisal for my review of SOAD's self-titled five-star album, and my emotional letter to them about their sophomore debut, here is my conclusion to this all-SOAD-albums-in-a-day write thing. And I guess all I can really ...

Think Of It As "Toxicity: Part II"

by katiedidd , Sep 18 '03
Pros: is there a reason some of these songs were rejected?
Cons: there's a reason some of these songs were rejected
Back in 2000, System of a Down got together to record songs for their next release. When all was finished, they had recorded about 30 songs. As is usually the case when putting an album together, decisions were made about which songs to keep and which son ...

Steal This Album!: The Black and White Shall Transmutate to Gray

by wandering_mage , Feb 18 '06
Pros: The greatest album by System, to this day, made.
Cons: It is a widely discredited work of art.
Ah, Toxicity. What an amazing little album you were. Still praised as one of the most innovative, contributing heavy metal albums of all time, some of your singles still manage a weekly spot on Any-Station 102-whatever. You’ve raised so many ...

Steal This Album or buy it, but definitely get it!!!

by toddwilson , Mar 17 '03
Pros: New sounding SOAD. Some songs show the bands creative mellow side.
Cons: Not quite as good as Toxicity.
They're loud, they're angry at things like advertising, commercialization, globalization, and more things than I care to list. This album is the soundtrack to a world trade organization protest.

Musically they feature lots of speedy...

Hard, Bizarre and Uncompromising

by papasworld , Feb 16 '08
Pros: Eclectic, thought-provoking, hard and heavy
Cons: Not to everyones taste
Warning: Explicit content Steal This Album (2002) is the hastily-released follow up album to System of a Down's (SOAD) eponymous 'Toxicity' (2001) . Following a glut of unfinished and unofficial recordings from Toxicity that found their way onto the ...

Why were these songs never finished before?

by johnblack777 , Mar 22 '03
Pros: A good collection of songs previously unfinished and unrecorded.
Cons: Although the songs are good there is not much variety.
The newest release from S.O.A.D. is actually a bunch of songs that were previously unfinished, and for the most part written during the recording sessions for Toxicity. If you liked Toxicity as little as I did this may come as a surprise to you...

Don't steal...or buy...rather download some of this.

by constantchange , Oct 08 '05
Pros: A couple of tracks
Cons: A lot of them
In the late 1990's, System Of A Down would release their self tiled near classic debut. Three years would pass before the band would follow up with the true classic Toxcicity. However times were changing. First 9/11 happened, and there were changes ...

Steal It, Buy It, Borrow It, Listen To It... Somehow!

by daddywarbucks4 , Dec 31 '03
Pros: Fresh and creative lyrics, awesome guitar riffs. A great collection of previously unfinished/unreleased songs.
Cons: Not quite up there with Toxicity. A few weak songs. Explicit lyrics may offend some.
Since the breaking of Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down has become a top name in the political aggro-rock genre, and their success continues with Steal This Album. Steal This Album is a collection of 16 songs that were previously unfinished or ...

Another great album from System of a Down

by tribeofeli , Jan 13 '03
Pros: Great overall CD, fresh SoaD material. Many tracks.
Cons: More profanity than some may feel is appropriate. Short songs.
System of a Down has done it for a third time. I purchased their debut album before they were as well known as they are now, and I loved the music, vocals, lyrics, and overall artisticness of this band. Well over two years later I heard about their new...

System of a Down- Steal this Album... it will steal your heart.

by mouth_off , Feb 05 '03
Pros: Thought. This c.d. has hard-hitting guitar licks mixed with intrinsic lyrics.
Cons: Choice. SoaD gives you four lovely c.d. facings to choose from.
Steal this album, burn this album, but what ever you do, GET THIS ALBUM! One word of caution to listeners who like to follow the leader, this album WILL make you think. System of a Down really requires their listeners to think for themselves, and delve...
