The MXV4 Plus was original equipment on my 99 Accord V6. I have had extensive experience with Michelin tires throughout my driving history. I'm 41, and have owned 7 cars to date. I've used Goodyear, B.F. Goodrich, Uniroyal, Pirelli, and Michelin.

Pros: Quite, smooth, even wear Cons: Wear out relatively quickly. PRICE! Some squeal around hard turns.
These were standard on my 2003 Passat Wagon. They are very quite and have worn perfectly even. I have 31,000 miles on them as of today and only rotated them once at 15,000 miles. They now have 4/32 of tread left and are a hair scary in wet pavement. ...
I was actually glad to see a nail sticking through the sidewall of one of these factory installed tires because it gave me the excuse I needed to buy four completely different tires. I didn't even feel bad about trashing the other three; they should ...
Pros: Good tread life, quiet, fine handling, Michelin quality Cons: None
I buy exclusively Michelin tires. I've got them on our SUV and our Infiniti has these Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus XSE tires. They have a solid reputation, good tread life and have served friends and our family very well.
Pros: May be Michelin Name Cons: Very poor wet traction, cornering, braking ability, very high noise
I have seen very widely varying reviews on this tires. It looks like it is suitable to certain cars. These tires came with my car 2000 Honda Accord LX(P195/65R15 89H). I am a moderate driver. Never accelerate too much, never try hard conerning. These are...
Pros: Smooth ride and energy efficient Cons: A bursting tire could mean death. Saving on gas or saving your life: your choice.
On September 2007 I bought a new Toyota Camry Hybrid equipped with the Michelin MXV4 P215/60R16. On October 24 2007 after driving for a mere 1200 km or 750 miles the first tire blew out. The dealer allegedly sent the tire to a Michelin retailer for ...
Pros: Answer my latest email within 24 hours (after ignoring two other emails). Cons: Bubbles, cracking and tread separation. Poor customer service from Michelin.
A few years ago I purchased a Lexus that came with the MXV4 tires. With about 8K miles, one of the tires blew out it's side wall. It cost $200 to replace the defective tire, but Michelin only reimbursed $80 despite what the warranty says and only after I contacted the Better Business Bureau. At over 18K, I see a bubble forming in another of these tires. When I bring it in, I will have the shop check all of the tires for defects. Thinking of what is riding on my tires, the next Lexus I purchase will Not have Michelins.
P.S. - Lexus took care of the $120 for me.
I am buying my second set by lexusgs300 ,Apr 11 '06
Pros: quiet, superb ride Cons: cost - but it is worth it. I learned the hard way.
I tried to save money last time and bought Yokohamas. BAD mistake. There is no comparison for noise, ride and wear. Michelin energy MXV4 VR are by far the best tire available for my lexus. Last set lasted 60,000+ miles, lovely ride, superb grip on road particularly in rain. I would never buy Yokohamas again due to the noise!
The short and sweet of it all (maybe)!!!! Comfort level is without a doubt, smooth.....Wonderful at High speeds......Taking a corner is amazing....Fuel millage, let's just say I think I saved a buck or two. All these wonderful traits on dry to minimal wet pavement.
On the other hand, I'm gripping the steering wheel like an old lady when the weather changes. I'm not saying that performance in snow or wet weather is the worst that I've experience, but in my opinion for the cost of this tire, I truly expected nothing short of a miracle. As in what I read in one or two of the other reviews, you definitely do experience rear wheel slippage in wet weather with what I've seen in situations that cheaper tires could handle.
Tire wear is another story. I don't think my streets are any worse than the next guys, but in all honesty, the wear factor wasn't to impressive, but I can live with it. I purchased the P205/65R15 92V
Pros: Relaible in any wether and road condition Cons: whish they last longer than 60.000
I guess we all expect more from everything.
I have new VW Passat with this tires 205/55/16 91H
I have 59.000 miles and I'am changing tires for the first time. (car is 3 years old already) It is NYC, and I drive to work and on weekend, rain or snow, All winter long drive up North for skiing (drove in every snow storm for the past 3 years). With good driving skiils tires performed very good. I'am not a very fast driver, but not a slow one either. After shoping around, collecting as many opinions as possible from drivers and professionals, I am buying the same tires $124 each with free shipping.
Pros: Okay factory supplied tire Cons: Do not last long - checked badly, leak and tread separates
We had to replace one in the first year of owning our VW (factory installed). Replaced a second one in the second year. Now they are separating on the inside on the tire where the tread meets the sidewall. Tire are checked badly as well. I would not recommend them
Standard Equipment on my 2001 Honda Accord LX.... very hap with them so far.... nice quite ride... have had Goodyear tires in the past but even though these tires are French I will definitely purchase another pair for my accord when the time comes... so far 32,000 miles on them with very good tread wear left....
I am shopping for replacements for the XSE 235 65 R 17 's that came with my 2005 Pacifica. I normally get 40k miles at best out of a tire. I drive 35k miles per year. I have 54K miles on the originals, by far the most milage I have ever put on a set of tires. The ride is smooth and quite. I never have slipping issues until recently (only in rain) because the tread is wearing thin. My AWD Pacifica seems to have better traction in the snow than my wife's Duango 4wd. I am not sure if it is the tires or the car that makes the difference. I live in MA and ME and get a lot of miles in snow and ice. Overall best tires I have ever had in 30 yrs of driving. I wish I could find a good sale on them. They are expensive.
Worst Tires Ever. Beware. You have been warned. by peterwapel ,Jun 08 '08
Pros: Good Ride. Cons: No Mileage Warranty. Wear too quickly. Too expensive.
Michelin MXV4 Plus XSE All Season, 195/60HR15 88H.
There is a reason why there is no Mileage Warranty with this tire. I only got 21,000 miles on my last set! Rotated every 7,500 miles and maintained alignment. I bought them at Costco. The supervisor there told me that they have been having really bad luck with these tires in particular.
