Great carrier!
by lynseyrenee ,Mar 14 '07
Pros: Affordable, easy to use once you figure it out, can share with partner Cons: Initially tough to figure out (but I'm not great at that stuff)
This has been a great carrier for my little one. It's easy to adjust so my husband and I can share it. It was a little confusing to figure out how all the snaps worked at first, but once I figured it out, it's been perfect. My little one is six months now, and he loves riding in it facing out. He's always 'making friends' this way. If I don't want all the attention while we're in the store, I can always face him in too!

Comfortable Carrier
by saras_mommy ,Oct 27 '03
Pros: Comfortable for both mom and baby! Cons: Pricey (worth it), weight limit
I enjoyed this carrier for my summer baby.. it was much better than a stroller for places like the mall or a busy craft show! Once it was set up for our sizes, it slipped on easily and Sara was very comfortable and happy in it! Plus, it kept grabby strangers away from touching my baby! (which some do!)
Only gripe is the weight limit. Would have loved to use it longer.

Couldn't live without it!!
by harveal ,Jun 28 '04
Pros: Comfort, Ease of Use Cons: Straps
This carrier is a definite life saver. I'm a single mom and not having an extra pair of hands to hold the baby can be frustrating. This carrier gives me those extra hands! I can get so much done, all while holding my baby. This way I don't feel like I'm neglecting him by getting things done. He loves it...I think he feels like he's floating (when facing out). You will love it too!!
The only thing I didn't like was the straps. The straps hanging out are annoying. I usually tuck them in, but having something built in to hold them in place would be nice.

Useful baby carrier
by chavkin ,Mar 23 '07
Pros: baby loves it, practical and sturdy Cons: can hurt your back
This is ideal for urban dwellers. You can hop on and off the bus and walk around the neighborhood easily wearing your little one. Unlike a sling, I have no fear she'll fall out of the carrier.
My baby loves facing forward and being able to see the world.
My back tends to hurt on long trips. I might check out the Active Back Support Carrier next time around.

Best Baby Equipment
by mum176 ,Feb 04 '08
Pros: baby loves it! Cons: little pricey
I loved this carrier with my children. They both (now 3 and 5) demanded to be carried all day as babies and this carrier allowed me to satisfy their needs while still having both my arms available to go about my business around the house. I also loved it when going places that were crowded to transport the little one. It was much easier to get through the crowd at the fair with the Baby Bjorn than running into people with a huge stroller.

Great carrier but only for a few months
by mduguay ,Jul 21 '08
Pros: Easy to get in and out of and fits a verity of body types Cons: Lack of back support, straps dig when within a few pounds of the weight limit
The carrier is easy to use. My husband is 6'5" and I am 5'6" and we were both able to wear it easily. But before we hit the maximum weight limit it start to hurt our backs. I loved it, but he out grew it by 7 months old and was too small for it until he was almost 2 months. I am going to get an ergo instead.

I loved the baby bjorn until my son hit 16lbs
by bizzymammabee ,Oct 19 '04
Pros: Extremely comfortable for an infant up until about five months or 16lbs, well made. Cons: Not as comfy for mommy or baby when the child hits about 16lbs, cost.
My son is currently 5 months old and weighs 16lbs and I have to say that using the baby bjorn is a bit uncomfortable now for both of us. I received this and another cheaper carrier for my shower. I definitely liked this as the better of the two even though the price tag was not all that nice. As the saying goes you do get what you paid for. It's a great carrier while your child is small in my opinion. I had no issues with it when my son was smaller. The construction is far superior to any others on the market. I never had any issues or complaints with the support that it provided to both myself and my dumpling. Now that he weighs that much to be honest it is getting a bit hard on my back and I noticed that it sort of affects the circulation in his legs. He still loves it as it allows him to be up and close and gives him a very nice view of the world so I had to find an alternative to this and have now moved on to the Over The Shoulder Baby Holder.

The best soft carrier
by monkeysmom ,Dec 19 '03
Pros: Comfortable, stylish and safe Cons: Expensive, straps can be hard to figure out at first
I loved my Baby Bjorn. We used it all the time when we went to the mall, walking around downtown, even at the grocery store. I always thought it was very comfortable for both me and Preston. I loved that when Preston was very small I could have him facing me in the carrier.
The only drawback I can see is that the straps can take a while to get used to - in how they attach to you and the carrier. Once you've got that down, the thing is great. It held up very well and will make it through two or three more kids.

