Hyundai Elantra Wagon....
I bought a 2000 Hyundai Elantra Wagon at the beginning of the year. The ability to haul stuff (like hot water heater in the box) is a great advantage. My previous car was a 6 cylinder 4-door Plymouth Acclaim. The Elantra...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Value, room, surprisingly good performance
Cons: Have not found any yet. Really!

Note: Mid-July re-evaluation below!

My wife and I recently set out to buy our first car together and settled on the very pleasing Elantra Wagon. The wagon factor greatly narrowed the number of vehicles we had to choose from. Some of the major...

Pros: Looks great, drives better and has a great warranty!
Cons: Smallish trunk

Elegant, sleek, stylish, affordable - these are just some of the adjectives that may be used to describe the Hyundai Elantra. Being a new Elantra owner, I can tell you that they are all true!

Being a new driver, I was looking for a car that...

I wrote a review on this car about a month after I had gotten the car. In that review, I stated that I was not impressed with the dealership, but was impressed with the car.

I have had this car for 4 months now. I'm beginning to think my...

Pros: Great Value, Stately looking family type car, 30MPG on highway, warranty is unbeatable
Cons: Could use better factory speakers, just a wee bit more head room in front would be nice

I recently purchased a 2000 Hyundai Elantra which makes me a double Hyundai owner (check out my review on the 2000 Hyundai Tiburon). I gotta tell you, so far I really like this vehicle!

My Elantra was purchased slightly used, making it even...

Pros: Quick engine that also powers the Tiburon, sleek design and sexy lines, superior handling
Cons: Radio controls are a little awkward and small gas tank, no CD player

The Hyundai Elantra is a testament to Hyundai's dogged determination to prove to the American consumer market that the automaker has left behind its shady past and is moving forward with a redesigned company that produces top quality automobiles.

I bought this vehicle because the salesman assured me of the great quality of the product and how Hyundai takes pride in customer service and maintaining a quality product. After all Hyundai is supposed to have America's best warranty.
I wish I...

I love my Elantra Wagon!

by sashab
Apr 10 '01

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Wagon: hauling capacity
Cons: Canadian version: VE - no 5-speed
The Bottom Line: Buy the remaining 2000's if you still find them. The best you can do in 2001's is the hatchback, coming in the fall. No wagon.

I got a 2000 Elantra VE wagon on a 4-year lease. I am now about a year and a half into it. When I was shopping for a car, I did not have much choice because of the apparent obsession of the North American population with SUV's. Some people mention...

2000 Hyundai Elantra Stick Shift

by andyiec
Oct 04 '00 - Updated Nov 29 '04

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Best warranty, horsepower, front roominess and wheels in class, fun Shifting, tight handling, quick!
Cons: Somewhat Thin Paint (Get Black for Easy Touch-ups)
The Bottom Line: Buy a Elantra and initially save approximately at least $4000 over a Honda. Ensure your warranty isn't invalidated by lack of maintenance. For maximum value, keep it a long time.

I bought a 2000 Hyundai Elantra Stick Shift for my daughter after first shopping at Honda, Nissan and Toyota dealerships. They were all in the $15-16,000 range as offered at local dealerships. The stick shift 2000 Hyundai was $11,115 out the door ...

Cons: Power door locks only operate from the driver's side.

Pros: Good mileage, many extras included in base price, peppy, terrific warranty
Cons: Louder engine/wind noise, less head room, slightly shorter cargo space

2000 Hyundai Elantra Wagon - if you can find it, buy it.

Having this car just under two months, I haven't had enough time to find all the problems that might exist, but if my experience so far is any indication, I own a terrific...
