Pros: Super large loads, excellent "whitest whites" cycle, easy to use Cons: Lid should be unlocked for wash cycle; should be able to add additional wash time.
I bought this machine from Lowes about 2 months ago, and I could not be happier. (See update at the end.)After considerable discussion with sales people and reading reviews, I decided on this model over the 6400 which does have an ...
Pros: It cleans really well and can hold large items. Cons: Hot water wash is not available for all cycles. Possibility of expensive repairs.
I have owned my washer for 11 weeks. I bought it because it holds a large load and Consumer Reports reviewed it favorably. I love how well this machine cleans. I often squirt pretreater on stains and toss them in WITHOUT RUBBING and nearly every ...
Pros: Large machine, easy to use. Service was good in getting a replacement Cons: First machine self destructed in the first week. Initial product quality was awful.
I bought this machine to replace a 6 year old Kenmore Elite Calypso whose extended warranty ran out but its problems did not. This machine was delivered on a Monday and we put it right to work. With a family of 5 including 3 children, 6 and younger, ...
Pros: very quiet. Cons: doesn't clean well, doesn't handle large capacity well, wrinkles clothes.
I bought this product thinking I was going to be really upgrading my previous mid priced heavy duty washer. Boy was I wrong. Within a the first week I experienced a flood of water all over the floor of my laundry room. Apparently although it is large ...
Pros: Large capacity. You control the water level. Uses regular detergent. Cons: Heavy loads use lots of water. (But we don't care.)
My wife and I decided on a top loader over a front loader. We wanted to avoid the mold issue and the high price of the front loaders. The machine is great! It handles large loads and allows you to set the water level. (It won't be long before Big ...
Pros: large volume and lots of cylces options to choose from. Cons: ONE time I overloaded the tub and the clothes got tangled around the agitator.
Quiet machine and easy enough for a husband to use! We got a good price at Conn's. I didn't realize how many loads of laundry I was doing with my small, moldy front loader until we bought this great machine. I have a family of four humans and 2 ...
Pros: easy to use, does a good job cleaning clothes when it works correctly Cons: the computer system is faulty and it is hard to get a load to complete
For about the first year this was a wonderful washing machine. It is easy to use. It gets the clothes clean. Spin dry works well, the clothes are not too damp to put into the dryer. There are more options than I need so I don't use everything it ...
Pros: VERY Quiet! Auto water level sensor. Stainless steel drum. Cons: Clothes come out wrinkled beyond belief-even knotted. Can't adjust spin cycle speeds.
I have owned this washer for just over a year and waited to write a review to give myself time to really see how it was going to perform. My previous washer was a Whirlpool and it lasted for over 15 years so I was sold on the brand and felt confident I ...
Pros: end of cycle buzzer Cons: Twists bedding into ropes that can not get cleaned. Read main review
I have had this washing machine for over 2 years now.It does NOT clean sheets, blankets, or bedspreads. The washing machine twists all those items horribly. It twists them so tight you could use it as a rope, and they do NOT get cleaned! It also ...
Pros: Large capacity, VERY quiet, clothes come out clean and "dry". Stylish machine design Cons: Have to use pause button to open lid.
I purchased this a week ago and so far I'm very happy with it. It has a huge capacity (4.5 cubic feet). It has a traditional center agitator. There are similar Cabrio models without an agitator, but I bought this one since the ...
Pros: Cleans huge loads, well and efficiently Cons: Clothes spun into knots, replacement parts very very difficult to get, follow up service is atrocious
I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio to replace an ancient relic that had to be retired. The first machine did not work at all. It took Whirlpool almost a week to get a service guy out who did not know how to repair it. Another week passed ...
Whirlpool WTW6200S Top Load Washer by kkosbau ,Jun 04 '08
Pros: It has a lot of features and settings such as automatic water level sensing. Cons: Will frequently ruin clothing with straps or pull strings.
The agitator is poorly designed. The fins at the bottom of the agitator are not solidly attached to the agitator unit but instead, are flexible and allowed to flap back and forth as the agitator cycles back and forth.
The problem with this design is that there is a gap between the fins and the the bottom of the agitator unit and the fins catch certain items of clothing, especially anything with a shoulder strap or pull string. The clothing becomes entangled in the gap and then and tightly wraps itself around the vertical auger shaft. The trapped items of clothing also drag other items of clothing along with them, entangling them around the auger as well. This creates a tightly wound knot ball around the auger which is difficult and time consuming to untangle.
The situation I have described is a common occurrence and has ruined several items of clothing.
Pros: Looks good on the outside. Cons: error codes, leaks, junk!
Error codes, control panel replaced, sensors replaced, leaking water on floor. Bought it in 2006 and luckily purchased extended warranty plan because the repair man is out here all the time. Steer clear of this machine!
Pros: ?Energy efficient? Cons: too slow, much wrinkling, breaks too often.
I have had this machine for over a year. Very disappointed. It has broken twice. The clothes, especially jeans, are frequently wrinkled. I don't think it cleans very well either. I was initially excited that I could wash large loads but the machine takes twice as long as my old washer.
