Pros: Inexpensive and durable Cons: Not very comfortable at first
If you're looking for a fairly inexpensive stationary bike that is of decent quality, the ProForm 920 S EKG is a good pick. I've owned mine for about 2 months and so far, I've had virtually no problems with it except that one of the pedal straps...
Pros: Excellent value for price.
Highly adjustable
Very quiet operation
Heavy construction Cons: Some cheap materials
Break-in required for seat
Having spent the past couple years as an on-again/off-again user of industrial LifeCycles at gyms, I was a little dubious when my wife suggested purchasing a budget-level exercise bike for our apartment. We looked at many bikes in the $200-$300...
Pros: Smooth and quiet magnetic resistance, somewhat adjustable fit, different training programs, very stable. Cons: Wide seat, seat doesnt go far back enough for me.
I race bicycles and own a trainer for my bicycle that I prefer to use for hard training sessions. The magnetic resistance on the Pro Form feels very close to the quality of my trainer…very smooth, unlike the brake type resistors that many of the exercise...
I've had two of these in the past year. The first one lasted about 6 months. The second one started making loud grinding noises after about a week. We ride an average of twenty miles a day and this bikes can't take it. After awhile, it starts to make...
Pros: Large seat and control panel Cons: Broke down less than 1 week of workouts.
Seems to be a very stable design. Metal body is heavy enough to support larger people and very sturdy. This bike does, however, sit a bit tall compared to other upright bikes. So if you aren't on the tall side it might be uncomfortable. However....I had...
Having already gone through 2 of these, I would not recommend purchasing them unless there are absolutely no other options in your area and you just have to have a bike. The first one, the tension band that powers the magnet came off, leaving you with...
Pros: Low price. Cons: Defective electronics after one month rendered the product without value.
This review is provided for the information of those considering the purchase of a ProForm S EKG Stationary Bike PFEX1791. While the price of this equipment is low, the quality is also low, and purchase of the item is not recommended. The item was...
Pros: Used so little I cannot comment. Cons: Non-standard pedal axle size.
If, like me, you would like to change the supplied pedals for something like a Shimano SPD or Time/Look cleat system, then DO NOT buy this bike. It has non-standard size pedal axles. I found this surprising and very disappointing - I got no help at all from ProForm to find a solution.
Eventually exchanged it for a Reebok RT 445 which does have standard pedal axles.
Found mine on the street!!! by agadinmar ,Feb 01 '08
Pros: Brand new street finds are rare. Was actually looking into a bike soon........ Cons: So far the worst part is the seat, no ac power option..
Somebody put it out on the street a block away with a sign that said NEW and FREE on it.... it seemed brand new and works perfectly..... just added batteries, which have been sitting in a drawer for 2 years, might try to hook up an ac wall wart, minor retrofit....bad seat, though.. fixed that too...
Computer interface very simple... the four programs seem a good spread of effort.. and the heart-rate, calorie, 'speed' and 'distance' metering is helpful...
WE will use it and hang clothes on it... dual purpose!
