Pros: Exotic materials, great looking light weight high performance Cons: Significant cosmetic damage is not uncommon after a couple years
CCM seems to have been a half a step behind their major competitors at times. Their 2002 Tacks line was well short of their usual quality, and while the 2003 CCM product line was back up to par, they didnt turn to many heads. The Vector has changed ...
Pros: Supportive, pro-level, high quality construction Cons: Pricey, lace bite, noisy Blades
First let me make the statement that I have a wide fore foot, high arch/instep and narrow heel. This skate is not for my foot type. When I tried these on in the store they felt right. Let this be a lesson to be 100% sure a skate fits properly ...
Pros: Light, spiffy, comfy, big toe box. Cons: None so far.
UPDATES 1-19-06 - I am now into the second season with these skates and they are still holding up great. I noticed that when you take a few shots on the body of the skate some of the thread that makes the spider web effect starts coming out but ...
Pros: Very comfortable, no break in problems
Very good foot protection.
Cons: Maybe too stiff for some.
Price point is high.
I looked around at a number of skate types and did the usual research wrt reviews, talking to people and the trying of skates. I looked at the Bauer 6000, CCM 652 and 852. After three weeks of trying on skates I came down to the 852 model and the ...
Pros: Very light weight, good protection, very stiff, comfortable for my foot shape/skating style. Cons: Pretty expensive, need to be careful drying the blades (nitpicking here).
Time for new new skates (not new used skates) The skates that I had been using before were Graf 703s. I had gotten these skates used in Calgary and these were the most comfortable skates that I had ever had; whoever had these skates before I ...
Pros: Great skate. Comfortable and great performance. Not just for wide feet!!! Cons: Maybe wearing down a bit fast. They dig into the side of my leg some.
First let me say that I have the 2005 Vector Pros, not the 2004. Let me also add that I have been a goalie for most of my life and therefore have only owned about 3 pairs of regular skates (not including goalie skates in other words). Still, I have ...
Pros: Light weight, top of the line, FIT Machine Cons: Unforgiving Skate Lock , Not good for those who skate extremely low and fast
While I have found some positives out of the Vector Pro skates, I'm still accustomed to the fit of a Bauer skate. The Vector Pro is a top of the line skate, but being that I am used to the fit of a Bauer, I found it difficult to switch out of my Vapor ...
Pros: Skate feel good other than ankle pockets Cons: Ankle pockets have seams that irritate/cut skin
I bought a set of the Vector Pros last week; the skates feel good on the feet for the most part except where the black ankle pockets have been sewn into the lining. My skates have the stitching around the pockets about 3/16th from the edge and as a ...
Pros: Extremely Comfortable, custom fit, break-in quickly, extremely light, lace lock mechanism (also a con). Cons: Unlocking the lace lock mechanism a takes some getting used to.
I have worn every CCM high-end skate for more than the past decade: custom tacks, Vacu-Tacks, E60 Externo, all the XX52's (1152, 1052, 952, etc ...) and the CCM Vector Pro in my opinion is their best high-end skate that they have ever manufactured. ...
Great product, light & sturdy. by nhl66pens ,Nov 18 '05
Pros: Extremely light, strong durable, no nylon in toe. Cons: Very stiff, hard to lace up.
I just purchased the Vector Pro (2005) and found it to be an awesome skate. If you are relatively new to purchasing skates, I would not buy any skate until you've gone to your local store and tried them on. There is a definite difference between CCM and Bauer as far as fit goes with CCM being better for those with a narrower foot. This skate is very stiff and that makes it hard to tie the laces tight. There is hardly any bend in the material around the eyelets so you really have to work to get them tight. There is a metal locking mechanism that takes some getting used to because its constantly locking while trying to lace or unlace the skate. Other than that, the skate has very little break in required, its extremely light but is built to last. I haven't noticed any problem switching from my old CCM Tacks.
Pros: Light, Comfartable, and very durable. Cons: none
I've been wearing CCM from day one, so about 20 years and these are the best skates I have ever used! Comfortable and light compared to all other skates. I was skeptical at first about the lock mechanism but now I see the value in it and to tell you the truth it actually adds comfort.
