Pros: Comfortable for long trips, overall value. Cons: Reliablity of automatic transmission. The Bottom Line: All round value, check for proper service. Good reason it is popular, it a great truck!
This truck did not know what it was in for when I turned the key on 12 hours ago, I don't think anyone did... I sure did not expect to be staring at brake lights for the past twelve hours either but here we are...75 miles down the road with 3/4th's of a ...

OK, so my wife (now an ex), decides that we need to trade our 1992 Toyota Camry XLE V6 in. SO off we go.. I fell in love with a Tahoe LT 4x2, but no, that wouldn't work. So on our way to see what else we might like, we saw a new body style F-150 pass ...

Pros: Fuel mileage, comfort, looks Cons: 5th gear acceleration The Bottom Line: Trouble-free rig with outstanding comfort. It fits like your favorite jeans.
Update! 80,000 miles have rolled up on the odometer, and I'm as happy as ever with this great truck. No breakdowns, squeaks or rattles, and routine maintenance has been limited to oil and filters. Fuel mileage is still superb; I averaged 23 m.p.g. on...

Pros: good comfort, torque, and HP Cons: too big for a small person, prone to breakage, its warranty seems to not be backed well by ford
My apologies first off for the rambling course this post is about to take,.. these are the things I've encountered in the last 10mos as they occur to me.
If you are under ~5'8" this truck is way too big for you. I am 5'4" and when...

Pros: Ford tough, rides like a car, endures accidents, storms, rough terrain. Cons: It has truck gas mileage (but good for a truck). The Bottom Line: A truck for everyone. Rides like a car, hauls like a ford, and can withstand the worst of beatings... Great for roadtrips too.
My family purchased our 1997 Ford F150 with much anticipation of getting a new truck. Owning a construction company, we were eager to see if the truck met our expectations... And it did!
The trucks main use is hauling lumber, pvc pipes,...

I, like some other Epinion writers, owned a Dodge Dakota before picking up a used 1997 Ford F-150. So far I have been satisfied with the trucks performance.

Pros: Stylish Looks, Handles like a car. Cons: Pricey, Not for true ranch work.
We bought the 1997 Ford F150 V-8 Extended Cab with Tow package for the purpose of pulling a two horse trailer, hauling hay, and driving around our dirt & gravel property. This should not be too much to ask of a vehicle supposedly designed for this...

Pros: Good mileage, ample passenger cargo and passenger space, smooth ride for a truck. Cons: Ford is a difficult company to deal with when it comes to recalls. See Opinion. The Bottom Line: I cannot recommend another Ford product of any kind until Ford takes responsibility for replacement of parts for all Safety Recalls. Saving lives is more important that profits.
We took our 1997 Ford super cab truck in to be serviced as soon as we received the fuel line recall notice. The servicing Ford dealer inspected the fuel line and stated that the fuel line had passed inspection and did not need replacing. Evidently it is...
