Pros: The People are outstanding, the service 1st class. Cons: Far away from Lahaina; but that isn't necessarily a bad thing
The Outriggger at Wailea is a top notch hotel. Not the most Glamorous, but when it comes to service they are the best. Free parking is an added bonus. Set in quiet Wailea steps from the beach, this hotel has none of the pretentiousness of its next...
Pros: The Location, the warm and gracious treatment by staff and relaxed atmosphere. Cons: Nothing to complain about here!
The Outrigger Wailea Resort is more than just a beautiful location. Gracious treatment by Resort Management and Staff add to the ambiance of this wonderful place. The rooms are well appointed with the best views of the ocean available in the Wailea...
Pros: Sunset views, instant beach access, 3 pools, 2 jacuzzis, and watersport rentals Cons: The astounding Grand Wailea hotel is just next door and I can't afford it.
Maui is the second largest of the Hawaiian Islands, and the Outrigger Wailea occupies an amazing piece of real-estate on the "Valley Isle" as it is known by the natives. Maui is high on the ends and low in the middle. The people of Maui seem to be the...
Pros: A true Hawaiian resort, beautiful grounds, excellent staff, an A resort Cons: NONE!
The Hotel and Staff
This was our first trip to Hawaii and we were absolutely thrilled with our choice! This resort is now a Marriott resort (very recently) and has all that you have come to expect from Marriott resorts. The lobby and...
Pros: Spectacular Ocean View, Friendly staff, all the amenities you need Cons: Light for the bathroom is by the front door
This was my third trip to Hawaii, and my second visit to Maui. We were supposed to stay at the Grand Wailea resort in Wailea, but there was a booking problem with our travel agent. We were part of a 200 person business convention, and we didn’t know...
My wife and I just returned from a glorious 5 night stay at the Outrigger Wailea Marriott. (The hotel is now part of the Marriott group.) I give it a very high recommendation.
For those who may not be familiar with the island of Maui, the...
Just got back from our honeymoon at the Wailea Marriott and had a truly excellent time. We were upgraded to a deluxe oceanfront room which was literally the room closest to the ocean in all of Wailea. This is the greatness of the resort--even if you go ...
Pros: nice pool, good restaurants, great location Cons: pricey.
The Outrigger Resort in Wailea is beautiful. I have been to several of the other Wailea resorts; Grand Wailea, Four Seasons, and i will say that the Outrigger fits in nicely. The first thing you notice when you pull up to the hotel, is the expansive...
Pros: Exclusive Area, nice surroundings, friendly staff, more reasonably priced than the others Cons: Not as nice as the hotels down the street still a little $$
The Outrigger Wailea is the oldest resort in the area. Although it has undergone a major renovation, you can still tell that it is a bit older than the rest. Older doesn't always mean worse, however.
Epinion Review: Marriott Wailea: I stayed here from Sat. 12/11-12/15, 2004. I was traveling alone for an "R&R" vacation. I wanted a less expensive hotel, but also wanted an ocean view. I travel 100K miles per year on average for business and stay at a ...
Pros: Rooms available when every place else fully booked. Self park is still available Cons: Doesn't live up to resort expectations. Poor value for the price
My wife and I just returned from a quick "long weekend" in Maui. We wanted to go the deluxe route this trip because we've both been working hard, so we stayed at the Four Seasons in Wailea. Even though it was the "low season", the hotel was fully ...
Pros: Many: location, service, friendly staff, perks, etc. Cons: The Outrigger sets the bar so high, other resorts can't compare to it
We stayed at the Outrigger Wailea in 2002 on our second trip to Hawaii. We were overwhelmed with the location, the view, the perks, (cocktail party, unordered fruit tray appearing in our room one afternoon, etc.)the friendly service, the food, and the entire atmosphere. The grounds and pools are just gorgeous, and they are kept in perfect condition. I especially like that the guest rooms aren't in a large building, it has more of a condo feel with patios and balconies. They do a very good job of making you feel like a valuable guest. We went to a resort in Kauai after this stay, and we were spoiled from the Outrigger! The resort in Kauai was just OK, not nearly as outstanding as the Outrigger was. We hope to go back to the Outrigger again someday!

Pros: high-level of service, beautiful landscaping, blends in with surroundings (not a high rise) Cons: no beach directly in front of hotel
We just got back after a 10 night stay for our honeymoon. And by the way, we picked this resort based on the comments found here on epinions.com. After I reserved online, I called to followup after seeing a statement not guaranteeing a king size bed and non smoking. They made a note in their file (along with my honeymoon comment) and set us up with probably one of their better rooms (4400). The service was professional and prompt. As others noted, it's not nearly as resort-like as the Grand and other 'high rise' hotels. Lots of green landscaped areas. The birds where chirping every morning in the nearby trees as we ate breakfast on our patio. Very good food as well. Even though there is not a beach directly in front of the resort, it is a short walk to a beach on either side. The room was clean, neat and comfortable. And parking was free and convenient. We'll stay again....
