Pros: Extremely good performance, handling and design.
Cons: A little hard on the pocket book
Most mechanics are not familiar with them. The Bottom Line: Good outweighs the bad, A joy to behold and to drive. I wish I had two!! my auto and a stick.
Isn't it strange how taller people seem to gravitate to sports cars and diminutive people to the lar ...

Pros: Performance, looks, and the uniqueness of a rotary engine. Cons: Reliability suffers if not maintained well and few shops can service it. The Bottom Line: A knowledgeable and diligent owner will be rewarded many times over. In the wrong hands, it will be a lemon and a liability.
The 1993-95 Mazda RX-7 is a fantastic car. Known also as the 3rd Generation RX-7 or the 'FD', this twin-turbocharged sports coupe has gained an enthusiastic following. Few cars combine such beautiful styling and high performance at this price. ...

Pros: a pure sports car, fast, beautiful, great handling/braking, good seats, low initial cost Cons: high maintainence, unsafe for new drivers, high insurance, ongoing repairs and parts are very expensive The Bottom Line: A great overall sports car, not for the faint of heart or lacking in either dedication or experience, very expensive but worth it to this enthuisiast.
I bought my 1994 RX-7 Touring in October of 2001 with about 54,000 miles on it, in pretty good shape with some minor body damage to the passenger fender. Initially the car was $14,500, well below blue book at the time, and that was my motivation for ...

Pros: Race performance from a street vehicle. Cons: High cost of maintenance and repairs.
You have to love the design of the 3rd generation Rx7, there is no comparison. Performance! Unbeatable in it's price class and well above.

Pros: Exceptional acceleration, braking and handling. Hi-tech engineering for weight reduction. Cons: Requires above average maintenance. Repairs and parts expensive. Some plastic interior parts look cheap. The Bottom Line: Too fast for the average driver. Highly rated for performance or enthusiast sports car driver.
I have purchased three RX-7s (new) since 1985. Bought the 3rd generation, as the new body style is called, used with 50K miles. I was aware of some of the potential problems with the turbocharged motor, so I was prepared for spending some money to bring...

Pros: Exterior Styling, Interior Styling, Handling, Braking performance, Driving Fun Cons: Engine life, expensive repairs, automatics are dangerous The Bottom Line: If you don't mind needy cars and love high performance than a RX-7 should be one of your choices.
RX-7's are cool little cars that hold their esteem amongst lovers of the marquee. They are kind of like Ferrari's in the respect that you get a great looking car which draws attention and is a very high performer, but you also get a car that has lots of...

Pros: fast, nimble, and striking good looks Cons: Until recently there weren't any talks about importing a newer one, but hopefully we'll be seing those new models soon. but no matter, the 94s and 95s are timeless
When it comes to sports cars in the price range, nothing seems to compare. I always find my self subconsciously comparing every fast little car I see to my beloved Mazda masterpiece. I find that much of the RX7's draw is in its style, speed, power, and...

Pros: fast, stylish and uncompromising! Cons: high level of regular maintenance reqd.
In my quest for the ultimate in affordable sports cars, I found myself a few years back buying a 1994 Mazda RX-7. Today, for the money, I do not think you will find a more uncompromising sports car. One in which everything is designed for performance...
