Whoo hoo! Thursday night was girl’s night out in this house. It was my dear friend Denise’s birthday and we’re always looking for an excuse to get out of the house and leave the kids and hubsters behind. There’s something you gotta know about my...
Pros: Marvelous food, superb service, great ambiance, good value Cons: it's 20 miles away! no bleu cheese dressing:(
I first heard about Carrabba's by listening to a catchy and witty commercial on local radio. After driving by their new restaurant in the trendy Southend section of town, I decided it needed to be the location for our weekend dine-out.
I ran across the website before choosing restaurants and a local Carrabba's Italian Grill (Birmingham, Alabama) has recently opened. After reading the glowing reviews of the place online at this site I decided to give it a try. I was...
Pros: My Favorite! Perfect Chicken Marsala, warm atmosphere, service as good as anywhere. Fair prices. Cons: Long wait for a table - this place is always packed!
I absolutely LOVE Carrabba's! I've never been disappointed with the food or service, but I've learned to deal with the long wait for a table. One big "plus" - Carrabba's has a few tricks to keep the kids busy so the adults can enjoy their meal.
...
Pros: Real Calamari not the frozen stuff! Terrific food and service. Cons: They don't take reservations and sometimes the wait is long.
When I was a teenager I went to Europe and had my first exposure to calamari. For those of you that haven't tried it, I'm not sure if I should tell you what it is. Well, okay...it's squid. I was a little hesitant to try it myself but after one bite I...
Pros: Friendly, excellent food, nice atmosphere. Cons: a little pricier than I usually
Let me first say this review is not of the address listed, it is, instead, the Carrabba's on Arkwright rd in Macon GA. There is no city listing for Macon, so sue me.
My husband and I don't go out very often, unless it is a place where someone...
Pros: Excellent food
Good service
Reasonably priced for the quality & portions Cons: None
Carrabba's is one of the best Italian resturants I have ever been to if not the best. Anyone who thinks Olive Garden is better than Carrabba's should have their taste buds checked. I have only tried two of their appetizers because it seems I got it ...
Pros: The taste awesome and amount you receive is pleasing Cons: Every visit the wait time is 20 minutes to and hour and a half.
When I think of home made Italian food I think of Carrabba's. I have moved this restaurant to the top on my list of favorite places to eat. The price of each dish is affordable and the quality and quantity you receive is worth every penny. The food is ...
Pros: Prices were reasonable and in line with other chains. Cons: Food and service.
It has been a long time since my wife and I had such a disappointing dining experience. The location we ate at was only open for about one month. Things started badly as we were made to wait thirty minutes beyond our called-ahead seating time. We ...
Pros: Fabulous food, and the service to match! Cons: Unromantic atmosphere
My husband and I heard from a friend that Carrabba's was a good place to eat. Being that Italian is my favorite, we decided to give it a try. I have to say "..a good place to eat..." was a dramatic understatement.
Pros: Convenient to Green Hills Mall in Nashville. Cons:
Terrible food Below average service Dirty Ladies restroom
My family and I love italian food. We hated this Carrabba's restaurant in Green Hills, TN!! We could have gone to the Cheesecake Factory but we wanted to try something new. Oh how I wish we had gone somewhere other than Carrabbas. It was a Thursday ...
Pros: Delicious. Attentive waiter. Excellent wine suggestion. Cons: There isn't a Carrabba's near me! I was on vacation.
Carrabba's amazed me. My husband and I were on vacation in Phoenix Arizona, my sister was kind enough to send us out to dinner. When we arrived, we were properly greeted and seated almost immediately. We did not have a reservation. The lighting was...
Pros: Great food, nice atmosphere Cons: price is a little high, but not too bad
If you're lucky enough to have one of the Carrabba's restuarants near you, I definitely recommend giving it a try. Part of the Outback Steakhouse family, this restaurant has delicious Italian food. That's why its always so busy in there! But here's a...
This is written on the one located on Mt. Zion Blvd. The bread is good, but they give you some kind of weird oil to dip it in, which you either hate or love. (I liked it because it was different than just plain old butter).
Pros: The wine bottle door handles were cute. Cons: Waitstaff, food, atmosphere
This is a sorry, sorry excuse for an Italian restaurant, even for a chain. I ate here during a very slow time when there was more than enough waitstaff around to attend to me, but I was still made to wait over ten minutes to be seated. That is...
Pros: great quality, big portions, affordable Cons: always a long wait
Carrabbas has to be the best place to get Italian food in Atlanta. The menu has everything - pasta, chicken, veal, and a great selection of appetizers. You cannot come to Carrabbas without trying the marinara sauce - with the pasta or with an order of...
Pros: Consistently good food. Cons: Occasionally long waits, tables very close together.
My wife and I have been to Carrabbas numerous times, and the the food is always excellent. Anything on the menu that ends with Marsala is definitely worth trying. We've also tried the house special (Pollo Rosa or something like that) and it was great....
