| Sabena6's Full Review: Popcorn Park Zoo |
I would have to say this is one of the best places you could go. NO animals are bought, sold, and none are breed to be sold. This is the last resort for many of these animals and if is wasn't for Popcorn Park Zoo many of these animals would not be alive today. The sad thing is that many of these animals at one time where either abused or where keep as illegal pets. This is not a big zoo like San Diego but it is just so wonderful to see that many of these animals have a home even though a big zoo would not take them in. I hope everybody one day gets to take a walk through the zoo (which is all sand) and marvel at the wonders that this place does for these funny and wonderful animals. What to watch out for: Don't stare or stand near the lions to long, for they will turn their butts to you, raise their tails and spray you. I have seen it done. Another thing that the zoo wants people to realize is not to feed the animals anything that is not bought at the zoo. Why? This is the only way to insure that the food is not harmful for the animals. Even though apples and carrots seem like a good idea it is NOT. The animals are on special diets that need to be respected. So yes you can buy popcorn and peanuts there, PLEASE DON'T BRING YOUR OWN, you may be asked to leave it you do, because the food bought there has no preservatives, oil or other harmful things to animals. So take a trip to Popcorn Park it is not that expensive either something like $4 a person, not bad since it goes back to the animals.
