Pros: Ease of use, advanced features Cons: Unreliability (obviously!)
We bought this oven in mid-Oct, 2005, and immediately noticed that it wasn't cooking properly in the convection function. Two oven thermometers agreed that it was heating 75 deg low when set at 450 deg, with lower temperature settings proportionally in ...

Pros: Inverter lighter machine.
Fairly easy to operate.
Cons: Poor manufacturing quality control.

Replaced Sharp convection with a Panasonic
by mitscher-dl2 ,Feb 01 '04
Pros: Accurate and constant temperature. Ceramic turntable for easy cleaning. Cons: None
After my Sharp convection microwave gave up after 23 years, I looked for a good replacement. After many weeks of delving into many different types, I purchased the Panasonic NNC-980B. I am extremely pleased so far after 4 weeks. I have used the convection feature many times and it always gives perfect results. The new Inverter tech. really does make it a superior microwave. The Panasonic does not use a magnetron tube as all the other ones do, instead it uses a solid state inverter which gives a percentage of constant heat, rather than turning off and on to regulate the power. This is the main reason I chose Panasonic over the Sharp which was very reliable.

Lasted just past warranty date
by mtnative50 ,Jan 05 '04
Pros: Clearly marked, convenient, operated well, baked nicely, many nice features Cons: Didn't last nearly as long as I'd hoped
This microwave was my ideal - until two control panels went out just days after the warranty was up. Using it was easy, quick and convenient for our smaller family. Repairs cost over half what a new one would have and the parts took twice as long to obtain than was expected. It's up and running again and it really simplifies my cooking. In the meantime, I'm hoping prices come down or someone manufactures a more dependable machine in case I need a new one in the near future.
