Pros: easy to find Cons: doesn't do anything for frizz, vague directions, creates build-up
My hair is pretty wavy. It doesn't take much to encourage the waves to convert into a frizzy mess. I spend my time at work in constant motion--teaching, going from table to table to check work, running down the hall to make copies, trekking across the ...
Pros: Makes hair look natural and reduces the chances of frizzing. Cons: Expensive, must be used with very wet hair.
I have been using this product off and on over the years and have come to rely on this step for defrizzing. This is step 3 of 5 in John Friedas Frizz-ease system. This product works well with other products in this line but can be used ...
Pros: softens hair, tames SOME frizz Cons: oily, greasy and sticky, doesn't eliminate all frizz, stains clothes, crappy applicator
I really wanted to like this product. If anyone's seen the blond girl who does the Frizz-Ease Hair Serum commercials you'll know what I mean when I say they make this product look amazing. Being a fan of some of the Frizz-Ease products and liking hair...
Pros: No more frizzies, ever! Hair seems curlier, too Cons: If you use too much, hair may get too shiny
I have natural curls, but my hair is also a bit limp and can suffer from frizz, especially when it rains. Anyone with natural curl knows all the aches and pains of dealing with hair like this. The Frizz I have been able to tame my frizz ...
Pros: Does control frizz somewhat, has no scent, cheap Cons: Annoying and flimsy applicator, effects last only a few hours, bottle too small
As a girl with seriously schizophrenic hair (sorta wavy, sorta curly, can be straightened with some effort but hates humidity and the rain), I was thrilled when I discovered John Frieda's Frizz Ease hair serum about 4 years ago. At the time, I thought...
Pros: Works somewhat. Noticeable effect. Not greasy at all. Cons: Not exactly that great either.
This review is for the John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE Hair serum - lite formula for fine, frizz-prone hair. My hair I've always had mid-length/long hair which I usually pull back into a pony tail or bun. I have pretty healthy hair. ...
While trying out multiple John Frida products I found that this is the only product that truly lives up to its word. I’ve been using this product for years now and it has never let me down every time I buy it. This product is ...
Pros: Softens hair and eliminates "some" frizz. Cons: Greasy and expensive.
There have been many commercials on television lately for John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Hair Serum. After seeing the "dramatic" changes in the models on television. I decided to give the Serum a try.
Pros: Great value. Perfect for fine hair. Smooths and adds shine. Cons: Not suitable for thick hair. Stingy applicator. Does not work with with other sytling products.
Until about three months ago I had very long, baby fine hair that was difficult to maintain. Fly-aways galore I looked like a frightened kitty cat! The John Frieda products seemed to get the job done for me, particularly the "Frizz Ease" hair ...
Pros: Gets very straight, no scent, no residue in hair after it dries, lasts pretty well Cons: Leaves sticky residue on hands, leaves slight poofiness in my hair still
I've been using Frizz Ease Hair Serum for several months and I will admit, I am sheltered. It's one of the very few products I have used to straighten my hair, but I love it! I used to blow dry my hair straight, using no products, and then go over ...
Pros: No odor. Effective commercials. Cons: Did not work. Made my hair more frizzy. Expensive.
I have always had thick, rough hair. It's been this way since I was born, and being a swimmer probably doesn't help either. Up until I was about 11 or so, my hair had been dead straight and had absolutely no frizz whatsoever. But then, the inevitable ...
Pros: zaps static. thats it Cons: greasy, makes hair 'fluffy', has adverse effects
The Problem: Let me tell you why this product not only failed in doing its job, but also had the opposite effect on my hair. A few years ago my mother received a sample of this product and thought she'd try it on my coarse, unruly hair. I have ...
Pros: Great product works as advertised
Cons: Kind of expensive
Wow I can’t believe how many people have had such poor results using this product. All I can say is they must not be able to read and follow instructions. This product is as close to a miracle product as possible. I was so frustrated with my hair I ...
Pros: Easy to use for frizz free straight hair. Cons: Bottle design ineffective and doesn't allow for the last ounce to be used.
Just because you grew up in the 80s, it doesn't mean you have to accept frizzy hair any longer! This product is a mainstay of all of my hair products! I cannot live without this. I would rather have my bottle of ...
Pros: improved frizz slightly, relatively cheap Cons: didn't come close to working well enough
After seeing the picture on the front of the box of the woman with pencil straight, sleek hair, I wanted to give this product a try. My hair has a slight natural wave to it, but i can blow dry it straight in about 8-10 minutes. Since this product claims...
I purchased John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum at my local Walmart. My hair is a total fuzzball and I desperately seek out frizz control in different products. My dream come true would be a product that would eliminate frizz from my hair so I could also ...
