My husband has had T-Mobile cell phone service for at least 6 years. He loved it. I think he only loved it because it was all he ever knew. One of the reasons he loved it was because his phone had a stereo in it and he could wear headphones all day ...

T-Mobile's road to destruction

Pros: Nothing. Cons: T-mobile's service is decades behind Verizon/Cingular.
I was initially attracted to T-mobile because of the vast array of phones that appealed to the consumer. After initiation of the service, I knew I made the worst economical decision in my life. The average bars displayed at any given time would be around 1-3. Strangely, when I was making or receiving a call, it would drop down to 1-2 bars. While the phone itself was a quality product, the service isn't even on par with low quality communications such as VOIP and AOL's instant messenging "Talk" feature. The average quality of transmission for T-mobile would be the equivalent to a 16kbps bitrate mp3. The average rate of a dropped call would be around .75 drops/call. Many times, my phone wouldn't even have an active connection...what to do when an emergency comes up?

Great Deals, Poor Service

Pros: Great cool & useful plans and phones. Cons: Horrible service, dropped calls, and lost calls.
I bought the T-Mobile Sidekick ii because it was the best thing on the market in fall of 2005. Great for texting and web browsing. However, the service or lack there of becomes very annoying. My plan costs $20 a month, unlimited everything: text, calls, internet. That's the great part about T-mobile, but having a conversation is the problematic section.
The service is the real downside to T-mobile. I lose phone calls, don't receive text messages, lose service, and have dropped calls frequently. It could be the area, but I go from Philadelphia to new york city all the time and the same things happen. If I walk into buildings with wi-fi I still cannot find internet or phone service in some instances. If you want a really cool phone, T-mobile is the place to get them, however if you want a reliable service, this is not the service plan for you.

Great Service !

Pros: Free Roaming, Excellent Customer Service, Always improving service year to year. Cons: $35 Activation Fee.
I decided to go with T-Mobile back in October 2003 primarily because of the price and the 1 year contract. At that time I had read many mixed reviews, so my decision was that of desperation. To my surprise, T-Mobile exceeded my expectations in just about every aspect except phone choices.
Since then, I have added a family plan and referred a few happy friends.
To simply put it, value, service, and absolutely no hidden charges.
My Current Plan: 1000 min, Unlimited nights, weekends, T-Mobile to T-Mobile, T-Zones, 300 TEXT message. (Last two items on 1 handset only) Approximately $89/mo with tax.
