F250 Luxury Truck, with all the Toys...

by graphics_guy
Jun 01 '06 - Updated Mar 14 '09

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: A *real* truck (powerful hauler), with lots of room for add-on toys.
Cons: Drives like a truck, uses lots of gas, hard to park, not "luxurious".
The Bottom Line: Good choice for the american-truck die-hard, that wants a pimped-out ride with all the extras. Bad choice for someone wanting a "luxury" truck.

I've had my truck for about 1.5 years now.  The previous owner turned it into a "pimped out" luxury truck, with every toy known to man, and I thought I'd let people know how that worked out... My truck is a 2000 F250 4-door 4x4 ...

King of the Road

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Well built, sits high, roomy and comfortable
Cons: V10 Not great on gas mileage
The Bottom Line: A truck which stands up to abuse and is trouble free. I recommend this truck for anyone who wants a big-rig with a comfortable ride. This truck definitely stands out.

The new F250 SD 4x4 Crew Cab could be called a "Go Anywhere" vehicle; but do to its size, there are a few places I can think of that you wouldn't want to take it. This is definitely not the vehicle you would want to take "off-roading" when you don't know...

Pros: Power Looks Durability
Cons: Gas mileage, Price

V-10 power. Oh its so cool. But the gas mileage. You know this truck is as nice as they come.

I have 90,000 miles on my f-150 and its never been to the shop. I expect the same from the 250. My buddy has replaced his Dodge tranny twice since I...

Pros: great view, great ride
Cons: not sure yet of where the front corners are

My wife and I bought a 2000 F250 crewcab a little over a week ago. Everything we wanted was not on the vehicle, but it was a good compromise. Our intended uses for this truck include hauling our cattle to market, farm chores, and occasionally hauling the...

Pros: Comfortable, beautiful, quality workmanship
Cons: NONE!

Horses plus dogs equals Big Truck! When our F250 Power Stroke regular cab became too small for two people and three dogs it was time to upgrade. Our F250 had been an awesome truck with absolutely no problems so when the time came, it had to be another...

Pros: Very Roomy, Comfortable Ride, Powerful (4 Wheel Drive), Reliability
Cons: Hard Time Climbing Hills In 2 Wheel Drive (WINTER)
The Bottom Line: Get this truck! You won't be disappointed.

When my boyfriend first suggested getting a Ford (DIESEL) I was not pleased. My family has always had a Chevy/GMC thing over Fords. I have heard stories about how horrible the gas mileage is that they get, how the paint fades, etc.

We drove...

Pros: roomy, anywhere vehicle
Cons: gas mileage, size makes it difficult to find parking in some places

Our family bought this vehicle for the family. We had a ranger that was getting a little to crammed. The overall satisfaction with the Ford F250 super duty crew cab is good. The only thing is the size makes it hard to find parking and the amount of gas...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great pulling ability great ergonomic controls very roomy
Cons: gas eater in town stiff ride without weight
The Bottom Line: Great truck new or used so I have heard worth the money for extra durability over a half ton truck

we have now had our v10 F250 for 2 years we bought one of the first 2000's back in October 1999. The truck has an automatic and the v10 engine having 310bhp and around 450ft/lb torque. Its a pulling monster. We have the truck set up with 3.73 rear gear ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: "Get respect" size, sure footed in snow, lots of room inside
Cons: Fuel economy, radiator pretty exposed with wide grill prone to debris
The Bottom Line: Always buy a little more truck than you think you need at time of purchase "better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it"

This truck is a very good purchase for people who want a truck capable of handling just about any task thrown at it.Lots of power in the 5.4 litre triton. Good passing times on the highway.Although you and the gas station attendant will feel like kindred ...

Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab - FX4 Edition
by glkris

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Endless power, Smooth Ride, All the Comforts of Home.
Cons: Extreme turning radius
This truck has been worth every penny spent. Ford has really done something to the suspension, this is not you grandpa's farm truck. It rides like a dream - you can actually drink a cup of coffee without a lid on it while going down the road. The super crew cab has room for days, add my 8 ft bed there is nothing I can't haul. The new engine provides enough torque to pull a battleship. Outstanding.

Not a work truck - Deteriorates over time

Pros: Very comfortable interior - lots of space and nicely finished
Cons: Gas mileage and engine life
I was very happy with this truck when I first bought it. But once I put it to work on my ranch problems began to arise. One of the bolts holding the right front leaf springs broke within months. Ford refused to warranty it and it cost almost $700 to fix since the bracket bent when the bolt came out. Next one of the shocks blew and then the aluminum head threw a spark plug causing the entire head to be replaced = $3500+ The brake shoes wore out quickly as well. And the V-10 engine seems to require frequent tune ups. All the maintenance and repairs for this truck has been double any other I have ever owned. It's great for all the suburbanites who haul groceries, but it doesn't make it on the ranch.

Don't buy one of these trucks!

Pros: Lots of room inside and out. Nice interior. Comfortable ride.
Cons: Poorly engineered engine and components. Terrible gas mileage. Parking is a pain.
Against my friend's and family's advice, I bought my first Ford truck when I purchased my F250 in Dec 2000. i believed the hype. Ford has changed and they mean it when they say in their ads that they have improved their product. I loved the truck. Until this December anyway. I found out what may people have been finding out for several years now. I had the same thing happen to me that hundreds of Ford owners all across the country have had happen; a spark plug blew out of the aluminum cylinder head. There were only 65k miles on the engine. It cost 3000.00 to have Ford replace a defective cylinder head and they will not cover it under warranty. I've sent letters and emails to the company. They could care less. This company does NOT stand behind their product and Quality is definitely NOT job one at Ford.

See www.Forddefects.com for more on the spark plug problem.
