Pros: Classic 2D fighting Cons: Bad d-pad
No matter what happens to Capcom in the future, they will always be remembered for one thing: Street Fighter. The rock-solid developer has throughout the years did one thing, and did it well. Known for classic 2D fighters, one has to ask themselves...

Pros: Good cast, GC-ism actually works, Groove Edit mode Cons: AC-ism doesn't work with this controller, limited stage selection
When Capcom first started out on making two dimensional fighters, I was rather pleased. I plunked down plenty of money when Street Fighter II came out, and I played it often in the arcades until the home version was finally released. And I kept up with...

Pros: Umm.. it has Ryu in it Cons: Abysmal control, 2D crossover fighting at it's worst, imbalanced gameplay
The dawn of crossover fighting
Capcom had a great idea, lets take the famed Street fighter characters and have them duke it out against other heroes! With this idea came the creation of X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Street Fighter,...

Pros: Tight controls: near perfect gameplay, exorbitant cast of characters from both worlds, excellent artwork Cons: Low-resolution sprite animations, troublesome controls, pointless "EO" feature, no online play, over-zealous hyperactive announcer
Aside from being a year older than it's PS2 cousin released in the Fall of 2001, Capcom has decided to bring it's massively popular 2D fighting franchise, Capcom Vs. SNK 2, to the Nintendo GameCube. Right off, one might mention how odd it sounds for...

Pros: The first real fighting game for the Nintendo Game Cube. Cons: The GC controller really isn't set up for this type of game.
Today I will be reviewing the Nintendo Game Cube game, Capcom vs. SNK 2: Extreme Overdrive.
In Capcoms first fighting game for the Nintendo Game Cube, we get one of the hottest new arcade titles thats munching up quarters left and...

Pros: Old-school fighting, good framerate, plenty of characters. Cons: Arcade control (AC-ism) not well mapped out on this controller.
For some reason, fighting games seem to be in short supply on the Gamecube. Currently, you're only choices are Super Smash Bros. Melee, Bloody Roar: Primal Fury, Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee and the recent Mortal Kombat V. The PS2 doesn't have...

Pros: Number of characters
Complexity of special moves
Music
Graphics Cons: Difficult controller set-up for standard Nintendo controller
This game features a bunch of characters with many moves, as well as two ways to configure your controller. There is a "beginner" mode, which allows the special moves for a character to be activated by a simple touch of the c-stick(my kids enjoy this feat ...

The best reason for owning...
by major_zero_dt3000 ,Feb 22 '03
The best reason for owning this game is for having a good fighting game for the system. The game has it's fair amount of modes to play. There are lots of Characters more than 40. The graphics of the game are good, not the state of the art, but good. The Controls of the game were suppost to be fixed nicely for the GameCube contoler, but it didn't pull out nice. The only way to play is to customize your buttons and hope your D-pad dosen't break from the frustration. The D-pad is to small to exicute a special. Any Capcom fighting fan can see this flaw of the Gamecube verson. The game will not make the cut for a "fighting game of the year" Title. It can be enjoyed with another player, then both players are equally challenged "haha". A good fighting Game with bad controls is not a good 2 hit combo.
