I just installed one of these units to replace an older hood. I fully agree with the first review, so I won't repeat it. My installation took about 3 hours. Metal edges are quite sharp so take care handling metal pieces. I ended up using a cardboard template (cut out from container box) to get a precise stencil for the screws. If you work alone like me, you almost need a car jack (sitting on the stove top) and a lot of duct tape to hold the unit in place while attaching it to the cabinet. Be sure to wear goggles during the installation of mounting screws. I had a screw loosen up and fall on my forehead. You really don't need Halogen light bulbs, but they look better. The manufacturer should set the light sockets deeper inside so the incandescent bulbs don't stick out.

Pros: Quiet, great looking and works.
Cons: Nothing, it's great.

It is so quiet and really works great, clears the air quickly. I didn't install it myself but my friend who did didn't seem to have any problems at all. It went very quickly and it looks great. Did I mention the lights? They are great and 3 different setting on the air flow and lights make it ideal.
