Worse than a webcam
by striker1211 ,Dec 05 '06
Pros: Cheap. Small. Easy to hook up via it's female mini-USB connector. Cons: Bad picture quality. Dark viewfinder.
I bought this a300 at wal-mart a few hours ago. Beware, the a300 pictured on wal-marts website is not the one you get. It shows a optical viewfinder but in fact it does not have one. They both say a300 on them but i guess this is an a300v2 or something. On the lowest setting the pictures look like a camera phone on it's lowest settings. On it's highest setting it looks like a high end desktop webcam with it's contrast all the way up. If you are not in perfect sunlight the viewfinder will be dark. In a room lit by a 75 watt bulb i could barely make out my posters in the digital viewfinder. I compared the pictures taken by this camera with that of a 1.3 megapixel olympus from 1999 and the olympus blew it out of the water. Even the LCD was brighter on the olympus.

Good

Pros: Ok picture quality, small. Cons: Picture quality on LCD screen
I like using this product. It is small and easy to carry. Some bad things about it are on the screen when your taking the picture, it doesn't show up good. The pictures that come out are ok, not the best but not the worst. I've had worse digital cameras. I have a family member that has the canon A300 and I say mine is better then that one.

Not very good
by pnkfins ,Jun 13 '07
Pros: small, cheap, convenient. Cons: "ate" batteries, poor pictures, cheaply made, small LCD screen
This was my first camera and at first I thought it was great. But I started to notice the battery life was very limited. Another thing is that the flash made faces white. The screen is very small and the picture quality is horrible. I do not recommend this product.

Don't waste your money

Pros: Cheap price, that's all. Cons: Terrible picture quality in all but well-lit outdoor scenes. LCD screen too small. Shutter lag unacceptable.
I bought this camera for my 12-year old son, I thought I'd be a hero for getting him his very own digital camera. Even he complains of the extremely poor picture quality, poor battery life and overall cheap quality of the camera. Does terrible in low-light, either the pic is too dark, or the flash washes everything out. Even slight camera movement results in blurry photos. Will do okay if all you ever shoot is sunny outdoor scenes and nothing else. The shutter-lag is terrible - camera records a second or so after pressing the shutter. Pay a few extra bucks for a Kodak or Nikon.
