Uninspired and Forgettable - Myoplex Nutrition Shake

by driver4t5 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Nov 24 '00
Pros: Nutritionally dense, variety of flavors, it doesn't offend.
Cons: Mixability, scent, it doesn't entice.
The most deadly sin of a product is to be bad. While bad works for certain movie stars and wrestlers, it is the kiss of death for a consumer product. The next worst sin is to be forgettable; to be little more than a benign, generic experience. Such is...

convenient and good but not great

by heeree , Jun 28 '01
Pros: very popular so easy to find. comes in lots of flavors. good quality.
Cons: over-priced, too thick and not the best one out there
Myoplex shakes are actually meal replacements and not just protein powder. (it has a lot of carbs as well as protein) I am a woman and have trained hard for many years and competed in several fitness contests. Believe me - the work in the gym is 20%...

Tastes good and good for you!

by txjason , Apr 09 '04
Pros: Taste good, variety of flavors, high protein
Cons: can be expensive if you don't shop around
My wife and I both drink the EAS Myoplex Original shakes and really like them. We eat 6 small meals a day and 2 of our meals consist of the Myoplex shakes. These shakes taste very good, especially compared to some other "health" type shakes I've tried in ...

Two out of three, not bad.

by dlprice1 , Jul 22 '02
Pros: Taste (strawberry, chocolate)
Cons: Mixability, Taste (Vanilla)
I have been using EAS's Myoplex for about two months. I was looking for a meal replacement that had a fairly high ratio of protein (my diet has enough carbs as it is). Myoplex has 42g protein, 24g carbs, and 2g fat (60-34-6). My first purchase was the...

My favorite shake so far

by tdockweiler , Dec 15 '02
Pros: can taste ok even with water, 42g of protein
Cons: thickness (looks like cake mix! but more water can be added)
I first started with Met-RX protein shakes and switched over to Myoplex. I don't think Myoplex is any more expensive because you can just buy the product at a low price online. I went with the Chocolate Lover's pack and found that the best tasting shake...

Best meal replacement shake on the market

by denutter , Jan 05 '07
Pros: taste, 23g carbs, 42g protein, low cost/serving
Cons: none
I am one of those people that can't eat the same thing more than two days in a row, but I can down these shakes everyday! I have been drinking Myoplex shakes for about 13 years now. Keep in mind, this refers to Myoplex Original, not deluxe or lite. ...

Easy and Great Tasting

by dougmo , Jun 14 '00
Pros: Great Taste
Cons: Expensive
Myoplex is a Meal Replacement Powder. It isn't consider a Diet Powder like Slim Fast but it is intended to replace a meal when you can not get a balanced Protein and Carbo meal. I started using myoplex in conjunction with the Body for Life Program...

The Right Stuff...

by kvrdave , Nov 01 '02
Pros: Pretty good price, very good content, good taste
Cons: must use ice to taste okay, don't use shaker
This is very good stuff and for very good reasons. Most people know that they can trust EAS, and the content of the shake packet gives excellent value with 42g. of protein, not too many carbs, etc.

I have only had Chocolate, Vanilla, and...

I've had good results

by eatyourokra , Aug 16 '02
Pros: Works if you do your cardio, weight training, and eat right. On-the-go convenience.
Cons: Vanilla is atrocious! Can be expensive.
I use to use Muscletech's Cell-Tech (creatine)and Muscletech's Meso-Tech in order to help with muscle development but was getting minimal results. I switched to EAS Myoplex shake and can definitely see the difference. I give Muscletech as an example...

Don't buy the Tropical Fruit Flavors!!! Yuck

by myopinion123 , Aug 11 '01
Pros: protein drink/some flavors are good easy to drink
Cons: expensive! sometimes not palatable
I have tried the Myoplex chocolate lovers protein pack and the Tropical fruit protein pack. The chocolate shake pack was easy to drink. The flavors were for the most part pretty good. However, the tropical fruit pack was absolutely disgusting. It was...

Convenient but pricey
by hyoung25 ,Feb 28 '06
Pros: Convenient, great formula, tastes great compared to other protein powders
Cons: Too thick if mixed only with water. Price.
One of the best tasting protein shakes on the market. A shake mixed with only water is too thick. However throw in some frozen blueberries, non-fat yogurt and soy milk whipped up with a hand blender and you have a great tasting shake!

I like Vanilla Cream because it gives you the flexibility of adding fruit to enhance the taste.

Myoplex

Pros: ease of use, taste
Cons: really expensive at GNC, but less than half the cost at bodybuildingoutlet.com
Bought Myoplex at www.bodybuildingoutlet.com after looking around for the best price. Got it 2 days later and started my diet as soon as the box showed. It was actually better than I thought. I had a protein powder I got at Wal-Mart and it was exactly what it said - POWDER - awful taste. The myoplex was a little more expensive but 10x better tasting.

Pros: taste
Cons: price is high - get it online.
Got the Myoplex 20 pack Strawberry from www.bodybuildingoutlet.com after spending $65 from Vitamin Shoppe. It tastes like a real strawberry milkshake - even little pieces of strawberries. Ive been using it now for 4 boxes (about 3 months).
