Pros: Styling, power, handling Cons: Some styling changes a bit much, Type-S price too high, competitors are newer The Bottom Line: A stunning car at a great price back in 2004, the freshened 2007 even in Type-S form doesn't bring enough new to the table to maintain the Acura's relative position.
I've loved the styling of the third-generation Acura TL from the first moment I laid eyes on the car. That it paired a strong sonorous V6 with an available precise six-speed manual only furthered my infatuation. Others appreciated the nicely finished ...

Pros: Navigation, comfortable interior, comfortable sporty ride, sound system, backup camera. Cons: Pricey I-Pod link. No keyless ignition. XM real-time traffic. The Bottom Line: The Acura TL-S for 2007 is a fun drive and has enough technology gadgets to please any tech geek.
I guess you could say that Acura has won me over. I've had a 2001 CL-S, then a 2004 TL and now here I am leasing my latest, the 2007 Acura TL-S. Acura's improvements to this year’s model are not drastic, but they are noticeable and appreciated, at ...

Pros: Voice-activated controls, reverse camera/mirrors, hp & torque, style, braking & handling Cons: Dark wheels, surprisingly limited audio adjustment controls The Bottom Line: Compared to the BMW 325xi, Infiniti G35, Lexus ES350, this is by far the best value...not to mention, it's a blast to drive, and has the most unique styling.
From my very first car -- a 2-yr-old Chevy Cavalier hatchback purchased with min-wage savings + a short-term loan from my dad -- I've owned only coupes. Wanted only coupes. Over the years, as my income has grown and my trade-ins have become nicer (and ...

Pros: Cool design, nice interior, ultra fast, handling Cons: Vibration, ride, heating and ventilation system The Bottom Line: Good car but set expectations and priorities - this is not for you if ride is most important - if you want fast and cool, might be a fit!
I have been a Honda driver for about 10 years, I owned Civics and most recently a 2006 Pilot, which I still own. All my previous experience with Honda has been A all the way. I was expecting VERY big things from Acura. I purchased the 2007 TL (base ...

Pros: Style, class, electronic toys like Bluetooth, Voice Command and Nav system Cons: Drive-by-wire throttle takes some getting used to. Needs Premium fuel (but what luxury car doesn't?) The Bottom Line: It's the perfect compromise between the ultra lux of Lexus and the hot performance of Infiniti. It's the best of both worlds.
When I was younger, I was a total car guy. I mean I knew all the stats of all the cars. I knew all about all the transmissions of the cars. I could recite 0-60 stats, quarter mile stats and horsepower stats ad infinitum. Then I got married. Then I ...

Pros: Style, looks, power, handling, quality, etc Cons: HMMMMMM can't afford two of them The Bottom Line: This car is a steal for what it offers in content, performance, looks, and quality!
Don't believe what the reviewer above has said about this car. This person is obviously an expert in his own mind. He must have read and read about this car and drove it once! I'm sorry but where i'm from we call them boys tire kickers. OK I actually ...

Pros: Awesome Sound System (pro-logic II). Cons: Cracked rim at 12,000 miles. Dealer replaced free ! The Bottom Line: My last TL held a 62% residual resale value ! Think about that before going to see a Benz, Infinity, Bimmer, ect
I've had my Type "S" TL for 6 months now. Been from Hampton, VA to Memphis, TN and onto St. Louis, MO and back as well as to Tampa, FL and back. With car loaded with 2 pass and all travel goodies..cruise set on 75mph..computer to me 31 mpg !! Strong ...

Pros: Engine power, manual transmission, Brembo brakes, blue tooth phone connection, rear view camera, GPS, Cons: High performance summer tires should be standard such as Goodyear Eagle F1 or Bridgestone Potenza. The Bottom Line: Excellent value for your Dollar
As a German I've driven BMW, Mercedes and Audis. When I was looking for a sports sedan again I felt I get a lot of value for my $ with this Acura TL-S. I had it for about 6 months now and it fits like a glove, drives smooth, put the pedal to the metal ...

Pros: comfort, sleek styling Cons: technological difficulties, fuel injection system
The Inside of the car is absolutely beautiful; but the navigation/touch screen/voice command unit is FULL of problems. It takes a vey long time to figure out the exact correct commands to use for the voice commands, and errors do seem to occur quite often. Also, When the car was first purchased, I noticed a vibration from the undercarriage. I brought the car to several technicians and mechanics, and they told me that it was a common effect of the fuel injection system... It had seemed like it was eating away at my gas; seeing that every time the "vibration" happened, my RPM's were rising. I had read alot of reviews before buying this car; but the experience of the car itself was all that I was able to look to in judging this vehicle; which seems to have a margin of error which is too high for what Acura promises to offer with this vehicle.

Not As Great As You Might Think

Pros: Nice styling, high-tech gadgets, good reputation Cons: Infiniti & Lexus are better made and have a better ride.
At first glance, this car's a winner. But after driving it for awhile, I must say the tires do not provide a smooth ride. The car is choppy, the tires are bumpy when car is cold. The electronics are slick, the handling is tight, and the sound system is great. HOWEVER, test drive Infiniti, Lexus and BMW before deciding. This car may seem like a good value, but the others provide a smoother, better driving experience. I've been driving Hondas & Acuras for years. Support and service have always been great, but that's no longer my experience. I'm now dealing with Acura corporate because my car vibrates so much and they dealer has done absolutely nothing. They say all Acura TLs vibrate and I just need to get used to it. Don't let the gadgets sway you into making a bad decision. Do your homework. Test drive without the radio and feel the rough ride.
