Pros: quiet, reliable, well built, fuel consumption, easy maintenance, friendly community Cons: none
I bought a (new) 2001 Vespa ET4 in San Francisco in early 2002. The service I got from the dealer was horrible but I heard the salesman I bought it from was fired shortly after. Vespa Haus in Sacramento has much better service and much nicer people. ...

Pros: Great fun to ride, easy on gas and to park - an overall blast! Cons: Sometimes doesn't want to start.
Got the ET4 this past summer rather than replacing the old car with another - for commutes to the train station in Souther California it seemed ideal. Great gas mileage (about 55 mpg), no parking issues, and a complete blast to ride. I now have 2200 ...

Pros: Cute, kitchy Cons: Unreliable, incomplete manufacturer warranty, bad customer service
I've been dreaming of owning my Vespa for 8-10 years, now. My husband and I finally purchased one this past December. The 3rd time we took it out int he neighborhood, we ended up stranded about 3 miles away as it kept turning off while we were driving. ...

Pros: Reliable, stylish, modern technology (4 stroke) Cons: No aftermarket performance upgrades
In America, Vespa has some long been associated with style, glamour, and chic mobility. Piaggio (the parent) company has capitalized on this fact to promote their bikes. You will not likely see a commercial on TV but you will see slick cameos at high ...

LX150--the new 2006 version of the ET4
by vespasfw3 ,Sep 30 '06
Pros: Stylish, reliable, quick, and fun. Cons: More expensive (but worth it in my opinion) than many other scooters.
I have a lot of experience with the Vespa ET4---it is quite simply a fantastic machine. Stylish, reliable, quick, and fun! I now own a 2006 Vespa LX150 which replaces the ET4. It has all the features of its predecessor with some new styling.
The LX150 has a top speed of a little over 60 MPH on the flat with no wind. I weigh 190 pounds so if you weigh less you will get some more speed. In practical use 55 MPH is a more reasonable cruising speed, adequate for almost all surface or secondary roads. I ride my scooter year round in sun, rain, and snow.
If you want more information on this Vespa or on the joys of riding check out my blog---Scooter in the Sticks.

Still in Honeymoon Period!
by clinch ,Jan 10 '05
Pros: Gorgeous,Sturdy,Fast,Fantastic mileage oh and did I mention gorgeous! Cons: Bit cold at night, but that is more to do with were I live.
I bought my Vespa because I have to travel 30kms to work everyday and I couldn't afford the petrol for the car. And ever since I traveled in Italy I've wanted a Vespa to call my own.
At 21yrs old a VESPA is a large purchase but it has been worth every cent. I ride for at least an hour each day and I enjoy every minute. The VESPA is beautiful to look at & a great conversation starter.
The seat is high enough for you to see over the top of most cars which gives you extra safety, it handles well (all though I don't have anything to compare it to)and is definately an eye catcher. I love my vespa whom I have named Vippy!
I doubt my honeymoon period will ever end! I've all ready traved 3000 kms on it (in three months) and I can't ever imagine not riding my Vippy around town.
If you are thinking of getting yourself a Vespa don't hesitate- go out there and GET IT! You won't regret it.

2005 Vespa ET4 150cc
by alayne9 ,Aug 12 '04
Pros: Real quality in looks and performance, nothing cheap looking about it at all. Cons: Yes I guess there is one con, I need to buy a rain suit.
The only words that come to mind are "I love my Vespa!". I can find no fault with anything about this scooter. Yes it is a bit more pricey than some of the other scooters available now, but you do get what you pay for.
Piaggio Vespa is to scooters as is Harley to motorcycles. The Cadillac of scooters, great on gas and really climbs those hills fast. A real eye catching silver and blue color combo, this scooter performs and is great for commuting to my job 4 miles each way.
Matter of fact that's the most fun of going to work is the drive in and back home. I'm very disappointed on rainy days, but maybe a rain suit will fix that problem!

vespa et 4 make 2004
by jetskiwaves ,Jul 10 '06
Pros: It's easy to maneuver, it's a fun ride and economical in fuel. Cons: the don't endure, they easily start breaking apart.
It's been a great experience riding my vespa in the city. Mayor reason I bought was convenience. It's a fun ride!!!! I've had problem with my vespa since I bought it. First it was the fuel line, it was clogged I had to replace it. The kick-stand broke, I've never heard of a kickstand breaking, not a new bike at least. The low beam light had to be replaced. The speedometer cable broke, I replaced it and it broke again with-in a matter of weeks.

Lovin my Genevieve
by vivalavive ,Aug 10 '06
Pros: Agile, handles really well, looks spectacular, gas mileage, wind in your hair, reliable Cons: COLD mornings when that wind is ripping through your hair
Yes, my 2005 ET4 scooter's name is Genevieve. She is a perfectly beautiful pearl white machine. I love her. My husband loves her. She is fabulous. Vive handles like a dream, gets awesome gas mileage, and face it - a vespa brings a smile to everyone's face! If you do not mind being pointed at, stared at, and random outbursts of appreciation by perfect strangers, then a vespa is totally for you. It is a total lifestyle change. You chart out new routes to everywhere so that you can drive your scooter. You will know where every pothole lives. You will learn to live your life as large as your underseat storage and trunk case allow. Who needs laundry detergent, right? Have a vespa and a smile.

a sweet ride
by twowheels4fun ,Jul 21 '05
Pros: stiff, good brakes, quick steering, good top speed, very stylish--gets stares Cons: they are girlie, fueling up is messy, stowage gets warm, stalls when cold
I told everyone I bought it for my wife but really I have most of the miles on it, so I can write the review:
We have the pearl colored '05 ET-4. Setup and instruction was very good, the manual is readable. The bike itself is taller and better built than the usual renter scoots you've been on in a resort--the main difference is engine and brakes. Disc brake on front means when you are going 100 kmh ( and it will, easily) you can safely and very quickly haul it down to a stop. Steering is fine, tender like most scooters, but I can get a good lean on it. tires are excellent. Storage seems small, it will not hold a Large full face but will a smaller one--the bag-hook on the front of the seat is great. the glove compartment will hold most stuff you need. Sophisticated electronic key stuff helps stop theft, I would get a cable lock right away though, these attract attention. It's main point is the ability to travel at the same speed as the cars.
