Pros: The french fries are HOT and huge. Cons: Bad service.
When I'm craving a hamburger, it's gotta be Barney's. Their burgers are stacked so high with ingredients, most people have to cut their burgers in half so that they can attempt a bite. Fries don't come with your burger so you'll have to order them...
Pros: Great variety of juicy burgers. HUGE portions of curly fries Cons: I don't get the ranch dressing with the fries
Hands down, the Barney's chain - yes, chain - serves up the best and most variety of burgers in the Bay Area! There are several Barney's in San Francisco (in Noe and the Marina) as well as across the Bay in Berkeley (2) and Oakland. Berkeley's Barney's...
Pros: Great big burgers, wide selection, good quality Cons: Sometime sloppy service
There are several Barney's Burgers in the Bay Area, and I have hit almost all of them. I'm never disappointed after leaving Barney's. They serve good burgers with lots of good and well-executed toppings. Thick bacon and tasty barbeque sauce on the...
Pros: Giant variety of burgers. Cons: Inattentive service.
If you dont mind patronizing a yuppified burger chain, then Barney's Gourmet Burgers is a place you need to pay a visit to. They have a gargantuan burger selection, with several vegetarian options as well as giant salads, plus you can even...
Pros: Good, friendly service. Cons: Tasteless, overcooked food.
How do get bacon to taste like liver?
Bathrooms are nasty.
As an Oakland native, I have tried to support what Oakland has to offer, especially when it comes to food. I can remember when College Ave Burrito was the near equivalent of "gourmet" on College Ave. During my college years, Barney's Burgers were ...
Pros: Large variety, large portions, vegetarian friendly Cons: Mediocre food, slow service
Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers 3344 Steiner Street San Francisco, CA Telephone: (415) 563-0307 (Other outposts in Oakland and Berkeley) I didn't set out on this dining experience with Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers in mind. As a matter of fact, I was ...
Pros: Good fries. Cons: A wait that goes on and on and on...
Good burgers or no burgers. This Marina yuppie favorite makes you wait. I have been there many a time, lured in by the big burgers and yummy curly fries. But I can stand it no more!!!
Rudeness amazing even for burger joint by gweng ,Feb 11 '06
Pros: Food is decent (though not impressive for the price) Cons: Terrible attitude, terrible service, food apart from burgers is not so great
The food's decent--but I'll never go back. Briefly, the server made a mistake on my order. I can live with that--but she made me feel like it was my fault! When I tried to talk to her, she walked away while I was in mid-sentence. Later, I told her I didn't appreciate her walking away from me in mid-sentence--and she walked away again. Amazingly, I find that she is apparently the manager in charge. When I am paying, I ask her if she is really the manager in charge. She refuses to respond. I ask her if she is not going to respond. She walks away. It could have been a conversation with a five-year-old throwing a temper tantrum! There are too many places to eat in Rockridge to put up with stuff like this. (This was all at the Oakland location.)
Pros: Fresh and good tasting Cons: A tad expensive for a burger.
I eat at the Shattuck location way to often. The burgers have very good flavor, you can actually taste beef. Everything on the burger is fresh and crisp. The wait staff is about a nine. I had problems with one guy but the others are just fine. Place is clean. One table is tippy but they tell me that they are going to be replaced soon. We shall see. I just avoid the table closest to the counter corner, next to the pole.
