Samuel Smith’s brewery was founded in 1758 and is the oldest brewery in Yorkshire. As England’s largest county, many Yorkshiremen see it as a nation in its own right, staying true to many of its old traditions and customs.
Pros: sweet-tasting but still rather mild; super smooth; very light body Cons: maybe a little too mild
If there’s any type of beer that is most drinker-friendly. I’d have to nominate the brown ale for that title. Beers of this type tend to be sweet and flavorful and yet mild. That’s certainly true of Samuel Smith’s Nut Brown Ale, a ...

A tribute to the importance of water in the brewing process. A beer with such a well balanced feel depends on a soft, "natural" tasting water. After 250 years, Samuel Smith's breweries know what to do with it.
Samuel Smith's Nutty Brown Ale can be compared to heavier beers such as Murphy's or Newcastle...although, Newcastle may be a bit lighter than Samuel Smith. The ale has a great nutty flavor to it and is quite thick in flavor...
Pros: Great Taste, beautiful color, nice smell Cons: Price
Closest to perfection in a bottle I've ever had. Few beers even come close to this one, at least as far buying beer goes. If money were not an issue, I would drink this stuff exclusively. The flavor is perfect, not too heavy or bitter, just the right...
Pros: It's real good Cons: It's often hard to find, esp. at eateries
No you may not....leave now! Sammy Smith is a quality beer. Clean, crisp and full of delicious flavor. It is not Budweiser. It comes in fancy bottles and costs a good deal more than Coors, and some might say that it is not worth the price tag....
Wonderful fall/winter ale by nashvillephan ,Sep 30 '03
Pros: Nice nutty flavor makes you yearn for fall Cons: Flavor is nice, but not all that deep or complex
This ale pours with a reddish brown color. It forms a nice head and has a nice roasted, nutty nose that comes through in the flavor as well. Nice and meaty in the mouth. The finish has a slightly stronger nutty flavor. There's a very slight (nice) sweetness in the finish as well. A very smooth beer, not at all bitter. Very drinkable. 5.0% alcohol by volume.