I would not recommend John Frieda Frizz Ease, it really doesn't do its job! I have fine hair, yet used the origanal serum for that little bit extra strength, yet I still found that it did not stop my hair frizzing! Also, it doesn't matter how little you add, your hair will look greasy by the end of the day. I definatley would not recommend this on blonde or light hair, because it will just make your hair look dull and un-washed. Don't use it! Its too expensive for the amount you get and how little it helps your hair aswell. If you really want to tame your frizz, try straightening irons, hot oil treatments, frizz-taming shampoos, or curl developing mouse if you want curls, and seal with alot of hairspray!
Satisfactory but not Great by lexie_mac ,May 26 '05
Pros: Good price, easy to find Cons: too unpredictable, has to be put on hair that's fairly wet
I have fine hair and lots of it with just a smidge of curl. My hair tends to get those baby "fly aways" unless I use a little something to tame it down and especially if it's humid or raining. This product has to be put on wet, almost dripping hair to get the best results and as a result of that it takes forever to blow dry your hair. Who has time for that?? Also there is a very fine line between "rats I didn't get enough on and can't add more because I've blown my hair dry" and "OMG my head looks like it's been dipped in a vat of baby oil!" However, it does tame the fly aways when I manage to get the right amount on and I really like the way my hair looks and feels on those rare occasions. I feel like another reviewer does that there's most likely something out there that is better for my hair and I just need to keep looking.
Pros: At least it didn't Stink! Cons: greasy, sticky, flatenning, and annoying little applicator
Made my thin curly hair very greasy and flat. It looked even thinner then usual after using this product. Maybe better for thicker hair types. Also, I seemed to have even MORE frizz after it's use...is that possible? Crappy cheap applicator and small amount of product for the price.
God-send for frizzy hair by deadendmoon ,Jul 17 '05
Pros: Extra strength great for thick hair
Great new pump
No scent
Bottle material Cons: Greasiness on hands
I have incredibly thick and curly hair that tends to frizz up for anything. So, I started using the Frizz Ease Hair Serum, the one that's meant for coarse and thick hair, to see if it would help tame my frizz.
When I first tried it, I wasn't too pleased with the applicator, which was a dropper. If your hands are wet or gets slippery from the serum, it can be cumbersome to use a dropper. The bottle was also made from glass, making you worry about dropping and shattering it (which actually did happen to me).
However, they have since improved the bottle, making the applicator a pump and the bottle out of plastic.
About the actual product, the serum, it works really well in my hair. Like I mentioned, I have really thick hair and it's hard to find products that will keep it looking smooth. It isn't greasy in my hair, even though it's the extra strength formula. On the other hand, I really don't like how greasy it feels on hands after I've put the product on and it's a little tricky to get it all off my hands.
As long as you use it correctly... by pianomuse ,Jul 26 '04
Pros: Gets rid of little frizzies, keeps hair calm. Cons: Can be difficult to tell how much your are putting in.
According to most of the above opinions, this product doesn't seem to work. However, I disagree.
I have permed and color-treated hair, which is a recipe for a hair disaster every day. So, I bought this on recommendation of a friend, and I have been very happy with it.
The issue with the serum is that you MUST:
1. Put it on while your hair is still soaking wet. Otherwise, it will look greasy, and will create more frizz than before.
2.Use a small amount!!!!!! It even says so on the bottle. It doesn't feel like it's really getting in, but it is.
So, needless to say, I use this in conjunction with the John Frieda conditioner, and my hair stay calm and managable (except on really humid or rainy days.)
Pros: Easily accessible, relatively cheap Cons: cheap and flimsy dispenser, greasy, doesn't do anything for your frizzies.
I have long, curly hair. As every other curly-haired girl, I try to eliminate frizz using all kinds of lotions, potions and serums. I must admit that I'm a sucker for nice packaging and those amazing "after" photos they have of a model who has supposedly used this product. In the spirit of experimentation, I bought this frizz serum and discovered that it did the one thing you hope it doesn't - NOTHING!
Pros: No smell, works ok Cons: Applicator, greasy.
I have unrully, curly/wavy shoulder length hair. It hates rain and humidity. Goes out of control. I've tried almost everything known to man to get rid of the frizzies and keep it under control on those damp, humid days.
Of all the products I've tried, Frizz Ease Serum is about the best I've found. It's not a miracle but it does help. They need to improve the applicator! It irritates me I have to take the top off and get the serum out.
It is greasy but my hair is highlighted and a little on the dry side so the greasiness doesn't really affect me that much. There's no smell which is great.
This product will give you smooth hair. I also use a straighening iron and I get good results.