Too pricey for what you get
by the1amy ,Mar 17 '07
Pros: Easy to use Cons: expensive, can't use it for very long
I received the original Bjorn carrier while pregnant as a gift and was excited about using it. It was great to use when my son was an infant, but by the time he reached 15lbs, my back would ache after using it. It is perfect for when they are young and you want to take a walk or go shopping, but it doesn't seem to serve it's purpose as they get older and you still need free arms.

Its a keeper
by jefers ,Apr 20 '05
Pros: Extremely comfortable, soft material, durable Cons: Extremely expensive
We bought this carrier for child number 3... Wish we would have known about Baby Bjorn a long time ago, then we could have used this carrier with all of our kids. This is the third baby carrier we have purchased, and Baby Bjorn is by far the best.
The carrier is surprisingly comfortable to wear - even when toting an 18 pound 4 month-old. The pack evenly distributes the weight of the baby to the shoulders and back, which is why the pack is so comfortable to wear. The material is soft and comfortable for the baby. Putting the carrier on is easy, and placing the baby in the carrier is even easier. The baby can face out or in, and either position seems to be comfortable for the baby.
With the two previously purchased carriers (evenflo and fisher price) after 10 minutes of toting a baby around the house, my lower back would be in pain. With the Baby Bjorn, I have taken several 2 mile walks with no problems at all.

Easy to use with small babes, hard on your back!
by sshess ,Feb 23 '08
Pros: simple to use, safe for very small baby Cons: Ouch, my back hurt after a short period of time, even with my tiny baby.
I bought the basic city black Baby Bjorn when my son was about 6 weeks old and 8 lbs. I liked it because it was easy to clip up and put on by myself and it held the baby very snugly. However, I only used this carrier for about 2 months, and I could never wear it for more than an hour at most- it hurt my back. If I were to buy this product again, I would spend the extra money to get the extra lower back strap. I now use a Baby Trekker and find it is much easier on my back even though my baby weighs 20 lbs!

Bjorn Dangers
by bjornuser ,Nov 21 '06
Pros: Convenient and comfortable Cons: Dangerous
Our baby was just released from the Pediatric ICU after fracturing his skull when he pulled his legs up into the fetal position in his Bjorn, then toppled head first out of the leg hole. Apparently this accident was reported many times prior to 1999, when there was a recall due to the amount of head fractures. They added the two tiny (read almost hidden) straps for young infants. Most people don't know they're there. We did. We used them. But on that morning it seemed to be getting too tight, and so we assumed that meant he was beyond the danger zone. We were wrong.

Best way to keep baby with you and still use your hands
by jenniferrsmith ,May 17 '08
Pros: Safe, secure way to carry your baby and maintain some freedom. Cons: none
I purchased this carrier when my now four year old daughter was a newborn. She loved it and we used it many many times with her. In fact I was able to enjoy walking around Boston and Plymouth Mass on vacation when she was 10 months old still using the front carrier. She was a big girl and she still felt safe and secure even at 19 lbs. Now I have a baby son and we are still using the same carrier. It is the only way I could get anything done. Being able to "carry" the baby and still have your hands and arms available to do things is priceless. It washes well and the fabric and all other parts are very well made and after two children show no signs of wear. I plan on passing this carrier along to another mom who will be able to get many years of use out of it.

Simple but uncomfortable
by whirlgigs ,Jul 14 '05
Pros: Very simple, adjustable, easy to get baby in and out. Cons: No padding on shoulder strap, waist strap does nothing to ease weight off shoulders.
This is an awesome carrier....if your baby is 10 lbs or less. It's very simple to use, probably the easiest carrier on the market. Just hold baby, pull the frame up and click the clips in on either side. The clips are even colour coded for those groggy new parents.
It's not so good for the parents of larger and older babies. The shoulder straps aren't padded and dig in and the waist belt is laughable and does nothing to take the weight off your back. You carry it all off your neck. I couldn't stand carrying my son in it when he was even 13 or 14 lbs.

Great carrier if you like to rock your baby
by slice79 ,May 26 '06
Pros: Babies love it! Cons: Bit expensive.
I love the baby bjorn. The great thing about it is the fact that you can carry your baby to do all your work. If your baby is used to being rocked like ours is, the bjorn works well because she likes the feeling of bouncing around and being held. My arms would get exhausted after only a couple of minutes, so the bjorn definitely acts as a great substitute. Also, it's really easy to put down a sleeping baby after she's fallen asleep in it. Other carriers don't seem to have that added benefit. All you have to do is unbuckle around her, lay her down then unsnap the bottom part. Definitely worth the money!