Pros: Very tasty, reasonable, nice ambiance Cons: overzealous waiters
Carrabba's is our favorite restaurant in town - no holds barred. We went so much that we sort of burnt out on it and have tapered off as of late. I always make a point to take out of town guests to Carrabba's - it's never failed to impress. The ...
No thanks Carrabba's (Frazer, PA) by dherrmann717 ,Feb 19 '06
Pros: Professionalism of manager Cons: Poor tasting food. Bread was stale. Salad dressing was quite poor.
Quite an overpriced experience, considering the relatively poor taste of the delivered product. The "Italian Salad" had a horrible dressing. The bread was bordering on stale. The service was SLOW and our wait person never checked up on us.
The host didn't understand English. When asking for non-smoking, he placed us in the table next to smoking. We asked to be moved (plenty of seats were available), but he didn't understand our request.
The manager was very professional in his handling of our complaint, and asked us to return and call before our call. Thanks to the manager for making a horrible situation just poor.
Maybe my family just doesn't get "it", but we found Carrabba's to be a below-average overpriced experience.
Pros: Great menu and great atmosphere. Cons: Food too heavily laced with salt, see above.
I have eaten at Carrabba's in Baltimore MD, Jacksonville FL and Chadd's Ford PA. The ONLY thing I noticed that really needs improvement is their sauces. I had the Chicken Marsala twice and both times it was so salty I had to send it back. In times when salt is not seen as a good thing for most people, it seems odd that the chefs would be so heavy-handed with the salt.
Don't get me wrong, I love salt but this was so bad it was inedible. My suggestion, let the customer add the salt if they want to and don't add it in the kitchen.
Otherwise, delightful restaurants in all three places.
Italian Food At A Reasonable Price! by violentress ,Apr 21 '04
Pros: Excellent homemade food and service. Cons: A bit pricey but won't break your bank.
I go to Carrabba's frequently (in Fullerton, MD), and I've tried everything on their menu. I have to say that there was nothing that I didn't enjoy thoroughly. Everything is cooked over an open fire before your eyes, and is bursting with flavor the minute it hits your taste buds. Aside from Little Italy downtown Carrabba's is the place to find superior food quality and service as well as a "bambino" friendly environment. I highly recommend this to anyone who is as anal as I am about service and food quality!
Pros: Amount of food for price
Price
Atmosphere Cons: Exactly what you expect, no more, no less
I personally love Carrabba's because you get alot for what you pay for. The bread and olive oil to start your meal is a nice touch and the wine selection is good but the treat is in the food. No matter what you order you will get alot. The Minestrone is very good and the salads are also ver hearty. I've enjoyed almost all the entres I have ordered as well. The atmoshere is good for dinner I wouldn't really recommend it for lunch. These places can get pretty crowded on the weekends so make sure you've alotted plenty of time. The only real con I can find is the total lack of originality. Everything is exactly what you expect. The Veal taste like veal the lasagna taste like lasagna. The food is good but for the most part ordinary with few suprises. This place does a good job as a standard first date spot although I took a date there once and the server absolutely would not leave us alone even though we made it obvious we were annoyed, but this was a one time event and I havent experienced it since.
Pros: Good Food, NO, GREAT food. Very helpful staff. Cons: NONE
Hands down, this is my new favorite place, my college classmates took me to the Carrabbas in Jacksonville, Florida on Atlantic Blvd., to celebrate my birthday, I am a very picky eater and I love food that's made fresh with fresh ingredients, I was impressed, and am going back again.
No Amore at Carrabba's in Columbia, SC by mhbpolo ,Feb 04 '04
Pros: No pros at this Carrabba's. Cons: ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.
We were informed that the bar area was on a "first come, first serve basis" for dinner. When we seated ourselves at an open bar booth, we were told that the bar booths were reserved for smokers on a waiting list and were told to leave. When I asked to speak to the manager, Mr. Tom Boettger, he told us the same thing and asked us to leave the restaurant. How's that for customer service?
Pros: Great service, Amazing food, Perfect atmosphere Cons: None
We visited Carrabba's for the first time because we had received a gift card. It was a great experience! The service was first class. They gave us free dessert because it was our first visit and the food was incredible. On top of that, our bill was just over $25 and the waiter paid the difference so that our $25 gift would cover the entire bill. (We didn't ask him to do it). We will definitely be back!
Pros: Authentic feel and menu Cons: Poor service, food somewhat overpriced.
So, anyway, we never tried this restaurant and so off we went, to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived, the hostess provided us with a lackluster greeting, and by the way she looked about 15 years old. After we were seated, we were greeted by our server, and we were given some bread, which was not that tasty. We then ordered some champagne and water. At first glance the menu looked great, I ordered a wood fired pizza, and the wife ordered lasagna. I also was given a salad, the salad was ok, and not what I expected. The pizza, was unique, but not as great as I expected. The lasagna was quite tasty, but overall I felt like something was missing.
