Pros: More Stable and Faster than Win 98 Cons: Still not as stable as NT or W2000.
I upgraded to Win Me from Win 98 SE about 8 months ago. I really like this version. It boots alot faster and seems to load programs faster than Win 98. I have not had as many crashes as before and have been very pleased with it. I have had a few...

Pros: same window format Cons: networking configuration has changed, no noticeable advantage
Thinking about upgrading to windows ME? Any kind of upgrade is a big decision on it's part. I received windows ME automatically on a new notebook that I have purchased. Looked the same as all the windows 95/98 but there are changes that I don't like. I...

Pros: more user friendly, better than 98 Cons: still has compatibility issues and forced crashes
I could not wait for Microsoft Windows ME to come out. Since it was a year late, I just knew that the enhancements were going to be great. When I finally got it home and installed it, I must say that it was very impressive. They added a few features that...

Pros: Fairly easy to use Cons: Fairly easy to screw up
When ME was released, I was sure that the world had finally stopped revolving! ME has all sorts of new multimedia features built-in; things like support for cameras, and cool stuff. But no quantum leap is it is billed.
Here's some issues...

Pros: support of home networking Cons: It crash's 10 times more then windows 98SE
During the installation process for Windows ME (I was upgrading my laptop from 98) I was presented with a myriad of screens telling me how great Windows ME was and how much change was influenced by "customer requests" and issues from their support...

Pros: Boots a little faster Cons: Bloated, nothing much new.
Ok, I'm not much of a Windows fan, so this opinion may be a little biased...or should I say, honest.
Microsoft is at it again, promising more "efficiency" and "stability" in their "new and improved" release of Windows ME. It seems to ME that...

Pros: New Features, Networking, seems faster to load, restore stuff Cons: seems to slow down a little for no reason at times
What is it- An operating system made by Microsoft (Operating Systems basically run your computer).
I installed Windows ME about two days ago, I wanted to upgrade from my Windows 98 2nd Edition (which has become rather unstable, Explorer kept...

Pros: Not many! Cons: Slow, memory hog. Drivers / software that was ok on 98 often doesn't work any more
Windows ME is the latest home user OS from Microsoft. Well, latest until XP gets released.
It is different from the 9X family in that DOS is much more hidden, although you can get a patch to bring it back, and it is much `easier to use` (read...

Pros: Looks nicer than 98... Cons: Incredible resource hog!
I was an Windows ME betatester, and believe me, I really wanted to like this new version of Windows. Unfortunately, I found that most of the bugs and problems we worked on in the beta program remained very much in evidence in the release version.

Pros: Cute jingle when it starts up (that's it!) Cons: terribly unstable and slow
If the government needed more evidence to prove that Microsoft is a big, lazy monopoly it could use Windows ME as exhibit one. Only a monopoly could produce such a poor product and still be in business!
If you're looking for a technical...

Pros: More drivers are included for the latest hardware. Cons: Many Windows programs rely on DOS to load first, they do not work with ME.
I was a beta tester fro Microsoft's Windows Millennium Edition (ME). In practice I have found most computer users have a love/hate relationship with Windows ME. This OS works best on newer hardware and performs poorly on older computer systems. The...

Pros: Good driver and system restore features Cons: Many software compatible with Win 95/98 has severe issues with Win ME
My initial encounter with Windows ME was actually a favorable one. Installing my new hardware was so easy. I could uninstall hardware and then reinstall it without having to worry about drivers not being found and other installation errors....

Pros: Faster Boot time, less Blue Screens Cons: DOS is harder to access, some quircks since it's new
Well slowly releasing it's hold on DOS which may be the cause of many Blue Screens of Death that made the Window's OS so known. I been running the retail version for a few days and already I can see what they promise:
1. Safer registry settings,...

Pros: Windows is the current standard of computer operation, powering around 92% of the world's systems Cons: Microsoft have abused their position as undisputed monopoly through lack of advancement and innovation in Windows technonogy without amending infuriating prices
As the strength of Linux operating systems grows in terms both of wider compatabiltiy and 'recognisable' application availability, only a few large companies refusing to recognise it as a viable option for future development (namely Microsoft and its...

Pros: The layout is nice, easy to use. Cons: Innumerable bugs, freezes often, and is extremely hackable, I had a close friend try.
...And I continue to be justified in my opinion. They continue to put out terrible software, and yet through popularity make millions. I hate all of their software, and it is very insecure(no offense to their proponents). If mac had more software made...
