Pros: Bright, sharp, lots of contrast, great value, 19" viewable area equals a 21" CRT. Cons: Colour accuracy.
Let's face it, the days of the CRT monitor are numbered. They're heavy, they guzzle electricity, they spew radiation, they flicker, they fall out of adjustment over time, they age and lose their brilliance. In short, CRTs are old technology, and ...
Pros: Wonderful value. Great viewing area compared to wider 19" monitors. Simple controls, modern appearance. Cons: None really, although a transformer inside the unit would be nice.
I've had this monitor now for over two years, with no issues whatsoever. I spend most of my my time on it viewing and editing images, and also developing learning materials and Web sites. I color-calibrate the monitor regularly using Gretag-MacBeth ...
Pros: vs. other LCDs: No broken pixels, Ergonomic control buttons, Price vs. CRT: Geometry, Focus
Cons: vs. CRT: Brightness control, some fonts are blurry and are ghosted upon scrolling
Primary application I am spending 8-10hr a day in the office working with text. Most of the time I am writing programs, and debugging them. Rarely, I view pictures or play video clip. Monitor to compare with In past I ...
Pros: Good value and price. Large, crisp display. Supports DVI input. Cons: 25ms was a fast for LAST year's monitor but is no longer the best
Well, I've read the other 2 reviews on this site about the BenQ and I have to partially agree. This is a great monitor at a low price and it all comes down to user expectations. LCD Technology As most people know now, flat screens are HIP. They ...
Bought 2 so I could have dual monitors. BOTH had a "defective" (burnt out) pixel.
Side by side, after all drivers and auto setup, one of them, the greys looked greenish. I tried everything to get the greenish tint to go away, eventually it did, but I did not use custom settings or colors. I went through the menus, hit auto many times.
Returned them immediately to Futureshop (Canada). No problem to exchange, they only had 1 left so I have to wait for the order of a new second one.
Futureshop supervisor guy told staffer not to mark my returned one as defective! Ie they don't think that is defective. Maybe Benq's come that way.
Brought the new one home, again, a bad pixel, similar color problem. Greenish tint on the NEW one. I played around, did nothing significant, boom gone.
Now I'll use them for the weekend and decide whether to try 2 more or ditch them for a better quality monitor.

Went back to a different Futureshop location tonight.
Decided to try one more time, hoping to get stock from a separate shipment / manufacture date. Swapped both of them, got 2 good ones.
