Pros: Easy to use Convertible, Slick Shifting Tranny, Fun Factor, Great Handling Cons: Size ( yeah right ) The Bottom Line: A true racing bred two seater for the "Walter Mittys" of the world. Sportscar performance without the maintenance headaches. A great second car!
First a little Mazda Miata MX-5 history lesson. When the Miata was introduced in 1990, it was the first new true two seater sportscar in quite some time. The Miata created its own class and was all by itself until 1997 and the BMW...

Pros: Nice styling. At the time, Progressive Mazda thinking. Cons: Plagued with TOO MANY PROBLEMS! The Bottom Line: I would not recommend spending your money on this car. It had problems when new, think about now when it's over 10 years old!
This was the first car that I personally purchased and owned. In 1993 it really was one curvy car that probably had the best styling in the $20,000 price range and the Sport Coupe class. I enjoyed my car for the time I had it, but it truly was plagued ...

Pros: Fun, easy to drive, timeless looks and legendary reliability Cons: Premium price, parts can be a bit expensive, plastic rear window The Bottom Line: You only live once. If you can afford it and have no need for practicality, don't hesitate to buy a Miata.
I first saw the Mazda Miata in a magazine in 1988 when it had not yet been released. I vowed that I would someday own one. Seeing it in the flesh and the subsequent press reviews only made me want it more. In 1999, I finally bought a used 1993 Limited ...

Pros: Quick, sporty, best ride in sports car class, easy to maintain Cons: Its appeal even attracts the criminal element
I had an internal struggle with myself five years ago. At the inexperienced age of 22, I needed to decide whether to hang on to my youth for as long as possible or step up to a new level of maturity.
A little over five years ago, I was...

Pros: Smooth operator, pretty quick, reliable Cons: Can opener/crow bar required to use backseat
The MX-6 was my second Mazda purchase. I bought it in 1995 at the age of 18. I was in a big hurry because I fell in love with the car as soon as I saw it. In my book, it didn't compare with anything else available at the time as far as roominess and...

Pros: Looks Unique, Very Reliable, Easy To Drive Cons: Not made anymore (which makes it even more unique!), No Air Bags The Bottom Line: I strongly recommend the Mazda MX-3. It's a shame that Mazda is not producing it anymore as it would undoubtedly bring driving satisfaction to many more people.
I bought my 1993 MX-3 brand new in 1993 (go figure!) At the time, I really didn't know too much about cars. I bought it for three reasons: 1) I thought it looked cool. 2) It was inexpensive. 3) When I sat in the drivers seat, it just felt right.

Pros: Dead Reliable, Great Steering, Top-down fun, Timeless Looks Cons: Small, less than practical, not as much fun in the winter The Bottom Line: Absolutely Recommended!
I have been fortunate enough to come into ownership of what I believe is the best selling sports car of all time. For a couple of years I researched older Miatas and lusted for a dark colored model with tan top and interior. I knew owners loved their...

Pros: sporty, quick, easy on gas Cons: poor interior lighting, teeny tiny trunk
Let me start by saying that I live in Florida - a convertible owner's dream... you can drive with the top down most of the year here since our winters tend to be so mild.
My first convertible was a '94 Chrysler LeBaron purchased used in '95. I...

-1993 Mazda MX6-
Yes, each car has its pros and cons, but my MX6 has an identity issue, I think. I bought my first car eight months ago with a mileage of 85,000 on the clock. The car is fully optioned... About the only thing the first owner did...

Pros: Reliably, handles great. Cons: Could be a shorter shift. The Bottom Line: This has proven to be a very reliable, fuel efficient, and fun car.
I must say that I love this car. The circumstances and reasons that I bought it were flawed, but I don't think a car dealer could have screwed me into a better car. When I graduated High School and joined the Navy in '92, I bought a 1990 Mazda B2200 ...

Pros: Good Performance, Nice Looks, Women Love It! Cons: Parts and Repairs are costly! The Bottom Line: This is one car you have to drive!
The 1993 Mazda MX-6 was the first car I've owned. I bought it when I was 18, and I've currently owned it for about a year now.
I bought the car for around $5,500 with 112,000 miles on it. The car was fully loaded, with leather seating,...

Pros: sporty, excellent handling, terrible blind spots Cons: underpowered with 4 cylinder engine, cramped interior
I've wanted an MX-5 Miata since they appeared on the scene in the late 1980s. Unfortunately, I'm now a poor college student on a tight budget, so when it came to buying a car recently, I settled for the Miata's little brother, the Mazda MX-3. The car was...

Pros: drives great, Cons: none
I bought this car used two years ago and it is still running great. I had a Mazda Protege that I had bought new in 1991 that I absolutely loved so I knew I wanted to get another Mazda. And I was not disappointed.
I love driving my little red sports...

Pros: Fast, reliable and cheap Cons: You may be considered a girlie-man
I inherited this car from the wife – I don’t think too many males have bought either the MX-6 or a Celica. In spite of the ‘chick car’ reputation, I have been pretty happy with it ever since I began driving it as my main commuter vehicle.
The...

Pros: Handles great, reliable and sturdy, peppy engine, fun. Cons: Small trunk. Mazda dealer repairs/maintenance are expensive. The Bottom Line: The best 2-seater convertible out there for the price. Great fun to drive and extremely rugged. A true rag-top in the style of the MG but much more reliable!
When Mazda introduced the Miata I was first in line to test drive it and knew instantly that I had to have one. I had previously owned an MG and a Porsche 914. While both were incredibly fun to drive they were also maddening--frequent break-downs and I...
