My wife and I have a 2 year old who has a penchant for stripping down at times when we leave her alone to play or watch videos. To help prevent this, we went looking for a video monitor and found this one. We liked it so much that we ended up buying a second monitor and camera. Strengths: color LCD, good video quality. Weaknesses: Static is notable, especially around other devices (especially a microwave). Also, I wish that the view was a little wider. Overall, we are pleased. We are also looking forward to using them additionally as the kid (now kids, with the addition of our newborn) get older, have playdates, etc. TIP: Buy a battery charger and some extra batteries and keep spares charged up. The unit's internal charger does not appear to work very well.
